Serato Software Feature Suggestions

What features would you like to see in Serato software?

▶ Roll & classic loops

At this time, the roll functions are just shortcuts for temporary loops.
This is what I would like to see in an update:

-Roll loops should not unset the classic "auto-loop" length. (At multiple times, I accidentaly called a 1/8 loop instead of a 8 loop just after using the roll function...)
-If using roll while in a classic loop, this classic loop should not be exited after roll is over.

To make it simple, after the roll pad is released, the previous loop state (length configuration and enabled/disabled) should be restored !

What do you guys think about it ?

Kind of what I was griping about over here....

The roll features do need some work and glad I'm not the only on thinks it isn't right.

+1

Absolutey, this I used to use Rolls and loops using a midi controller in Live before getting the SX, and this is my main frustration so far, the switching of the auto loop to the recently used roll parameter.

you can already do this, it's a bug I discovered yesterday that enables you to do this.

let me know in topic if it works for you also.

Yeah I seen your topic a few days ago, but It's too complicated to achieve live.

I found it pretty easy to do that i can do it blindly :)

I haven't tried yet, but I think that a bug exploit should not be used since it's not designed to work that way. You never know when it will go crazy lol

I'm a developper and I like to try things that nobody would. But when I'm live at a gig, I don't take the risk to crash my set-up ^^

It is not really a bug... If you see what happens.

When the PAD goes ON, that MIDI-Signal is send, but while you are holding that pad, you shift the loop-lenght-parameter so that PAD moves to the left or right from where your finger was and it does not get the "release" info from that pad, that is why, when you press it again, it will turn off. So in the end, it will not make you crash the software, since it thinks you are still holding it. I would not mind using this live at all...

Will give it a try...
But it would be better as a normal behavior ;)

Just call it an Easter Egg trick so you feel better LOL

It is pretty easy to make it work

This is really annoying, I still accidentaly throw 1/x loops instead or 4 or 8's.

For now, the roll functions just looks like a keyboard shortcut binded to slip mode and auto_loop... (basically it's not much more than this but it should not share the basic auto_loop settings !

This MUST be fixed ! Please !
