We caught bright spark Swindle at ADE last month where he treated us to this unique routine at Walls Gallery in Amsterdam. Watch the producer-maverick combine Serato DJ with the Pioneer DJM-900SRT, DDJ-SP1 & CDJ 2000NXS, Akai Pro LPD8, and Novation Bass Station II keyboard in this dreamy marriage of DJing and live production.
It's a delirium of jazz riffs, UK funky-inspired rhythms and hard-hitting grime cuts, all featured on Swindle's latest album Peace, Love & Music which you can purchase here.
Despite disgruntled attempts from Youtube commenters, no single genre represents Swindle. His list of influences is long. From the jazz, funk and soul records he heard at home growing up, and the garage, UK funky, grime and dubstep scenes he grew out of.
He's part of the Butterz crew, on the Deep Medi and Brownswood imprints, and has travelled toured live playing keys for Mala's "Mala in Cuba" tour.
Whatever you call, the result is one of the most exciting and original producers to evolve from the London underground. Watch his performance above to see what we mean.
