DDJ-S1 Features With Serato DJ

CALLING ALL DDJ-S1 USERS!

It's been in the works for a while, but your day has finally come and you can now upgrade to Serato DJ with a free download from serato.com/dj/downloads.

You'll need to make sure you are running the latest DDJ-S1 firmware

It's plug and play, so just download the latest update, connect your controller and get started!

But before you dive in head first, we thought we'd share a few cool new things your controller can do with Serato DJ.

BETTER FX AND BETTER CONTROL WITH MULTI FX

Serato DJ 1.2 now has two FX modes; Single FX mode and Multi FX mode, powered by iZotope.

Choose Single FX mode to get in-depth and tweak every FX parameter, or choose the all new Multi FX mode to use a simple, easy and powerful combination of chained effects.

Both FX modes can be controlled by your DDJ-S1. Press SHIFT + TAP on the controller to toggle between the two modes.

When in Single FX Mode you can select an effect and control all 3 parameters from your hardware. This gives you near full control of the selected effect from your DDJ-S1. When in Multi FX Mode the DDJ-S1 allows you to control the depth of two effects per FX unit. This means you can control up to 4 effects from the DDJ-S1 at the same time. See you later keyboard!

PANEL SELECT USING YOUR CONTROLLER

You can now open and close the Record, Sampler and FX panels from your hardware by simply pressing the AREA MOVE button on your DDJ-S1. This is great for DJs who want to quickly open up their FX or Sampler tab without having to touch their computer.

LOOP ROLLS USING THE TOUCHSTRIP

You can now use your DDJ-S1 Touchstrip to quickly perform a loop roll. Hit SHIFT and move your finger across the touchstrip to perform the most annoying-to-the-crowd/fun-for-the-DJ feature in Serato DJ.

TRIGGER SAMPLES AND HOT CUES FROM THE CONTROLLER

Another great new feature that stops you reaching for your keyboard or mouse! Press the REC button under your Hot Cues to enable Sampler mode. This lets you trigger samples using the hot cue buttons. Turn the REC mode off again to go back to Hot Cue mode.

This is just a quick overview of the new features the DDJ-S1 has with Serato DJ. For more information on what it can do, check out the DDJ-S1 Quickstart Guide at serato.com/dj/support.
