BS started with a decade of POP SHOW TUNES early 60s. 1971 because ROCK took over she tried to cross over with some SOFT ROCK. Then she went back to POP SHOW TUNES and release albums she was most known for - shit like "The Way We Were". If someone requests "Barbara Streisand" for a wedding or whatever thats the type shit you would play.
JUST because she ventured into SOFT ROCK on one album in 1971 she is NOT "reclassified" as a "SOFT ROCK ARTIST". Not even if that was here last album ever. She is KNOWN for soft POP and BROADWAY SHOW TUNES. And thats exactly what she went on to do for most of the rest of here career. So thats 50 years of damn POP music with a venture into SOFT ROCK, or DISCO here and there.
When the deceased was asked what specific BS he was listening to he pulled out a DISCO record she did trying to cross over. And then was scared to name anymore records because everyone knows it wasnt none of the Soft Rock records she did.
Soft Rock, Disco, Pop, Broadway, are *GENRES* of music. If you classify an ARTIST (not their specific songs) by a GENRE you use the bulk of their catalog, or what they are most known for - not one Soft Rock record they did out of 40 POP SHOWTUNE records.
Barbra Striesand is a POP/Broadway artist who ventured into Soft Rock and Disco with a couple records. She is not a ROCK artist. And we know the deceased would by lying if he tried to say he meant he was listening to that one Stoney End record out of 40 other records.
Rebuttal #1 - I said "I Love Classic Rock" and subsequently listed some artists, which included but was not limited to Barbara Striesand and ABBA. I then listed the RADIO STATION of which I heard these tunes, AND the DECADE of which I was then LISTENING to these tunes. From there it was ascertained that TODAY'S CLASSIFICATION of "Classic Rock" was actually a tangent of true "Album Rock/Hard Rock" vs. "Soft Rock" / "Adult Contemporary" music which better described how the music I was listening to AT THE TIME had be re-classified since "Classic Rock" took on the identity synonymous with "Hard Rock". I AGREED with DJ Disgrace in his summation earlier, but you choose to disregard that, and hang on to the Barbara Striesand "Showtune" angle as if that would discredit my DJ'ing or manhood in any shape form or fashion. Silly boy. How are you going to tell me WHICH Barbara Striesand songs that I LISTENED to and/or enjoyed? I didn't pay any "attention" to Barbara Striesand UNTIL she did the duet with Donna Summer....oh well. I knew she did other "Soft Rock" / Adult Contemporary songs, but MOE wants to try and wag the dog. Failed attempt at slapstick.

Rebuttal #2 - Umm...this was covered when DJ Disgrace and I came to the summation that what I was listening to was "by default" - "Soft Rock" on the station. Where you not listening? Oh, I get it, just ignore and continue to try and make it seem as though listening to Barbara Striesand is some "Moist" *ish...when we ALL know it's better to be well rounded in our music knowledgebase. I can't help the music I grew up on, and to tell you the truth, it has made me a better DJ than most.

So, many folks being presented with this issue, the idea came up to "Reclassify" what I thought was "Classic" Hip Hop, into what is called "Golden Era" HipHop, and with that comes the understanding of the years in question related to the music.
Same thing when talking about what I considered "Classic" Rock. I said CLASSIC, because it came out, AND I WAS LISTENING TO IT back in the 70's. The word "Classic" was to reflect THAT time period vs. THIS time period. So it comes out that the actual phrase "Classic Rock" was meant to mean "Album Rock/Hard Rock", and what I was referring to was actually "Soft Rock" after they split the Genres (or Radio Formats if you will)...But AGAIN, you don't want to understand that, and figure that me liking ABBA would drop my CRED level, (as if I could care what YOU think about me anyways..lmao), while all the time you're worried about what I think OF YOU....
