I just hit those numbers typically 8 and pray. Don't forget to pray though. Because thats where the magic makes a loop.

Make sure you analysed your tracks first, unplug your serato box/mixer, then open SSL, you'll see the option. If it's not that, there's really no hope for you, loops are unbelievably easy in SSL.

you can even set loops/cues in the offline player...
-the easiest way for me is to select Group 4 (B4 button) on the ttm57,
then hit P1 button on the desired entry point, P2 button on the desired exit point,
(hit either P button again to make fine adjustments until you have a seamless loop)

A song won't loop unless it has a BPM calculated, correct? I actually found that odd too at first, I couldn't figure out why you couldn't just set "loop in" and "loop out" manually like a CDJ.
If someone is not a technological person or plays music that's less rigid in the BPM department I can see how this would be confusing. But then again, I'm a grownup.
I prefer the manual looping method because you can get the feel better. I never saw the appeal of letting the software decide where it was, and I think the auto-loop splitting stuff just sounds lame. That sounds better on a CDJ too if you know how to control it.

lol this thread is funny as hell! but everybody is right, hiphope (only female on the boards)! this is real easy. lol
there are 2 ways. manually or automatically.
automatically: just hit the 1/8,1/4,1/2,1,2,4,8,16,32 (buttons on the deck) but the tracks must be analyzed. or u can set the bpm urself by tapping the spacebar on the topright of the deck. note: if the bpm isn't set to it's absolute exact time, your loops will not be fluid.
manually: cue up the record press "in" and press "out" at the end of wherever u desire. make sure the "loop" button is on. (and also remember hotkeys "[" and " ' ") to turn on/off
that should do it for you.
also, when are we gonna hear a mix from you? seems like you might have some skills... you probably better than bezzle anyways. lol

when i try to make a loop manually, ssl moves the in-out points to where it thinks that they should be. then i have to go in and move them and then they stay. i have an old version so i dunno if that's normal, but that's how i have to do it.
Deejay JOEY!
7:36 AM - 14 July, 2011
Did SSL analyze your file in a bpm range that may not be accurate? For example, I have a few transition mixes that go from 70bpm to 130bpm and vice versa. The software will analyze it as 130 bpm (the majority of the mix) and calculate the loop per 130bpm when i'm trying to loop the 70 bpm section of the song. It doesn't work out. In that instance, i will set a loop manually........go to your first beat, set a cue point, click the 'in' button and play until you think it should loop back and click the 'out' button.

Dont know if I understand this but the way I always make a loop is get to the start point I want my loop...PRESS IN....then let the record spind until I want the loop to end and PRESS OUT. I then check it to see if it loops on a whole bar, whatever that may be lol

Yeah, I've noticed that. It makes it more difficult than it should be (and occasionally impossible) to set seamless loops in some songs with live drummers and/or pitch changes.

Never noticed that with SSL, but was playing around with an itch controller a couple of weeks ago, the beatgrids were off on a track and it would not let me loop in manualy at the correct point.
