Serato Video Refresh License

I contacted serato support and as usual they are the worst. I bought serato video from serato on discount about couple weeks back, about $69. I loaded serato put in the serial code and activated the serato video just fine on 1.8.1. Then I went to the site and updated serato to the latest version 1.9.6 - went back into serato and it says It needs to refresh serato video license. I click on that button and it says that it's trying to connect to serato servers to confirm the refresh. it literally does nothing past this point and returns back to the serato software continuing to say the same thing about needing to refresh. Please help the support specialist just sent me to a tutorial about how to activate expansions. Really? It's like they didnt even read my message. So aggravating... I've always been so mad at the support service of serato. This is why I'm coming to the community for help! thanks so much!

I already went through this article and found out this but still doesn't explain why its broken... This is my reasons and responses to the article.

1. "This license is not registered to this Serato account."
A. this license was bought on the same license as serato dj account

2. "This license has been used by more than 2 computers at the same time."
A. I only used the serato video license once on my macbook. I've given it to no one. The only way this could be different is if someone has hacked my email for the license. (not likely) - I bought the license directly from serato no third party.

3. "The license is not registered in our records."
A. This would be on serato to fix. I have no explanation or answer for this. The only relatable info here is I started of using serato itch with ns7 now im using serato dj and want to use serato video. Can I not use serato video because NS7 doesnt support it?

I'm a long time user of serato and can't believe the support still hasnt gotten a toll free number to call or better "serato specialists"...

Dont Know if this is related but under Products it shows Numark NS7 and Pioneer DJ DDJ-SX... I only have the Numark NS7 has someone gotten into my account and activated their equipment? I need help immediately!

When I click My Serato in the bottom right hand corner it shows my NS7 as connected. When I click on Video tab at the top left it shows:

"We've updated the Serato Video Licensing system. Please refresh your license to re-activate Serato Video. I click Refresh License button and it shows a blank widow with a progress bar pop up at the bottom... after waiting a sec this shows "Connect to the Internet
to access My Serato" - I am connected to the internet... I click retry with no help!

If you run 1.8.1 again does it work ok?

You can keep 2 versions installed and use that as a work around until the support folks get back to ya.

I may try 1.8.1 again. Both versions work fine for DJing and what not.. I was just interested in having serato video work on the latest version. The weird part is when it gets stuck at connecting to serato.

Yeah I hear ya, just trying to keep things functional while the gears of support grind away. Usually that activation thing has been a quick fix on their end - I think sometimes to authentication server has hiccups.

The support has not been helpful. Now when I try to activate the serato video it says I should try connecting to the internet. Progress bar sticks at 25% then the modal/message goes away with out fixing serato video. On another note, I had to reset my password twice today... (I didn't forget or miss-spell my pass) now it feels as if my account has been hacked or messed with. It also claimed I'm running pioneer equipment when I'm not. Help help help

there must of been a misunderstanding along the way. I did get some feedback today that suggested deleting files inside the license folder. I tried that, it didnt work...
The only licenses I had in there was the wolf pack fx...

So I deleted serato 9.6.1 and reinstalled it. Checked again it didnt work.

So the whole time i took screenshots... posted below.

The main problem is serato video looks as if its activated but when u go to the video tab it says it needs to be refreshed. I push the button wait for the screen to tell me im not connected to the internet / cant connect to the server.

Ok so after getting some free time today I was able to breakdown what was going on... and surprise it was on serato software not being able to connect to the server via that version. The only version I was able to connect to was with 1.9.2.

A shame they can't get their shit together SDJ is a hit or a miss with connection issues Scratchlive was never this bad. Truth hurts🤷🏼‍♂️ Glad you got it resolved with 1.9.2 maybe they should update their software instead of adding more support for new hardware...just a thought
