Sorry Folks,

After years in the game...

We're not updating the Technics 1200/1210 anymore....

But WE ARE coming out with a NEWER version of Turntable that will NOT be compatible with the previous versions of 1200/1210's....

Whatchu gonna do?

Oh, wait....

I catch your drift. Technonoly is highly susceptible to obsolescence.

Of course it's over SOME of your heads...

I'm sayin...

What's the LONGEST you've (collectively) used something, and never had to fully replace it?

Me?

Gee, got my 1200's in 1985, and they're still going strong...

That's 28 years....
DJJOHNNYM_vSL3 1:34 AM - 21 October, 2013
How are you buying a piece of equipment that is rocking USB 1.1 technology in the last year?

USB 2.0 has been out since April 2000, SL3 since April 2009.

Some of y'all have NO sense of technological end of life policies...

And that's probably the bulk, since the "New" DJ era is forcing the "DJ" to be somewhat technically savvy, when they normally would NOT have to be.

My 1200's are strong since 1979. You are a menstruating dinosaur if you are whining and complaining this topic...

^^^^ I fully don't understand your example of a new turntable not being compatible with the old. Am I missing something or is it a really really bad example? Not trying to be a jerk. Just doesn't make sense.

Samuel S stated it best..."if you want to keep it real, just play real vinyl." Otherwise, you are a total hypocrite if you are playing on Serato while trying to keep it real with 1200's. I prefer 1200/1210s for pure feel. There is so much technology out there, you have to pick and use what fits your style, need, preference and attitude. (And maybe age in a few cases!)

I thought Technics/Panasonic stopped making them shits anyway!?

When you combine hardware and software, the life of that hardware doesn't last as long,
ie Digidesigns001!
