Serato Studio 2.0.2

Serato Studio 2.0.2 arrives as a Universal macOS Binary, meaning it runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

If you are using Studio on a macOS computer with Apple Silicon, you can also run your favorite third-party VST plugins natively, if they are supported.

If your favorite third-party VST plugins are only available for Intel-based Macs, they may refuse to launch, or work incorrectly when using Serato Studio natively.

However, there are a few things you can do as a workaround:

  • Use the AU (Audio Unit) version of that VST plugin, if one is available.
  • Update the VST plugin in question to the latest Universal Binary or native-compatible version, to allow it to run natively on your machine. If you've got an existing project where you've used the plugin, and the newly installed native version of that plugin doesn't overwrite the previous version, you'll need to re-load the plugin as if it were a new plugin.
  • Set Serato Studio to run using the Rosetta 2 emulation layer by; Opening a Finder window, then navigating to Applications > Serato Studio, right-clicking on the application shortcut, and choosing Get Info. Under the General section, enable the checkbox titled Open using Rosetta
