It's not even like that. I spin in Annapolis and the crowd in this state is so closed off to music. All they want is what they hear on the radio. Check the scene before you crack on the DJ.

I live in MD in MOCO and while the crowds might not be as progressive as to electro, progressive, and just plain how music, it is in large part because people keep playing top 40 and their respective remixes. Bottom line you want more diversity, than you must introduce diversity

I live in MOCO MD and while most people in this state aren't listening to songs outside of their comfort area aka top 40 remixes it is a DJ's responsibility to introduce them to new types of music while still providing songs that they love and sooner or later stuff like this wont happen nearly as much

Problem is in this city they aren't open to change. Everyone is one dimensional. It's hard for me to even play new music that hasn't hit the radio yet. Any other city I have no problem; Baltimore, Ocean City or DC. It's just this general area sucks.

your the Dj.... Play it until they like it... I mean really it will come to a point where they are going to dance to it regardless...because they know your gonna play it.... or pick the hottest chic in tha club named Jessica and just annouce she just downloaded it to your pc...

Ah see that's the thing about Annapolis. There are About 4 night clubs inside of 2 blocks so they have no problem walking out. We used to have a DJ that played what he wanted, well he's fired now because the night tanked out and the place lost money over and over. It's just a very stuck up city.

I'm another MD DJ (Mostly do Baltimore City & Towson). I agree that most of the crowds I do are really stuck on what's on the radio...and actually...what WAS on the radio 5-10 years ago! I've never DJed in Annapolis, but I'm assuming it's the same.

The other night, I played 3 brand new songs that I know are going to be really hot in the next few months and it seemed to kill the mood on the dance floor.

Well go figure....dude was like can u play lords of Acid...Pu$$y control...said sure played it the extended version...some one asked for Drake's Motto and the last request was rack city...so I played a mash of motto and rack city....and they all came back and said can u play it again the version u hear on the radio.....Needless to say the next song was Cee Lo Green....
