The BPM Show is the world's largest DJing, electronic music production and club culture trade show. It was held over 3 days in Birmingham and Serato were there in full force this year, repping with our partners Rane, Numark, Vestax, Novation, Allen & Heath, Ableton, Pioneer and Denon.
It was an especially exciting show given that we'd just launched Serato DJ Intro - a new software designed for people who love music, and it was great to see it being tried by so many visitors at the show on controllers by Numark and Vestax.
It was amazing to pick up so many awards in this year's DJ Mag Tech Awards. These awards are voted for by the public, and the top three finalists in the eight more popular categories then must go head to head, each giving presentations to a panel of judges.
Serato and our partners walked away with the following five awards for Serato ITCH and Scratch Live (which we're totally stoked about):
Best DJ Software - Serato Scratch Live
Best DJ Soundcard - Rane SL 4
Best Dedicated ITCH Controller - Numark NS6
Best Compact Computer DJ Interface - Novation TWITCH
Best Dual Multimedia Player - Denon HC5000
On the Rane stand we were treated to some standout performances from 3x DMC World DJ Champion, DJ Switch and Video-SL wunderkind DJ Cheeba. We also had on display the coveted gold plated Rane Sixty-Eight, which will go to the 2011 DMC World DJ Champion this weekend.
All in all, a thoroughly successful show and a lot of fun. Thanks to all of you who came to hang with the Serato team, we can't wait to do it all again next year!
