We often hear DJs asking us whether the latest update is for them. Read 5 reasons why you should update to the latest version of Serato DJ, 1.7.5.
1. Stability
One of the most important reasons you should update Serato DJ is to take advantage of all the performance and stability improvements we've made in the latest version. While using an older version might be working fine, there's no guarantee that it will continue to be supported in future operating system updates as we only test against the current release.
For best performance we always recommend using the latest version of Serato DJ, making sure your computer meets our system requirements and making sure your mixer, interface or controller has up to date firmware and drivers.

2. Serato Flip & Beat Jump
DJ edits whether pre-prepared or on the fly are standard in the toolkit of a good DJ. The ability to take control of your music, extend sections, find better ways to mix in/out and to control the energy of a track is the key to developing a strong personality and unique style in your sets.
Serato Flip, a Serato DJ Expansion Pack, allows you to pre-prepare DJ edits in a non-destructive way directly in Serato DJ using cue point automation. You can read a full article on how to use Serato Flip here.
Beat Jump, the newest feature for all users is available free as part of the Serato DJ 1.7.5 update. This lets you do simple forwards or backwards jumps around your tracks by predetermined amounts, perfectly in time. There're also hardware controls mapped to all supported controllers with eight pad performance pad sections.
3. Serato DJ Club Kit Support
The Serato DJ Club Kit license bundle lets you use the Pioneer DJM-900NXS, DJM-850 and Allen and Heath Xone:DB2, DB4 and 43C mixers directly with Serato DJ.
If you play regularly in clubs with this hardware installed, it's a great reason to update to Serato DJ 1.7.5.
4. Previously Secret Features.
Features such as Sticker Lock, AM Mode & EQ Coloured Waveforms were hidden in Scratch Live and required you to basically learn Morse Code to unlock. These are now developed as real features in Serato DJ, and are useful for all DJs as well as being easy setup options.
Sticker Lock is a great feature for turntablists. It allows you to align a sticker on your Serato Control Vinyl to a cue point or the start of your track and know exactly where that cue or the start will be without having to look at the waveform!
AM Mode allows you to hide the track details in the virtual deck from potential sniping playlist poachers.
The EQ Colored waveform option changes the waveform colors in Serato DJ to reflect your EQ changes. For example, taking out the bass will remove all the red from the waveform, taking out the high end will remove all the blue and taking the midrange out will remove all the green.
5. Free Trial
The last reason to update to Serato DJ is that it's free to try out! For Serato DJ Intro users wanting to give it a go, there's a free 14 day trial that is fully featured.
For current Serato DJ users with supported plug-and-play hardware, Serato DJ 1.7.5 is a free update.
