Announcing: Rane TTM57-MKII

A classic is re-imagined.

Introducing the Rane TTM57-MKII for Serato DJ. Sporting many familiar aspects of its predecessor, the Rane TTM57-MKII brings back its nostalgic and super functional look while encompassing more creative power. Supporting the use of Serato NoiseMap™ Control Vinyl/CD  in Serato DJ, the TTM57-MKII is a classic reborn and is the ultimate solution for all realms of DJing, from the bedroom to the club.

The TTM 57MKII stays true to its original design by supporting familiar workflow while improving performance and software integration.

New Features

Dual USB port

The Dual USB port provides easy DJ change over as well as back to back sets, with the help of selector switches located at the top of the mixer. The switches also allow you to switch to THRU mode for Phono and CD analog inputs, as well the AUX inputs for external devices.

Performance Pads

The updated button section gives direct control of Serato DJ Cue Points and the SP-6 Sample player. The newly updated silicone finish buttons with corresponding RGB lighting, will allow you to trigger four cue points per deck and give access to six sample slots and bank changing navigation.

Optimized Joy Stick Functionality

Along with very popular Transform function, the classic joystick is newly optimised and allows you to access the Censor, Instant Doubles (DBL), Internal (INT) and Slip mode features.

Serato DJ FX Control

The FX knob along with the dedicated ON/OFF button gives control of FX parameter adjustment in either Single or Multi-FX modes. Read more about Serato DJ FX powered by iZotope™.

Auto Loop & Loop Roll Control

The TTM57-MKII offers Auto Loop and Loop Roll functionality with the help of a dedicated knob for selecting values and an ON/OFF button for triggering.

Library Control

On board library control for each deck will allow you to scroll and navigate within crates and back to the crates list. In addition, you'll also be able to load to the track to deck and instant double where need be.

Lacks the on board effects that the original 57 had..... :-(.... I miss my Group 3 and Group 6 Effects.... :-(

If they announce backwards compatibility with Scratch Live, I will purchase this as a backup for my 62. Serato DJ is still too buggy for me to trust it at a gig.

This won't be happening. What issues are you having? Have you been in touch with support?
L2daGee 7:36 PM - 22 January, 2015
Support knows all about it. The drop-out and extreme lag issues. There are discussions all over the forum about it.

The original 57 didn't have onboard effects. They were all software, mapped via groups.
Mighty Dragon Sounds 7:39 PM - 22 January, 2015
Yea... I can back up that claim..... I've had a support post along with video about it....

I haven't been complaining because no one in the crowd seems to notice it because I am fast with the Mic and I talk over it...

When I get massive drop outs though I blame the sometimes imaginary sound engineer on the mic and tell him how bad of a job he is doing publicly and have everyone laugh at him..... or looking for him......

Sometimes there is indeed a sound engineer and I blame him in front of people and have them boo him instead of me...... I buy him a drink afterwards though to make it up.

They did have a set of onboard effects that you could only unlock in the group settings..... But they are different then the Serato Scratch Live software effects.

I am mainly talking about the post fader echo out. If you used the straight software in SSL as the Echo, it wasn't post fader.

Exactly why I continue to use the solid reliability of Scratch Live.

Lol I was wondering the same..... But that forced me to go to my current set up which is turntables set outside the cases on top of them and my mixer sits in between them on the edges of the cases....

Works better then the ears for me.... Every. Now and then when I did use the ears I would move the cases to much to the left or right by accident and my mixer would fall.

Not sure if this piece will work but just in case. Road Ready Cases have this in stock: BATTLE BRIDGE FOR 12" NON-RACK MOUNTABLE DJ MIXERS

Em nice, I know about those. And once again you would have to take out your tables, etc...

However, it's obvious the same rails for the 62/64/68 will fit the 57mk2 from Rane.

I will just watch for sales or if someone is getting rid of their's.

The price they are charging for two metal rails is ridiculous.

Finally EQ kill switches...but that price is bonkers..must be that new 32/96 sound card?

Why not a 3-channel version of this MKII instead =( ....especially at this price range.

Just a suggestion...Make the 3 knobs ( FX/Beats, loop, & Library) different colors before release. In the dark they all look the same. I'm always accidentally turning the wrong knob when using a 64...not so much on a 62 because there's a lit button to separate the two.

This is silly, everyone here raving about Serato fixing a problem we had, which is- They made over- priced, inferior products after the 57 which was a good mixer that was also over priced.
This looks like a "DJs and other mixers are on to our BS, let's fix the 57 and tax these lames"
This is a mixer that I would buy at $1,200 - people talking about having It AND 57 or 62? I would not buy a 62 for more than $400 that is what it's worth.
Stop praising Serato for Dicking us in the first place and then foisting their barely re-designed 57 on us. You wanna praise Serato, thet them do a firmware upgrade on the 57- but that would not get them $1,700 of your ## would it. I not here to sell you any other mixer- I'm here to save you from foolishness.
DJ Quartz 6:42 PM - 23 January, 2015
If someone wants to buy a 57 and 62 that's their business.

The 57SL is done. Serato doesn't make the mixer, Rane does!

The only thing I feel is this should have been an option before the 6x series.

It is what it is and no one is held at gunpoint to buy anything.

However, me personally see value in this model. Not everyone will.

The 61/62/64 all have 24-bit 44.1/48KHz sound cards. This 57MKII has a 32-bit 44.1/48/96KHz sound card. Although I don't know if it's the same card on the MP 2015.

you sound bitter bro...why compalin about what you can't afford? AMX is $350 to SRT/64 @ 2K...find your range or stick to Traktor...Z2 is $500 eshhh

why complain about a Nissan GTR when you can afford a Civic? they'll both get you there.

Work on your skillz...then you won't notice $1799 for a MKII which is the actual price range.

we have DJs on here getting paid $15,000+ for special events...bulletproof gear= higher price.

No, Us DJs of a certain size do not buy mixers But I visit a lot of Mixer graveyards. You being Rich and all probably have The Rane Collection, Including the garbage Rane 68 for a paltry $2,500. It's about guiding people to the right product.
You do not seem to have a come comeback for the death of the 57, Fine with you. but, we disagree.

Technically Based on specs it should be...but higher numbers don't always equate to better sound...especially with the use of low quality components.

To put it in simple terms. The higher numbers mean better waveform resolution and higher S/N ratio...think of it as High Definition for audio but like with TV's you can't take full advantage of it unless the source is also high definition.

Also the forum admin over on the Rane site stated street price would be about $1750.
Jumbo Boogie 10:43 PM - 24 January, 2015
Looks like I might be wrong on the 32/96. Based on a few retailers..the bit/sample on the ADC/DAC are the same as the current sixty series. The 32/96 is reserved only for USB audio. If the those retailer specs are correct...32/96 is still going to end up 24/48 on all the analog outputs and if your sampling from vinyl or whatever it's still 24/48.

It's not being trashed. We just aren't putting any more developing effort into this platform and the focus is in Serato DJ.

You'll still be able to download it and we'll still give you technical support. There just may be an operating system change or something in future that means support will no longer be possible.

Have you tried out DJ? Any feedback?

Sam.
Mighty Dragon Sounds 3:52 AM - 28 January, 2015
Was it a board decision on discontinuing scratch live? I'm just saying.... If they would have polled DJs, they probably would have agreed that SL shouldn't have been disbanded.... But hey... Off topic.
kaydeelethal 4:06 AM - 28 January, 2015
Sam,

I think Scratch live was more "Real" on some manipulation than the Serato DJ. When you try scratching , SeratoDJ has this feel like one performing virtual scratches. (Unless ) there is some settings I need to do?? Am still trying to get conversant with it though. I always find myself more comfy on Scratch live
Jumbo Boogie 2:35 PM - 28 January, 2015
^ Reason why I still use regular vinyl for heavy scratching. I just can't get use to the lag that SDJ presents. I feel like my timing is off or it feels unnatural. Turn on P-N-T or key lock and things get even stranger...but I can accept P-N-T because I can understand it's not really meant to keep up with very dynamic record speed movements.

The reason Scratch Live was discontinued was because it had quite a few technical limitations, which meant that it was harder and harder to add features, fix bugs and to advance the software generally.

We also had Scratch Live, ITCH at that time - if there was a problem in one, it had to be fixed and tested in both, something that really held us back. With one platform, it's our entire development team focussed on one piece of software. I think from the number of updates in the last year, the number of bugs fixes and what's been made available, this has definitely paid off.

We knew DJs held Scratch Live very dear - it's the trusty workhorse that's been ploughing the fields for years. This is why we've had a long period of time where both are available for users to try out DJ and get used to it before moving across. We don't expect this to be an overnight thing.

It was a decision to ensure the future of Serato. Scratch Live was not able to be developed further and we want to keep pushing forward and advancing the technology available to DJs.

If you've had any issues with Serato DJ, i'd highly suggest talking to the support team. They are very helpful and will be able to find out what's going wrong - support.serato.com

Thanks Sam,

So when do we expect the "bug" to hit this gracious "addiction" since most guys who still own the 57 & 61 mixers still run the software?

How serious is it gonna be Or rather what are the side effects going to be like..

I clearly understand what you were experiencing for this predicament. If my memory serves me right, Even Scratch Live had to undergo a series of upgrades and tweaks for it to be ideal. I believe we will get there

Thanks in advance

Simply meant to ask how much longer Scratch live will be on the market and if will be supported somewhat..

Let me rephrase,

You said you will no longer support Scratch live, But so far, most guys still run it especially those who use the 57 & 61 Mixers. Hence my question on how much longer it will be relevant to the deejay world before it completely becomes futile AND if it really will be obsolete at some point.

What may change though is that there may be an operating system update to either Windows or Mac that may cause it to no longer work in the future as we are not actively developing the platform.

kaydeelethal 5:05 AM - 29 January, 2015
When will the TTM57MKII be available in stores? and the cost?
DJ Em Nice 6:48 AM - 29 January, 2015
I heard sometime in March. I am hearing different price points, as high as $1750 and some are saying as low as $1499, same price as the MK1. I think it will be closer to the $1750.
kaydeelethal 9:57 AM - 29 January, 2015
True... Though I'm still on a predicament of how to run ableton on internal mode... I don't know if a two-channel mixer is a good option. Most guys have seen rocking this perfectly are coin it on 4 channel mixers. Any advise??
DJ Em Nice 7:11 PM - 29 January, 2015
I personally like the size of the 2 channel mixers but not opposed to getting a 3 channel mixer.
4 is probably the best way to go for what you are looking to do.
kaydeelethal 10:44 PM - 29 January, 2015
#Word.. Cheers
DJ Quartz 1:20 AM - 30 January, 2015
Don't forget there is a session in with a level control but it depends what you need for the extra channel.

Rane products will never be "perfect", but generally, they really make their customers happy (we continue to keep them in business) and with good reason...they are an AMERICAN COMPANY and their team consistently makes a solid product for different types of DJ's, especially the "purists." We need "purists" and competition to keep DJ'ing an authentic Art (personal opinion). But it's really exciting to see all this new DJ gear for us to enjoy. These are good times! I can remember when we didn't have very many CHOICES? We are very spoiled, YOU UNGRATEFUL SONS OF BITCH3S!..j/k And as far as PRICE? Well, when we "grow up" and get real jobs, or when we're "booking gigs" I'm not gonna complain about the price, especially if its a piece of gear that I want, I'm just gonna get it. I remember and respect the "struggle". ...if your a great DJ or a horrible one, the DJ will figure out how to perform with their "instrument"...if your going through the "struggle" like many of us had to go through, then just hang on to the gear you got now - the 57/61/62/Scratch Live/Serato DJ, that will NOT DEFINE YOU AS A DJ...I bet many will be happy with the new 57, and few will find something they don't like about it...and if you buy this new gear, remember your supporting American Biz, which I think is very important - expect RANE TO MAKE MONEY AT YOUR EXPENSE or find another place to spend your money. Your new 57 should be able to make you a lot of money or very happy... =) my DJ Brothers and Sisters we have choices...and Thank God for that!... 57/62/1210MK5G/ddjsx2/gearslut!...

I'm thinking the 57MK2 will have the same lifespan if not longer than the first one.

Getting ready to upgrade from the sixty one (which is my first ever Rane mixer). Should I go with the sixty two or 57 mkII????

Bro...I would wait...since Rane just released their new 57, I would think that they will be following suit by releasing other new mixers...just a thought...the mixer you have already is cool...I would wait, maybe let other DJ's give their reviews and feedback on the new 57...you may want something more powerful than that one...good luck MANGGG!...

I want this mixer... I've got the 62 now and it has too much stuff for what I need or want to do. Plus I miss my 57. That said, how much can I sell my 62 for?

Don't do it man!...keep it...it's gonna be a classic...just save up for the new 57...wait for some reviews to come out too...you may change your mind...

...if you miss your old 57, then you might be missing scratch live a little as well...the 62 will give you the best of both worlds...keep it!...

Are there any reviews on the ttm57mkII mixer yet from dj's? It's now April, and it was scheduled to be released sometime in March. I'm torn between buying a 62 or ttm57mkII mixer. Need some feedback. Will be running serato dj

Support knows all about it. The drop-out and extreme lag issues. There are discussions all over the forum about it.

They fixed the drop out @ 1.7.3...that's the only issue i personally had too...lag could be related to laptop specs,RAM etc

they just started shipping to dealers this week...go to guitar center, they have it right now
kid-dee 2:25 PM - 23 April, 2015
Go to guitar center get an overview and demonstration on both and decide. I have a 62 and when I use it works fine for me. Also when new toys come out it always has glitches and its frustrating and takes a while for it to get corrected.

so it does? or does not do post fader effects?

The TTM57MKII has post fader software FX.

Can it be triggered with the footswitch? And if so does it send to the effect, or does it turn the effect on/off.

Meaning, will the delay trail after its disengaged?

Yes, if you use the Serato DJ software FX - delays, reverbs and echo's will have a tail when the fader is brought down.

I'm not 100% on controlling FX controls with a footswitch but let me check.

Sam.
AKIEM 11:28 PM - 29 April, 2015
BTW. This is what's trying to be achieved.

youtu.be

In studio terms, the footswitch works like a SEND to an effect which is 'on'. Instead of the footswitch working like an 'on/off' for the effects.

So yes, post-fader is good, but is it "post switch"???

Thats what actually maters when applying effects to a scratch performance, not just mixing out...
Dj TopDonn 2:44 PM - 3 May, 2015
Is there a way to engage saved loops (not auto loops) directly from the mixer? There is no mention of it at all in all the documentation I have searched

What you talkin' bout Williss?

I ordered my RANE 57MKII @AGIproDj.com. I got a free Serato vinyl "BLACK SNOW" & also a free CRANE STAND ELITE. I also bought an Odyssey "FZ10MIXBL" case & 2 Shure N447z replacement stylus. All these came out total of $1,900 only (no TAX & free SHIPPING)👌😉 I don't trust the SCRATCHLIVE anymore because it seems like soon it will all be SERATO DJ.
DJ Em Nice 12:38 AM - 10 May, 2015

DJ Twingo 2:10 PM - 10 May, 2015
nice mixer,
but
no mapping for midi controll
only for serato dj, no ssl
channel swap & reverse buttons to high
led light to strong
in software no mastergain controll
DjFr&@kyF!n9&R$ 2:49 PM - 10 May, 2015
I wanted the 62 but turned off from hard cue buttons & fader feel also ScratchLive updates in the future is unpredictable.

Yep, I'm having strange dropouts too at low latency. Have had to quickly turn it to internal mode multiple times. Once you turn it back, seems to be okay, but I'm paranoid about it.
LG-Roc 5:28 PM - 5 June, 2015
BECAUSE TTM57 is classic! You see any dj of respect using it! Premier, Revolution, Pete Rock! Its a standard!
I just didnt like the color buttons... i dont like the TOY like appearance. Without color is better.

Yes, I agree about the colors. It would be cool if you could just choose a single color. But the rainbow does have a function.

No doubt! Usefull it is, thats a true.
But is it possible to disable? to keep it discreet?

Adjust the hardware USB buffer size latency. The lesser the better.

My 57SLmk2 freezes & no sound when I play around with some of the effects such as "BRAKE". Either I have to turn off the mixer that works sometimes but other times total Laptop restart is needed. I messed up so many times in a live performance due to this on going problem.
