The NYC SummerStage series has kicked off and last night saw Bedstuy's Herbert Von King Park play host to a packed out DJ Scratch and Big Daddy Kane concert.
There is something pretty special about seeing these artists in their hometown and man did they bring it! DJ Scratch was dropping bangers and cutting like a demon showing everyone who was boss.
When Big Daddy Kane graced the stage, Bedstuy erupted and the crowd got to witness one of the true greats to ever rock a mic perform a killer set. His flow was impeccable and in between classics like 'Ain't No Half-Steppin'' and 'Smooth Operator' (which were dope!) he dropped a capella raps and proved to everyone he's still sporting that youth with a highly energetic set featuring an appearance from Boogie Down Productions very own D-Nice.
