marx, Is this legal? also I doubt that your video is 1:1 aspect
marx 9:05 PM - 17 December, 2007
?
their clips

y do u think the aspect isn't 1:1
marx 9:07 PM - 17 December, 2007
not aspect ratio as in 4:3 or 16:9

in some converters you have the option to do 1:1 which will give u the 720x480 mp4....if you change it in tmpgenc anyway you will get black bars on the sides of the video

i think you mean pixel aspect ratio.

i don't think that setting is right tho.

regular tv (not widescreen) is 720x480 .909 pixel aspect ratio
or 720x540 or 720x544 1.0 pixel aspect ratio

check the vegas templates
marx 9:36 PM - 17 December, 2007
vegas doesn't have a template for 720x480 for mp4

the mpg says 4:3

i'm sure someone will shed some light on it.

marx, it's really not a good idea to ask people to post video files here. Remember that if they don't have the rights to redistribute the clips then it would be illegal sharing.

Please, if anyone posts clips, be sure you are posting something that you are legally allowed to share.

Marx your video is supposed to be 4:3 aspect but it actually plays back at 3:2 because you have set your pixels to square. This means that everyone on the picture looks slightly short and fat.
Also the compression on the video looks terrible, are you using a variable bitrate?
marx 10:33 PM - 17 December, 2007
nah they don't play like that on my projector or my plasma.

if this is incorrect how do u get a 720x480 h.264 video without the black bars?

again i don't have problems with these files
nobspangle 10:39 PM - 17 December, 2007
On your plasma the aspect ratio is most likely wrong anyway as the input is 4:3 and the plasma is probably 16:9. What resolution is your projector running at?
Chances are that your projector is just playing the video back at 4:3 and this makes it look correct. It also may be playing it back at 3:2 but you can't tell because of the letterbox.

also if u open 2 vlc players...one being a vob & the other one of those earlier clips u will see they are the same size. whats up with that?
