are there plans to be able to record video mixes with this? prefer to be able to record to an external source due to hard drive space???

I HIGHLY doubt anytime within the next 5 years. The level of computers are just @ the level of being able to mix videos let alone mix & record. Now you could use a pc recorder to capture but for stability u would have to keep the record settings low....plus its going to mess with the response time of serato. I personally use a camcorder to record. you can even buy a dvd recorder. If you computer doesn't have s-video or compostie out you will need a dvi/vga converter.
When doing videos you should always have one of these in your bag anyway. That way if you come across a club that just has normal tvs, not hd, vga/dvi etc.

well sense the video uses the computer 2nd monitor output, i dont see why it could not be possible for them to do that one day, but i agree, doing externaly would be much better, and you can do that with out any added stuff to SSL programming.

i dont understand video all that much but so i understand.. the best way would be to have have the audio "record" out of the 57 into a dvd recorder then somehow covert the monitor output to a yellow rca type plug to go into the video input of the dvd recorder?

I record my mixes on the same computer. No Problem Softcam is the program. Very easy Very simple Or check out Camtasia another good program but takes up more processing.

hahaa, yeah man. i've had this thing for over 5 years. the dazzle came out like 6 months after I got it for 25% of the price. when i originally bought it though, i had a need for the canopus macrovision defeat feature which allowed me to archive some vhs tapes that are not available on dvd.
