yeah, man i used to have rome set to record every morning. i also stream it to my office at the same time so i can listen live.

after recording the show every single day for three year, i decided to kill the recording since i never went back and listened to old shows. but i just logged into the pc and checked everything out. the record script and scheduler still work flawless. gonna schedule up the dj am mix right now.

FRESHHHHH! hows the sound quality though? cant be to great
CQuence 11:24 PM - 24 September, 2007
Do you think Swift would waste his time on anything that is sub par. He will HOUSE you DLO
a-swift 11:30 PM - 24 September, 2007
sound quality is good as FM radio can be. i've never tuned in 103.1 at the house but if it's a clear signal, sound quality will be at the limits of FM radio.

the computer itself is laying the file down at CD quality specs (exactly), 44.1Khz sampling rate, 16bits per sample, stereo, WAV file. it'll be normalized too and you can bet they are compressing the shit out of it before i get it so it will be LOUD.
CQuence 12:01 AM - 25 September, 2007
DLO got owned
a-swift 12:55 AM - 25 September, 2007
well swift is the one who got owned. i just tried 103.1 on the FM radio here at the house and I get nothing but silence. it's not a weak signal, it's a no signal.
a-swift 1:26 AM - 25 September, 2007
ok, i hooked up an old car radio i had laying around to a 12 volt wall supply and made a home made antenna out of some coat hangars and a spool of wire. now i got a clear signal on 103.1 but this can't be the same 103.1! this is not indie rock, this shit sounds like some adult contemporary KOST FM type crap.

i can't imagine AM coming on this station. shit will be totally out of place here. something is not right. i think i have the wrong 103.1, maybe from san diego or temecula or something.

I checked just now and it's not on... I got a myspace message from them and it says their web-site but for some reason it's not happening. oh well. sorry.
DJ Michael Basic 1:32 AM - 25 September, 2007
It's not 7 yet.

you're right..i made a mistake. The web-site says 4pm but I fucked up the post by writing 7pm. So, it seems like it's not happening.. unless they wrote 4 thinking we would think 7 .... which I doubt.

Just mindless chatter right now,

DJ Art Pumpin Payne 2:18 AM - 25 September, 2007
Hmnmmm, Not sure how much of this bad rock I can take....

Can someone call the station and see what time AM is supposed to start.

I'll see if I can stick it out.

F*CK YEA POST A LINK!!!

Oh and Jim Rome is a PIMP
bourbonstmc 7:31 AM - 25 September, 2007
Zshare gave me 20 minutes of "uploading- please do not close or refresh this page". Maybe the file's too big (64.1mb).

He did a few quick mixes of poppy indie rock, then a partybreak into a CRAZY ASS mix of "Killing In The Name Of" into a deconstruction of "Sweet Child Of Mine" and then some poppy electro house mixes and finished up with Daft Punk's "Around The World" mashed with the vocal from a similar electro house track. All pretty cool, but I couldn't tell how much of the looping was prepared- I'm guessing most of it was 'cause he would keep cutting it into shorter & shorter loops really quickly.
djnvs 7:37 AM - 25 September, 2007
its a big filr.. its gonna take time to upload... just wait for it

you need a shoutcast server on your pc or something like that. i have an old am/fm radio with a cd player that i got with some rewards miles on my amex. i plug that in, switch it to AM, tune in 570, plug the line out on the radio to the line in on the PC and fire up the shoutcast server.

i set the shoutcast server to run the stream on port 8080 and i name the stream AM570.ogg (it's an ogg vorbis stream but you'll probably want to use MP3 stream). then i punch a hole through my firewall on port 8080 so i can tune into the stream.

in windows media player, winamp, itunes or whatever i open the URL:

10.1.10.169

and it'll stream the radio station to wherever i'm at all day long. pretty simple.

if you're on a mac, i think you have to use that apple streaming server application. i think it's free but i haven't tried to use it in years. i dont know too much about it.

you'll find a gang of free streaming servers for windows.

you can certainly do it for no cost but you'll soon find that your upstream bandwidth my saturate pretty quickly if you get a BUNCH of people tuning in and streaming you to their computers.

you can solve that by sending the stream to another server which has hella bandwidth but then shit starts to get complicated.
DJBlisk 6:09 PM - 25 September, 2007
its already complicado.

I'll do one or two shows for free & just tell everyone that I did for free over having people know I did it for 15 an hr. I may go into radio later but for now it's not what I want to do.

this is a demonstration in loops and compressing them further down by trancifying... I will expect this tactic to now be heavily used and abused in my future outings to clubs.

its where you use a key combination on your loop and it keeps chopping the loop time in half until it loops so fast it just sounds like stutter and then you release it.

that rage song is on djcity.com I personally think it is awful. I was so mad after I DL'd it.

I think its a different version.

The one i saw on djcity was latenight mix or something like that

Oizo is killer---he is on ed banger

then it used a lot of the same elements. Because It has all the different computer voices singing it and what not. Maybe someone just remixed the Oizo version.

Bigfourty4 5:53 PM - 26 September, 2007
he made this beat too----

Watchyoutube.com
DJBlisk 5:55 PM - 26 September, 2007
Hmmm... that could be true.
dj_soo 6:02 PM - 26 September, 2007
or maybe more accurate would be Rob Playford to Justice's Goldie?
Bigfourty4 6:04 PM - 26 September, 2007
i dont see a resemblence
DJBlisk 6:05 PM - 26 September, 2007

you kinda have to defend the music you play out. If you don't, then how can you relate to the crowd you're playing for at the club

So was this a good mix? I downloaded but havent had a chance to put it in my ipod yet.

it's alright. Lotta hipster shit (bmore/electro/edbanger stuff).

If you're into that then it's pretty good...

to be truthful, I don't even like a lot of the ed banger electro stuff out there. There's some good stuff, but I wouldn't want to hear an hour-long set of it...
Bigfourty4 7:43 PM - 26 September, 2007
I kinda feel the same way...but there are definitely parts on certain songs that you can loop while bringing in other tracks that are sick, and people will think you are playing like 4 or 5 tracks at once....
DJBlisk 8:14 PM - 26 September, 2007
you guys like Yelle? i've become a fan..

and guest who just picked up a DJ premier of an MC Solaar track. I'll give you a hint, its not Soo or Bigfourty4
dj_soo 8:31 PM - 26 September, 2007
MC Solaar? He's still around?
Bigfourty4 8:47 PM - 26 September, 2007
My name is Robear
Bigfourty4 8:48 PM - 26 September, 2007
my aim name is bigfourty4, and that was because my football number was 44----and i used to scored on the first play of every game

Gotta love the fullback trap
DJBlisk 8:52 PM - 26 September, 2007
Fine Robear... you happy?

Its an old remix.... soooo sick.
dj_soo 9:55 PM - 26 September, 2007
Solaar always had some great beats for his tracks.

Speaking of French Hiphop, has anyone peeped the new DJ Cam "Bouncer Crew" Album? It's like Cam making beats for a bunch of 90s gangsta rappers like MC Eiht, Buckshot, Roc C, among others...

Sounds interesting to say the least, but I haven't checked out any of it yet

not sure but that sounds like the same thing with the

"fatman scoop DJ am" drop + yeah. the beginning of usher - yeah I always thought he was scratching that in but it's just a pre-done track...
stevie o 1:58 AM - 7 January, 2008
I have found through the years that when DJs get " bigtime" like am and skribbles and other DJs that get paid big dollars to travel the world, that they almost always have pre recorded sets. I mean they mix but alot of the songs are ore organized with drops and loops. Does that make sense the way I described it? Also I'm not hating, that's just the way it seems to me. Personally I have never pre recorded anything and have mixed every song in ever set I have ever done since I was 17,.... But I'm also an unknown dj that gets less than a grand a gig and has to work construction to pay the mortgage.
dj shadow from detroit 5:58 AM - 7 January, 2008
every professional dj that does shows around the world has to be organized.they use there creativity getting ready for there show so when they do it live it can be pulled of in a clean fashion.i know i make remixes and edits all the time and play them live.but as far as scratching i rather do it myself then play my edits with scratching live.but there has been times when i played my own remix with my scratching in it.making edits and making tracks your own way allow you to move quicker.
djnvs 7:01 AM - 7 January, 2008
well skribbles got caught playing a mixed cd in dallas... what a homo....
dj shadow from detroit 7:35 AM - 7 January, 2008
really? even if he did he is still a talented dj.but playing your mix cd during a big gig is a bad.unless serato crashed! ( which the chances of that isnt good ). i played my mix cds in the beginning of the night from 9-10 while i was setting up or chillin with my people eating or having a drink.not all the time!!
stevie o 11:30 AM - 7 January, 2008
Is that true dj nvs? Is that a confirmed story and how was he caught? If thats true I'm really dissapointed. At one point he was my favorite dj back in the traffic jam days. He used to dj on hot 97 on the ed lover show until flex had him fired because basically skribbles was takin flexs shine. What a bitch move by flex. But anyway I have seen skribbles perform live at cancun to hunter mountain ny and everwhere in between and he always put on a show. He went downhill when he stoped doing hip hop and concetrated all his time in doin house music with Anthony acid and sal parm<<<( two talented staten island cats). Havent heard him on his ktu 103.5 spot anymore I wonder what happened there.
djnvs 5:43 AM - 8 January, 2008
Well this is from the guy who brought him out to area 51 in dallas.... said he saw while scribbles was on two songs mixed and he wasn't touching anything...and looked at the cd player and there was a cd playing the whole time... oh and this was before serato
DJBlisk 9:01 PM - 9 January, 2008
wow.

its the dj mike b edit... i guess its a remix... theres a video on youtube of him playin it live.....i really want it but have no idea where to get it.... anyone got it or know where to get it???
dj shadow from detroit 12:57 AM - 25 January, 2008
am is dope !
but why does everyone thank he does every remix live?

alot of the stuff is his edits.which to me is dope because he is playing his production.but you cant cut this guy for nothing he is that good.thats the reason alot of young up and coming djs bite his style.

he is one of my favorites! he does it all and keeps people dancing if there not to busy wondering what his playlist is or cutting him for playing edit's he produced!

lol!

what's up with let me see your playlist.

im gonna come out with a baltimore club track called - let me see your playlist.

coming soon!!!!
stevie o 1:13 AM - 25 January, 2008
