Hi, I'm currently using a Virtual DJ and I realised the most of DJs are using Serato. So I decided to turn to use Serato.. It is working with Vestax Typoon but not Spin? :( it is basically same product just different name... Can you please work on this??? thanks!

I'm thinking it should, other than the cover and bundled software I think they are the same underneath.
Can't hurt to try it. Let us know.

Nevermind, I read your post wrong, I thought you said you had the Spin.

I was chatting with a Serato rep at BPM yesterday so I mentioned the problems Mac users are having with the Typhoon, so hopefully it'll reach the right ears.

Hey guys,
Funkcraiz and AldoMorro i've answered your queries in your threads, and for anyone else that having issues with Mac and Intro/Typhoon please give this a go:
1) Ensure Serato DJ Intro is closed and connect your Vestax Typhoon.
2) Open Finder and go to the Applications > Utilities folder and run the Audio MIDI Setup application.
3) Click on the Window option in the toolbar and select "Show MIDI Window".
4) Scroll along and look for the Typhoon in the connected devices, it should show as "TYPHOON DJ-Controller". If it is connected, but shows as something other than this (e.g. "USB MIDI Device") then try the following:
5) Disconnect the Vestax Typhoon.
6) Whatever device name it was showing as, click to select this in the MIDI window.
7) Click the Remove Device button.
8) Reconnect the Vestax Typhoon, it should now correctly display as the "TYPHOON DJ-Controller".
Thanks everyone, and check here for the compatible hardware: serato.com

devilozzo,
When you look at the connected MIDI devices, what does the spin report itself as?
"TYPHOON DJ-Controller" or something else?

If you could somehow change it to Typhoon you'd be good to go. I don't have one so I can't test anything.

I tried to change the name in TYPHOON DJ-Controller, Vestax Spin on for a second and then says Serato's hardware is not linked, and are all LEDs lit ... in few words ..
not work with this trick :P

Intro is probably looking for a specific MIDI device names. If the Typhoon and Spin are identical otherwise Serato may have to build in support for the Spin.

Yep !!! Serato check MIDI name ... and MIDI option for Spin cannot change .. too bad ;|

There must be something else, I can't imagine Vestax and Serato just forgot to include the Spin.

Yeah, a friend of mine has a Spin. The software he has sucks. I was excited to get him into some Serato software.

it is amazing! there is no possibility to use the SPIN with Serato DJ INTRO, it is exactly the same of typhoon, same price same hardware!! I have just read that there is no plan to implement the software for this controller!
I have a MAC and the "typhoon" for MAC is callled SPIN! so what can I do!?
really sorry....
