CD playing with SSL

Hi, I just suscribed to this forum.
I am an amateur dj, I am more into mixing, don´t scratch at all!
I use two turntables (technics and vestax, both with shure cartdriges), Boehringer mixer (crappy one), and Traktor dj studio (have no problem using mp3, but it ALWAYS crashes when I eject a cd from the cd rom drive on my pc).
An interesting thing is that Traktor dj studio plays two different or same song from a single cd at the same time, just like having two different cd´s. Is this possible with SSL?
I´m looking forward to buy Final Scratch or SSE, but haven´t decided yet.
Bugs that I found with FS is that there´s ground noise with FS amp, and that it isn´t that stable at all. Now, on the other hand, SSE comes with DEFECTIVE vinyl (pitch and time variation at minute 8 of the 10 minute vinyl) and recently some members of this forum report that while playing, one of the decks skipped to another song (obviously screwing the set).
I guess I´ll wait after these bugs are solved, before buying.

Theoretically yes, but I have had very little luck with using real CDs with SSL. On my desktop it just plain doesn't work and on my laptop I can only get one track going at once (probably because the drive is too slow to keep up with 2). I'd like it if there was anything Serato could do to improve buffering there...

This problem is nonexistent on the CD's that come with SSL, it's only on the vinyls, and that will be taken care of in the next update. So if you only play from CD's, that problem shouldn't bother you. I can only say, SSL is definately THE FUTURE!

I used TDJS as well, and I absolutely love the program (I don't use CD's though, I only play off my HD)
Don't assume, however, that NI's success in TDJS means success in FS. FS is crap, and will continue to be crap till they finally get a new SA design.
SSL's design is solid, aside from the vinyl. The pitch drift issue is being worked on as we speak and the new master is being cut to produce a whole new batch of driftless vinyl.
Don't buy FS, you'll be sorry if you do...I can totally guarantee that.

How often did it happen before? Just because it didnt happened on 1107 to you yet, doesnt mean its fixed, esp. as that "bug" is not mentioned on the 1107 "what is new/fixed"-list.

Well actually the _design_ is a gazillion times better than FS, it's the _mastering_ which let us down...

It happened about 4 times to me when I was playin in 1106. twice once durring a 2 hour set, and once durring a 30 min set, another time durring an hour set. That was each set too, since then (after 1107) I've never seen this bug since.

Well, actually I mix only with turntables.
Now, that bug happens with both 10 minute and 15 minute vinyl?

Both, its not a bug, its a bad press of the vinyls. Rane/Serato are working on a software compensation and new records are being pressed.
