BTW, corridos are freakin' popular right now here in SoCal. They're everywhere!!! Our club just recently switched Friday nights from Top 40/Mashups/Hip Hop to Corridos. It went from being a pretty decent Friday, to being SOLD OUT every week.

Narco Corridos are huge in the border sates like AZ where I'm from. its super gangster shit lol. way more violent than hip hop. It glorifies mexican drug cartel lifestyle from the northern states of mexico where drugs are smuggled across the border. If you dont speak spanish you would have no idea how thugish this stuff is. high profile drug lords pay these bands a lot to write songs about them. the music its about murder,drug smuggling, torture,turf wars, people smuggling,gun running,extortion...ect. i love this shit it go s pretty hard check these bands out.

a.) I have STILL never in my 16 years of DJing heard ANYONE ask for Corridos
b.) I find myself feeling VERY fortunate to have never DJ'ed a party where these Corridos may be requested. This is more than likely a demographic thing though which makes sense.
