The play symbol (triangle) will stop and start the track while in internal mode.

But is there a way to do this from the keyboard? I'd like to be able to start one side and stop the other at the same time.

Anyone?.... Bueller?

No, there isn't a keystroke for starting and stopping, just the buttons. We are targetting internal mode later in the year for some usabilty improvements however, and this is one of th things that we are looking at.
