So I needed a bag to transfer the unit to my gigs. I knew that Pioneer is getting ready to make one but honestly it would take at least a couple of months before having the chance to get my hands on it. I wanted something immediately so I started a search at the local market and found a PERFECT match; the ZOMO DN-B01 BK.
www.recordcase.de
Initially made for a pair of DN-S1200/1000 CD-Players and a DN-X120 Mixer this bag is the perfect fit for DDJ-S1. When you buy it is configured with 3 compartments but since the separators are fixed with Velcro it was quite easy to reconfigure it for the DDJ-S1. The controller fits perfectly and stays in place when moving the bag. I was also able to fit a Numark stand, RCA & USB cables & headphones. I can also fit my 15'' MBP by utilizing the space of the DDJ-s1 "laptop dock" but I prefer having my laptop in a separate bag just to be safe.
The quality of the bag is really good, it looks and feels tough. Internally there is plenty of padding. It is also lightweight (4.5 kgs). Only complain is the huge Denon DJ logo. Overall I am very pleased by this purchase. Initially it was meant to be a temporary solution but having used it for a week I think that Pioneer will have some tough time at creating something better and will probably not buy it when it comes out.

PS. The same bag was apparently created from UDG as well www.udggear.com
Both bags are not available anymore from either Zomo or UDG but there is plenty of stock at various retailers.

Good find. Too bad I will NEVER use anything that advertised or supported Denon.

I also i'm in the marketfor a soft case/bag for the pioneer DDJ-S1
I contacted UDG and asked if they would be making such a bag and this is their responce:
Thank you for your interest in UDG Gear.
We are indeed currently developing a bag for the Pioneer DDJ T1/DDJ S1, we will be introducing this product at the Frankfurt Prolight and Sound. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get latest information.
Please let us know if you need additional information.
With kind regards,
UDG Care Team

lol, well I don't really mind. You can see it as an anti-theft disguise. In Europe is far more likely to steal a bag that says Pioneer all over it

The will probably re-brand their Denon case cause I can't imagine how they will come with a better fit.

looks like UDG announced at Musikmesse a Soft Bag for DDJ-T1 and S1.
Pioneer had a soft carrybag for its new supersized DJ controllers, the DDJ-T1 and the DDJ-S1, on show at its stand. But UDG also had a prototype bag for these two controllers on show, which – assuming it reaches production – looked like an attractive alternative.
The bag has backpack-style carry straps for putting on your back, real jumbo zips, and lots of high-quality padding, plus a separate compartment for your laptop (with two internal padding options depending upon laptop size) and a rather attractive orange interior to boot.
Price: TBA • Availability: TBA

Anyone have any news on the Softcase for the Pioneer DDJ-S1 I am rather hoping to not carry it around in it's box at some point soon. Or at least get the UDG Denon one

I don't understand soft cases. For protection? Really? Imagine that falling off the back of a truck. I know I would have less worries if it was in a padded hard case and that happened.
I got the hard case from odyssey with the gliding laptop rack. Smaller than I expected and I can still carry it with one hand.

Just got this from UDG
"We are currently developing a bag for the Pioneer DDJ-S1/T1 MIDI Controller
Backpack. We are expecting the bag to be available in September."
September ...........
Soft cases are great as
a) their light weight
b) enable you to fit your things in a console easier
c) take on as hand luggage if your going on a plane. The Hard cases normally go over the weight limit

The Swan Flight Cases seem to be good for the "hard" case option. I'm still awaiting a good softcase option before I mkae my mind up. So DJ Grandpa keep me updated.

Haha been waiting for this but decided to just get the Denon (UDG) bag and it is a good fit - pretty heavy though. Might stick it on ebay and grab the pioneer one. Anyone know when it's gonna be available to buy?

That is one big ass bag. I personally think soft cases should be slim enough but sturdy enough to give a good level of protection. Otherwise you might as well go for a flightcase.
and yep September release (really Pioneer this is not so good)

I wonder if the NS6 will be able to fit in that Pioneer soft bag. I really hope so, since there's no plans from anyone it seems to make an official NS6 soft case or bag.

I ended up going for the swanflight hard case in the end. Cost me £175 but it's super light and well when your carrying equipment work around £2000 it's worth it.
