getting alot of static

whenever i have the needle just sitting on the record or on the tonearm stand, i am getting alot of static noise, and it causes the system to make the time on the screen move ahead/back, and the record is not moving. i replaced the needles and even my ground wires, and all my connections are snug, does anyone else have the same or similar problem? any solutions for it??

set your threashhold higher.... make sure you recalibrate it b4 each time you use SSL... and if it stilldoes it after you calibrate it.. then just mave it up higher till it does not do it anymore
