Just got my new Denon DN-X600 yesterday, so I wanted to give you guys a little look at my first run with the Crossfader! I havent really had a chance to explore the entire mixer but as far as the fader/contour/curve is concerned, its like butter. Fader comes in really sharp and is super smooth, lots of adjustments for you to customixe this nice 2 channel midi mapable battle style mixer + EFX!! Enjoy the preview!

Very nice...smooth, on-point scratches. What did the mixer cost you?

this made me want to practice more. I suck at scratching and it always feels like I'm trying so hard when you sound way better than me and are relaxed as fuck

Nice scratches. Nice to see a video without 5 minutes of crabs and flares.

nice chirps and scribbles which imo sound best for scratching over hiphop. Also Im baised cause those are my favorite scratches. These scratches are basic but when performed right you will sound like a professional. Good job

Sorry for the delay in posting replies....I thought my Blackberry would alert me when I had new messages..lol! Anyways, I played out live with this mixer last night and I was SUPER IMPRESSED with the master output levels! Most 2 channel mixers I have dealt with in the past usually had somewhat "moderate" output levels....but Denon did a good job making this mixer a Solid Contender!!!! If you guys have any specific requests about this mixer, let me know and I will try my best to accomodate!
Thanks for the vompliments Discobee, the mixer retails for $699 but i have a personal friend that works for proaudio.com and they got me the mixer for $582 + tax, not bad at all!
DJ Growtesk, thats exactly it my man, just practice practice practice!!
Thanks Howcome, appreciate that! I dont do much crab scratching, but I hear ya on seeing way too many vids of people going crazy on the fader and most of the time its not "clean" at all!
Yes Remy, Im with ya on those thoughts....The first thing I tell newer DJ's/Turntablists in training is, start with slower patterns and make sure your cuts ALWAYS hit on "time" and sound "clean"!
Babooza, yeah I did alot of research on this mixer before I purchased it and came to the conclusion that for what your getting in this 2 Channel, Midi Mapable + On-board EFX is great for the price! I think there are only like 2 or 3 (2 channel) battle style mixers that have these features listed!
Thanks Aladdin, Im enjoying this mixer immensely!

Yep, you should enjoy this little gem! I do videos at 2 of my four weeklys so I figured I would go with this 2 channel battle style/midi mixer for that reason! Its a great mixer wheteher you use it as midi, or just regular!

Yo i just picked up a DN-X600 last week as well (even sold my 56S for it). I already gigged with it twice and will say that I am 100% satisfied with my purchase! The outputs are DEFINITELY way hotter that the outputs on the 56S, and the crossfader feels REALLY good to cut with. the build quality is pretty solid so far, but only time will tell.
I only have two criticisms about the mixer, the up faders feel kinda light (very similar to the feel of DJM-400 up faders) in comparison to the heavy duty feeling cross fader. My other criticism is no inclusion of a cross fader reverse. As I cut regular its not that big of a deal, but it would still be nice to have.
Even with those two criticisms, I think I made the right decision about switching out my 56S for this, I actually prefer the eq curve of this mixer over the accelerated curve on the Ranes, but thats personally preference. The matrix input select is nice, especially when changing over DJs. We had two interfaces plugged in last Saturday and all we had to do with move the inputs from one box to another and click over to the right input on the matrix select, super easy! Also tried using the looper for a changeover as well and that went super smooth too!
This is my second Denon purchase, first being an HC1000 which has proven its durability over heavy gigging in the past few months. I def would recommend this mixer without a doubt!

Quick questions:
-Do the mixer effects work when using Serato?
- is Video SL supported?
Cheers

Is it possible to map any knobs on the DNX 600 for scrolling/loading crates/tracks in Serato?

Hi, I have a pair of denon dn s3700 and a scratch mixer with broken knobs and faders and I want to use SSL. I'm hesitating between buying this denon mixer or a rane sl box after changing the faders on my mixer ? What do you guys advice ? And how do SSL works with the denon mixer you just download the program and plug your mixer and it's ready to go, fully mapped ?
Thanks your time and I hope I can get a prompt answer :)

So just to be clear, can this mixer be used with Serato? Specifically Serato DJ (if something upgraded) or Serato Scratch Live? or is this mixer only going to work with Serato video, traktor, torq, anything that is not Serato SL or DJ? My research on forums hasn't totally been clear, other than 2 people already saying it's not going to work with Serato unless you have the interface. But if I'm using a Mac and Serato, and if this mixer is MIDI mappable, why wouldn't it work? And if there is another discussion about this, lead me to it to save time for the both of us. lol :P

you need sl 2 3 4 box to unlock the software... no if and or but....to run SSL......serato DJ in december will have 1.6 beta to try with the sl boxes
i use my x1600 with 3700 with sl1 box and its midi mapped for video..... will upgrade to an sl3 when serato dj gets to 1.6

Question: If I purchase a license to either Scratch Live or Serato DJ will I still need a SL2 box in order to use this mixer and control vinyl?
