Track overview data

Hex 9:14 PM - 7 August, 2004
Can anyone from Serato please tell me where exactly the track overview data is stored? I just want to make sure than when I backup my audio I back that up too so that I don't have to fill them all over again!

Cheers :)

pretty sure it's in an invisible folder called ".ScratchLive" on the harddrive where your music is.

No, its stored inside the mp3s itself. The only problem I have encountered yet is, that the analyzed files on a apple, when I map then on my pc they appear for one second and then they get deleted and reanalyzed. Seems a bug, I haven got any response yet. Whats the status SSL-developer team?

Known bug. A Mac will throw away an overview made on a PC, and make a new one, and vice versa.

So it is stored in the mp3? Is it added to the tag?

Wouldnt it make sense to add this then to the know issues/bugs section, before other users rant about this?

Yes it is stored in the mp3 inside our own custom ID3 tag. If you backup the mp3, you have backed up the overview. You can even email the mp3 and the scratch live overview will be there at the other end.

Roughly how big is the overview? Just interested.

Off the top of my head it's about 4k.
