Hi ralfstar.

What are the specs of your laptop? (Make, model, CPU, RAM, any other USB devices used). Also make sure you are running the NS7 directly into your computer and not a USB hub. It may also help swapping the USB ports around to see if one port is better than another.

Also are you able to check if the NS7 is coming up as a soundcard in your operating system?

To check go to the speaker icon in the lower right hand corner of the main Windows screen (next to the clock), right click and select "Playback devices", does theNS7 come up as a playback device option?

Model- HP pavilion dv2700 Notebook PC
Processor-Intel Core 2 duo CPU T5550 @1.83GHz 1.83 GHz
RAM- 3.00 GB
System type- 32 bit Operating System

I checked the soundcard and the NS7 doesnt come up as a playback device option.
I dont know if this has anything to do with it but is the USB light next to the power light on the NS7 supposed to be on? Mine is not.

So when connected, do you see the NS7 come up in your Device Manager here:
Start > Control Panel > Device Manger > Universal Serial Bus Controllers

I found Numark NS7 USB 2.8.24 on the device manager when its plugged in.

OK - that looks like the device is being recognized.

Are you using any other USB devices?
ralfstar 1:48 AM - 4 August, 2010
nothing but my ns7 and the nsfx. i only have three usb inputs. two are occupied with the equipment and the other slot has nothing connected to it.

If you disconnect the NSFX, and then run the ITCH 1.5 setup installer again with the NS7 connected, does that work?
ralfstar 2:10 AM - 4 August, 2010
this whole time i have been selecting the repair option when i re install itch. Is that what im supposed to select or do i have to select modify? the other option says uninstall. do i select that and then re install?

Can you uninstall then do it again and reinstall from scratch, keeping the NS7 alone plugged in.
ralfstar 4:02 AM - 4 August, 2010
I reinstalled with only the NS7 plugged in and itch still says the hardware is disconnected.
ralfstar 4:40 AM - 4 August, 2010
I reinstalled the numark drivers that i got from the numark webiste without having the nsfx plugged in just the ns7 and it seems to have worked. i hope it stays working this time though. thanx for your help. ill press the "thanx, its fixed" button if it still works two days from now.

OK - it did sound like a faulty install somewhere.
Keep this thread open for sure, and let me know if you have any further problems.

I'm not sure if this should be blinking, I'll get a Numark representative to come in and advise. Hold tight.

A quick search pulled up this thread in the forums regarding the blinking USB light.

Hello,

A blinking LED indicates that your computers USB card is dropping the comunication with the unit this can be caused by driver issues such as outdated graphics cards or USB chipsets reducing performance. A common cause of this can be IRQ conflicts.

Please check out this link it will show you how to check if there any conflicts.
If you are not sure post up screenshots of your IRQ list here and I will check them out for you.
