Yes, You will be able to upgrade to 2.0 regardless of what interface you may have.

RAYMIX - Everything seems to be working well with WIN 7 already - but I am not sure when we are going to consider it fully supported.
john_b_china: 2.0 is not yet available for the public.

Will the effects work with the SL 1? If so, will they be midi assignable since the faders can't start the echoes and filters and things of that nature without owning the 57?
RafaelM
4:16 PM - 28 January, 2010
Yes the effects will work with all interfaces - yes virtually everything in ScratchLIVE in Midi mappable.
DAIS
11:42 PM - 28 January, 2010
Will it be possible to apply the effects to normal vinyl or CD's in THRU Mode if you were using them in your set along with mp3's or will you still need an external effects unit?
RafaelM
12:08 AM - 29 January, 2010
You can only apply the 2.0 effects to the audio files you play thru the ScratchLIVE program

guys, i had a quick question, i am new to serato, just got hold of the sl3, i was gonna dl the 1.9.2 and install it with my sl3.
i have a gig coming up in a lil over a week and the club has sl1, and they insist on me using the sl1.
my question is that will my laptop recognize the sl1 when it is connected (since i am connecting sl3 during the installation and not a sl1)?
and also there are no major connection differences between the 2 right?
Thanks a lot, i appreciate the help.

why would they insist you use the sl1? the only benefit is the thru ports.....other than thatthe SL3 is less buggy and sounds a million times better

uhg. i hate managers/owners like that, i just tell them in advance now that if im working, im bringing my own gear. if they don't like it, i don't do the gig, lol. no one has ever cancelled a gig on me cause i stood my ground. usually its the managers who dont book acts outside of local residents that complain...cause they dont understand and think you'll screw something up by switch gear around
maybe im wrong, but doesnt the driver auto install when you plug in the SL1?

i dont have both here to try it out...but you *may* have to reinstall SL1.9.2 again with the SL1 plugged in.
assuming it's the same across operating systems, i'm running windows 7 but using the vista 64 drivers. when i goto c: program files (x86)/serato/drivers/vista64 ...it contains folders for the ttm57, mp4, SL1 and SL3.
so i think im good to go on any other those products & so should you if you've already installed the latest version of SL and the SL3. worst case...just plug in the SL1 and reinstall scratch live 1.9.2 again

before you ever upgrade to a diff version or reinstall or anything, you should always backup your crates so you dont loose that info.
look for the _ScratchLIVE_ folder and rename it to" _ScratchLIVE_ (backup)" ...or somethign like that. then do your reinstalls.
you should be fine, but its always smart to backup. i have a copy of that on my computer HD and well as 3 external HDs.
i think though dude, you should be fine to just plug SL1 in and start playing like normal withut any worries

if by mixtape you mean Serato Live Playlists, then any of the interfaces will do fine
