House Classics from the Late 90's

ditc 3:11 PM - 19 September, 2006
I need to put together some cd's for some promoters that consist of some vocal/commercial house classics / house remixes of popular tracks from the 1996-2000 era. I'm not too up on that specific genre or that time period as far as commercial house goes. Anyone that could help or provide some sort of list to get me going would be greatly appreciated. I searched some of the other discussions on here and already got some good stuff but need more and more fine-tuned to those years.

Also, the promoters are also looking for some current disco/funky house and some Miami House with deep vocals or Euro House with deep vocals, but not the real sing-songy bubblegum stuff that's on the radio. Sorry if this is confusing, but I need to hip myself on this stuff ASAP. If anyone can help, or lead me in the right direction, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks.

What's hot right now in Miami is Electro House... Ever DJ is pretty much pumping the same tracks. I personally am starting to not like this sub-genre of house. Since most EDM DJ's down here all buy off Beatport, DJ Downloads, etc... They are all playing the same stuff. But anyways...

Some good 90's tracks...

Innercity - Goodlife
Bucketheads - The bomb
Adventures of Stevie V - Dirty Cash (Money Talks)
The Mighty Dub Cats - Magic Carpet Ride
Crystal Waters - Gypsy Women
ditc 5:45 PM - 19 September, 2006
Ransom and Alex Alvarez, good looks on the help. I know a few of those tracks, and the rest, I'm gonna look into real soon. Alex, I heard electro was big right now but I'm not too familiar with what's good and what's not and what's hot etc. Any big names in the electro scene or a few songs that are real big that can kinda lead me in the right direction with that?

Damn Woody, I need to make some "arrangements" with U if possible to get some of that old school house stuff.Have you ripped your whole collection to mp3's?I started out DJing Hard House and after all these years going to Hip Hop,Ive gotten rid of all my house records(Big Mistake). But Its cool,a friend of mine gave me a crate of some hard house but its some of the closer millenium stuff.I was allready done with hard house by then.

Ive been messing around and want to put up a little mix on the forum soon.Heres some track that I was hoping to get my hands on.If I have to I will try to hunt some of these down.

I think it was on Aqua Boogie but theres this track,I think its called "La Selva" that I use to love.

Also trying to get them old school Poogie Bear and Mark V's.
I think they had some Wiggle Worlds. But one song thats been on my mind was the one that goes:

"Pump it up mad hits for ya ear,Pump it up mad hits for ya ear,Pump it up mad hits for ya ear, kick it loud and clear making hoes dissapear"----That was Sick!!

And the one that goes "MM,DROP--------.Feel the beat,Feel the beat"

Oh ya btw, My first record was "Show Me Your Love/It Feels So Good"-Lina Santiago. Ill never forget it

ditc 3:48 PM - 21 September, 2006
thanks for the help everyone, i'm still trying to school myself. dj cisco, that stuff you just posted above me, is that older house stuff or is that newer stuff? just curious. i'm trying to hip myself both on classic vocal house stuff and newer electro/miami/euro house. (sorry i'm soooooo out of the loop with this stuff).
society 4:08 PM - 21 September, 2006
Ok, first of all, my house tastes are EXTREMELY limited (I'm mostly hip-hop and r&b), but during that time frame I was into some stuff that some might classify as house-ish.

I was a HUGE Chemical Brothers fan and although they're primarily known as "big-beat" dudes, they had their fair share of acid/deep/hard house (sorry, I can't keep up with all the subgenres :P). Check:

"Under the Influence"
"Hey Boy Hey Girl" (I used to love dropping this one)
"It Began In Africa" (although this one's a bit later--2002)
...can't remember some of their other stuff right now...

I was also (kind of) into the French scene at that time--Respect Is Burning and all that shit. Daft Punk had some great stuff on their first album:

"Da Funk"
"Around the World"
"Revolution 909" (my personal fave)

and there was also Cassius: "Feeling For You", Stardust: "Music Sounds Better With You", and Dimitri From Paris had a GREAT remix of Stetsasonic's "Talkin' All That Jazz" from his first Playboy Mansion CD.

Armand Van Helden has already been mentioned and he was pretty dope too. I liked "You Don't Know Me" and he had a pretty decent track out with Common called "Full Moon."

Jason Nevins' remix of "It's Like That" by Run DMC was also great. So was Funkstar Deluxe's remix of Bob Marley's "Sun Is Shining." The Jungle Brothers' remix of their own classic, "Girl I'll House You (98)" also kills.

The best of the best would have to be Kenny Dope and the Masters At Work in general. Anything by them will kill it in my opinion.

Cisco's post is accurate to both the genre (House) and the time period (late 90's)... now, the post above his (by Lando) isn't accurate on either count (some late 90's House there, but most is from the 80's and there are Techno cuts and Hip Hop joints thrown in there).
Freddagreat 4:45 PM - 21 September, 2006
Nightcrawlers - Push the feeling on was a big one for me in the 90's as well as alot of the stuff you guys mentioned.

there was also some good stuff on nervous records and strictly rythm. I miss those days sometimes...

Ooops, my fault DITC. Chicago house classics remain house classics. by Chi-town standards (88-97) everything on the list is house, to include Uptempo by Run DMC. We didn't start to "dice" house up until the younger folks (Bad Boy Bill and crew) starting getting publicity. All good though.
ditc 6:59 PM - 21 September, 2006
i'm learning a lot in this forum. i always thought i knew a lot about music too. the house thing is a whole new entity for me, but it's something that i NEED NEED to school myself on, now that I can build a collection without having to drop 12 beans for a record i never heard before.

BTW anyone else thinking about doing the same should reconsider. That's essentially pirating music since you won't be owning a legal copy anymore.
Lando 1:37 AM - 22 September, 2006
Woa, in the words of the Egyptian Lover (On the Nile), "Wait a minute). Spin, if I sit down and spend 638 hours and 43 minutes recording all of my purchased wax to CD, then turn to sell the WAX, like unopened collectors items (Paul Revere-Beastie Boys, ZZ-Tops first four albums) then I SHOULD be able to do that. My legal copy is what I paid to record the track ('bout 5.50 per 12"). If I'm STILL guilty, send the Sherriff to my house. I'll be in my basement mixin Dawg..........

Lando, what you're planning on doing is illegal. If you want still want to do it, that's your choice, but do not advertise your illegal activities here on this forum. This is your one and only warning. Any further efforts to advertise illegal sales will result in a ban.

So there's this house track...I don't know what it's called or who it's by (don't you just love that?) but it sounds really old timey. Sounds like the melody is played with a clarinet or something, but it sounds like something you'd hear out of the 30s or 40s. Was a pretty popular track in the early 90s I believe? Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?
Dj KaGeN 5:58 PM - 22 September, 2006
^^ this is the worst part about house music - you hear a song and if you do not get the name of it written down - it can be aeaily lost since you virtually have nothing to work with except hummin the damn thing out......

so many songs have slipped by...... I can remember where I heard them. (I standing in my kitchen of my apartment listening on my pc that was streaming thru a dial up connection) it has an underwater sound and a hot chic swimming in the video in a white swim suit bottoms only.... any help? LOL
Kool DJ Sheak One 6:08 PM - 22 September, 2006
I think your thinking of Frankie Knuckles - "Whistle song"
DJ CISCO 7:44 PM - 22 September, 2006
i think your talking about Zig zag, or Cajmere - horny. Or perhaps the Dajae - u got me up remix.. These are the most popular house traxx with a wind instrument.

as for learning about house.. the best way to learn is to live through it.. being from chicago its like knowing the streets of the city or like knowing how old you were when you heard a popular song.. only as an example and cuz its infamous.. you know how old you were when you heard can't touch this.. Here in the Chi.. if you play perculator or horny... everyone remembers being in high school or jacking up girls with knee highs on at some dance or house party back in the day... its all about the music and the memories.. check out the pump up the volume documentaries to get the real low down on the history of house.. pretty damn accurate!

and as for the whistle song.... wow... memories.. do you have that children of the sky track with the whistle song in the backdrop.. is pretty straight..
craigg 8:21 PM - 22 September, 2006
Big ups to CISCO about the memories...
I can remember hearing Chris Sheppard in Toronto in the late 80's and early 90's a lot of the stuff that has been listed here by all these great DJ's. Going to RPM in the early days and hearing Shep throw down Dajae's U Got Me Up remix into Donna Summer's I Feel Love (the Giorgio Moroder classic!) into Adamski's Killer...
The floor went OFF!!!!

This is an incredible forum and it goes back almost 10 years!

I found so many songs that I never thought I'd hear again from looking up many of the tracks listed! LONG LIVE HOUSE MUSIC!

Does anyone know the title of the song with these lyrics-

I watch Windows
High as could be
Watching Windows
I'm aware of where you been

Probably from late 90's and runs through my head every so often since then.

Love that rich bass from 90's house, a lot of new tracks sound thin to me, too similar, get off the computer and get crate diggin and sampling and tweaking, it took a lot of creativity and effort with all that analog equipment to make music then, and you can hear it in the music of 80's and 90's and early 2000's , but it still all goes back to the 70's for the foundation and inspiration, the 70's is the Giants shoulders we stand on

There are some pretty great songs mentioned in this thread. I've been trying to find a song , not sure what era but I'm guessing 80's or 90's. I believe it is called "Deeper"; I believe the hook is: "deeper deep deep deep deep deeper (x4) come on come on deep; come on deeper yeah deeper" . I know that is not much but some of you are really knowledgeable and I really hope someone can help!

Hi i am looking for a few song from the 90's I believe they are house/electro
My kate brother used to play these songs and what a great way to remeber him

The lyrics go like this
1. People gather around let's hear the sound it's telling me and you that it's time to celebrate take somebody by the hand forget all your worries and be thankfulnfor your blessings
We gonna celebrate tonight come on and celebrate we gonna celebrate tonight

2. This is your life
And this is not a play, some TV show you've seen
This is real life, you know that
This is your, this is your life, hey hey hey
This is your, this is your life
You act like a child playing games now
Play and pretend, art of disguise

Well spotted Mr. Goodkat

Now how about giving us the title of the house classic track with those lyrics from the late 90's:

Quote:
The lyrics go like this
1. People gather around let's hear the sound it's telling me and you that it's time to celebrate take somebody by the hand forget all your worries and be thankfulnfor your blessings
We gonna celebrate tonight come on and celebrate we gonna celebrate tonight

Hey y'all. I was trying to find a house song from around 1996/97. My memory recall is weak, but here's what I got:

The hook went something like "Im thinking (or hoping) we can be (or get) together" and the 'gether part repeats several times. I know thats not much, but its all I got. Remember loving that song as a kid the few times I heard it on the radio. If any of y'all recognize it, I'll love ya lots. Peace, and thanks!

It was sampled and used in a more recent house song: Snacks - Burnin which I recommend you check out.

Hey guys, in search of a 90s house track for many, many years. I would be very grateful if someone could help.

"I'm looking, searching, dancin'"

Quite a few DJs have dropped this back in the day and it's been killing me. These are the only lyrics and the music has a semi-creamy deeper disco feeling to it.

Many thanks guys!

Great track, but no. This song was popular amongst the Chicago house music crowd in the late 90s early 2000s. It's been driving me nuts.

Hey all,

Like the rest of you I'm pulling my hair out trying to think of a song I heard back in the day.

This is the best recollection I have of it.

OK it starts off with a male voice speaking and describing what you need to make a dance track.
It goes something like this....
"We need to start off with a beat" (A beat starts)
"Then we add a hi-hat" (Now a hi-hat is added to the beat)
"Now we can add some base" (base is added)
And so on.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Great forum fellow DJ's!
Does anyone remember these two songs that had this awesome disco guitar rift?
One was called;" Got to be Free", but I don't remember who did it. And the other, I think was called; "Got your Soul"? I don't remember who did that either but both songs had the same guitar in it and it sounded like the disco song "Boy Meets Girl". I have been searching for these two songs for close to twenty years, if anyone can help I am guessing that this would be the place. God bless brothers! Thanx!

Hi all,
Looking for the artist / track title of a well known nineties poppy house track...
The singing is by a man but with a fairly high/ or maybe falsetto voice.
The lyrics should be similar to:
"woman, i can feel.. got to get you in my life.
No matter what ... say or do, so in love with you.

Does anyone recognise?
Thanks, peace, Leon

Hi there, does anybody know the name of a garage/house song from about 1993ish? Male vocals and lots of piano and the vocals go 'i'm gonna get you back some day, gonna get back to you, don't you know'? it's a bit cheesy and probably something really obvious but it's been bugging me for a long time. It's a female vocal, lyrics are something like "what a night, I love...." she's says something In the beginning but I can't make it out. It's mixed with heavy bass. The dj told me it was house throb. If anybody can help, i would really appreciate it. I can even send you a clip from it, if it helps. Thanks

Hey guys! I'm lookin for an old house track. The word "esperanza" is the only thing I can remember, and I do believe the song is the part of some mix (it's definitely not El nino by Agnelli & Nelson). The song that comes before that one is House Music by Eddie Amador. Love the forum, thanks a bunch!

Also searching for a track I only remember somewhat....13 years its been driving me nuts..if my memory is right in the first part at one point it sounds like a man falling and he's saying "help me I'm dieing" possibly says a few times, and the next part sticking out is an eerie female voice saying "memories like radio".. it was around 2003 that I heard it...but not necessarily when it came out, I was going to school in a suburb outside of chicago

Hi, very new too this but ive turned 40 lol I have a love for dance and house music especially the diva house songs with piano rifts in the background , yes I believe we all love this stuff lol , but I heard a song in the late 90' the lyrics were "theres somthing bout the way you give me freedom ' you release my soul ' theres a reason I'm not letting go" i google this and I can't find anything :/ but I know the song exists , it had a pumping house sound and piano of course in the back ground , it was of course song by a lady with a massive diva voice :) any ideas ??

Would also like to know if they is a place for a DJ that only plays songs like this on the DJ scene?

Regards chris

No thats not it. It samples an old song. No lyrics really only a sentence and its in a mans voice.
The trupet sounds go like this
Tat,tat..tat,tat,tat,tat,tat,..tat..tat,tat,tat,tat..tat,tat,tat,tat..
tat..tat,tat,tat,tat,tat..tat,tat,tat,tat,tat,
It may not be the best example but it coms close.

Yo... Hello you cool cats, had such a good result for my other half before with you finding Shaka boom.... Being vinyl junkies we need the next fix!!! We gotta tune we can't identify and need your expertise again!!!
Going back to special k tapes again there's a tune on k8 part 2, it's a mix of plez "I can't stop"... We've got the original plez I can't stop with the rainforest mix, but it's the piano mix version that we're after, we're hoping to identify that one and also the piano tune it's mixed from we know it's from a record dating back to 89/90.... with words to it "stand by me" and "no.... Nnno nno" . It's mostly a vocal track with a lovely piano tunage....... And.... excuse, but why were trying our luck... At the end of k8 part 2, there's 2 tunes one with words " we all dance under the same sun... Too high" and the other "make me love you". Any of you funksters got any ideas for these 4 tunes?? Xx

I am looking for a track ID and hoping someone here can help me! The vocals go something like:

Don't go askin'
Whats his name
Aint nobody but you
Are to blame

I know, I've been untrue
But I had to do it
(repeats "I had to do it")

Very jazzy house music track. Horns, keys, percussive. Sounds a little like St Germain.

Anyway, any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance!

I have been looking for a Chicago House track since my tape broke. It is from 1993-4 and it was either on a Lego brick tape or a Traxx/Mystic Bill tape. The lyrics go something like this:
Girl...he kicked me so hard, he left the word Nike on my Forehead...(then she says) but he did it all for love. I think it might have the track "Let me Tell you something" mixed in as well but my memory is foggy. Does anyone know what this track is called? I have been looking for it for about 20 years.

Hi! I’m looking for a track
First they take a cheap song and slowly transform it into a house track by adding bass, drum etc.. they are commenting every change one after another.
At one point, there are vocals from a woman who says something like « this gets my heart pumping »
I remember a golden tooth, on the cover or on the youtube video.
Please let me know if this hits you!

Greetings fellow house heads!
Great to see the efforts being made to help identify tracks on here. The 90's certainly gave birth to a generation of house proud people. And after reading through this forum, I am hopeful that someone here maybe able to assist in my search?

It's a deep house number outta the 90's with the male vocal taken from what I think was originally an r&b tune. It's lumpy in bass and has a light weight percussive pattern to match. The lyrics I remember are..

'the feeling I get from u, (baby) u got me addicted
'the feeling I get from u, (baby) u know that u got me now'
On a high (repeats several times)
(electric guitar plays softly and intermittently, sliding thru singular notes towards end)

It was a new addition to my crate b4 my decks and vinyl got stolen. I had one recording of it on a mixtape I made in 98, I'd mixed out of JT Donaldson-Mama into it, then out of it into Kevin Yost-Dreams of you...(to give u an idea of the mood, it's similar in feel to the K.Yost track). The tape has since deteriorated and all I have is a distant memory... please help. Lol. It's been almost 2 decades!!

Progressive house beat and all male vocals.

Thanx!

Alright, I've got one too. Early to mid 90's hard house track. I believe the lyrics were taken from Coolios Ohh La La, although I don't think the coolio song was actually sampled for this track, although maybe I'm wrong on that.

Goes something like:

I'm searching a house track from Carl Cox's last ever Space DJ Set.
it has something like reggae vocals from Bob Marley's 135 son or something.

It has repetetetive line like
Oh

Oh
Oh-Oh
Come on girl, bring me the (wtf i don't know he sings so fast)

And I remember the first line in the verse
We had a kiss that turned to lobotomie

Hi, I'm wondering if someone can help me please? There's a really old track from the early 90's, the only way I can describe it is underground/piano/vocal. It's stripped back and raw (I'm not a DJ btw). From what I remember the lyrics, in no particular order are- oh babe we'll turn out the lights...the way that you love me...I like to party and you like chopin. The woman singing has a mid range kind of voice and the bass is quite heavy with piano. I have looked everywhere online and can't find the track or the name of the track. It had a very different feel to it than other house tracks. I hope someone knows the track I'm on about. Thank you

Hey guys!
I've been searching everywhere for this song for like almost 3 years now, but alas found nothing. Really hope that you can help out cause it's driving me craaazee...The style is a little more party-dance house, almost 80% sure it's after the 2000. I caught some lyrics for the first time ever, but didn't help much on google and youtube ..They go:
''We fell in love on the dance floor, on the dance floor, me and you
You broke my heart on the dance floor, (so I can't dance anymore) - not sure about that part
So turn the music LOOUD
LOOUDER, LOUDER''
And then the beat drops. Oh yeah, the vocal is female.
Thanks.

Can anyone help me identify the track on the Sky TV series The agony and the ectacy series 1 episode 2 people versus the establishment at 18mins 30? It’s a track I remember playing and think it was called something like Ya, but can’t find it. Baseline builds and builds until it takes over.

Hey guys, I hope someone can help me identify a song from the late 90s, early 00s. I don't know the lyrics but to me, it sounded like "magic, magic, magic, magic." There was also another word that sounded like "bonkers." I think those were the only words in the song just repeated over and over. I know that isn't much to go on, but I'll try my luck and NO it's not "Magic Carpet Ride." Thanks a lot!

Heard a song in a Frankie Knuckles mix from the '90s, does anybody know the song/artist from the lyrics that go:

"Inside my heart inside my heart there's plays a symphony
Because of all the love you gave to me
Inside my heart there plays a melody"

Looking for the name of a club track from the mid nineties - the hook had the words “all your life, to a tee” in them. I don’t remember full verse but it went -
“[something] [something] to a tee,
all your life to a tee.”
[something different] to a tee,
all your life to a tee.”

strictly a club jam... Hunka Bunka... Djay’s
Killing me that I can’t find it.

Hi team, looking for your expert assistance to locate an old track from between 2000 - 2002. Repeated melody throughout and a little sampled voice that says ...'yeh, and I seen the south'. I heard it again recently at a public event, it's driving me crazy.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

So many epic tracks on this thread!! Hoping someone can identify a track that’s been bugging me for the best part of nearly or so years (yikes)...

Male vocal, house track, with the lyrics:
“Clap your hands - get down - clap your hands - get down in ??? town.... Don’t you like it, don’t you like it... San Francisco screaming out for more, for more...”

I heard it probably in the late 90s, track could be older though.

PLZ HELP!!!

Hi,
I’ve been looking for this track since maybe 2002 and need all the help I can get! My best friend had this track on a mixtape in like 1999/2000. As I remember it, it was more of a funk track but the lyrics went something like ‘ I got the house for you baby, the way you dance turns me on, shake it baby wooo’
Any leads?!? Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find this song for years now and still no luck. I just hope someone could help me out. It's a song from yr '98-2000. I could be wrong with the year but it should be around that time. Some type of tribal music and you could also hear whistle, tribal drums and gongs, no singing at all. FYI it is not the whistle song. Thanks in advance!

If anyone has an idea then it wud be much appreciated if u can let me no your thoughts.Think it may be hard house but cant be sure. Hello! Guys, I'm desperate. Help me find 2 songs.
The first song I heard in 1997. The style of music was techno or rave, I'm not entirely sure. I remember that the rhythm was fast and hard. And there was a rude male voice that shouted:- "Boss, boss, move your body! Boss, boss, move your body! ". The music was very energetic and incendiary. I can also add that the voice was a little hoarse. As far as I remember, there were only these words in the song. There were no other choruses in it. All the rest of the time, there was fast music. In the style of fast techno or rave. Now it's hard to say for sure.
The second song I heard in November 2003. The style of music was trance. In the music there was a sound like a violin, possibly remade on a synthesizer. And yet I'm not sure that this sound was exactly like a violin, maybe a little bit. There was a male melodic voice of medium tonality. Unfortunately I do not remember the lyrics exactly. I remember only the words in the chorus:- "Hasta la vista, baby hold on". Then after this chorus the same music was like a violin. Then there were many words of the song. Of which I remember:- "i don't know" , " just a dream". I do not remember anything else. But I'm pretty sure that the rhythm style of this song started early 2000's, not the 90's!
And most importantly, this song and music have nothing to do with the Terminator and Schwarzenegger !!!

I will first leave a gift of music as it seems appropriate for this pretty amazing thread. Following this I am going to describe a house track from late 1990’s - early 2000’s that evading every effort to identify it....I’m hoping one of you disciples of house will know:
1. Mr jack and Olivier gossaries - back from Hawaii ep (chunky pumping speed garage)
2. Black up - ganja (see description #1 - add a little swing)
3. Lava Rouge - Do you want me (bass blast mix) / (see description #1 - add female vocal)
4. Felix da housecat feat Ms Kitten - what does it feel like (Royksopp remix) / (dancefloor grooving vocal and deep)
5. Tom Novy vs Eniac - pumpin (original mix I believe....7 min version)
6. Less oblique - BSOD (analog body jacking goodness)
7. London Grammar - if you wait (riva star remix) / ok this and the previous are post 2010, but worthy additions as I can see their timeless inception into the ranks of the greats
8. Live element feat John ray - over and over (live element dark element remix)
9. Maceo plex and John da Silva - Love somebody else feat joi cardwell
10. The incredible melting man feat DJ capital - Red skull (scissor kicks remix)

Now I am looking for a song that I only saw as a white label vinyl in 2000.

It has a steady heavy kick drum 4/4 rhythm that permeates the track, simple yet heavy and driving.

Female vocal starts in time with the rhythm
“I wanna get funky....I I wanna get funky. I wanna get funky ..... I I wanna get funky. “

Vocal breaks down later and goes “wanna get funky, wanna get funky, wanna get funky.....FUN-KEY”

Rhythm comes back and driving vocal resumes original cadence

Ok, here’s my stumper and trust me I’m saavey at tracking down music. Two separate songs. Both sample “Take me to the Mardi Gras”. The first one is an early 90’s release that has the bell break looped and is most likely sampled from “Peter Piper because it has the beat. There is a faint male voice that says 3 or four words I can’t make out followed by another male voice that says hoo-ha after the last bell in the loop. This basically repeats. It’s a little sped up from Peter Piper.
The next record has a heavy hip hop drum loop that goes for a minute or two then it stops and the the first organ break from Take me to the Mardi Gras comes in but it’s short a couple notes like do, da do, do. Then followed by the same but the third note is a little higher like do, da, do, do then repeated several times and there is slow high pitched scratch like shoop, shooey shoo, shooey, shooey shoo and then then organ break from towards the end of TMTTMG caps it off like do, da, do di, do, da, do and the hip hop beat drops again. Not sure when it was released but it goes hard. I want it! It’s a perfect last song of the night. Somebody hit me back with answer! I’m going nuts!

Not even close! Ha,ha, me and that record are old friends! I appreciate you giving it a shot though. I have a little more info on the first track. The 4 words I couldnt make out before are “got to believe in me” sampled from Fierce Ruling Diva. It’s the Peter Piper beat with two vocal samples over it. That’s all, but the shit bangs. It’s not some original mix either, I’ve heard multiple DJs drop it. It’s not Shazam friendly either. The do’s and da’s are in place of the organ break.

LOL, I was correcting the song title you listed as Time by Al Naafyish. It's actually a track by Hashim called Al-Naafiysh. Not sure of the other tracks you are looking for...
seanfrumthatown 2:07 AM - 27 June, 2018
That was just a typo. I’m quite familiar with that record. I actually tracked down the second song I described. It’s called “Believe Me” by Johnny Vicious. It’s dope if you haven’t listened. Old school hip hop is my specialty, no track I.d questions there. I just recently started building up my house collection and there are some tracks from the early 90’s I can’t find. You wouldn’t happen to own Central Fire-Shout Going Out or Direckt- Two Fat Guitars? Those are the ones I need!

Hey all, hope u can help me with this one, been looking for this one for over 20 years. I only heard it once at a hall party...my friends couldn't help me with it then...and they still can't help me with it now lol.

I don't think there's any other lyrics other than the hook that just gets repeated at various times throughout the song in a slightly deep male voice, something like:

Day-do bugga-do bugga-do day-bop
Day-do bugga-do bugga-do day-bop
Day-do bugga-do bugga-do bugga-do bugga-do day-bop

It's from the same time period when Aly Us - Follow Me was big...in fact they had actually played Follow Me just before they played this song lol.

Hey everyone.

I’ve been looking for this song for over 15 years and it haunts me...

From the 90s- house... only remember part of the chorus.
Female voice....something along the lines of “love has taken hold of my soul and it won’t let me go....”

Please put me out of my misery!!!

Hi...I'm a total house head...got some age on me, been around for the House Scene. Lived in the North East; miss Trax, Bachelors Mill to name a few clubs. Live in California, and had the pleasure of hearing a sample, in the 1990's Still in Love With You, by Melissa Morgan was hot; a male voice shouted the words, "Who told you to turn the music off, muthf****", Does anyone remember who the sample is by?

Thanks!

Hey Spiritdancer!
Big up on your suggestion with Tom Novy vs Eniac - one of my fav tracks ever!

Sorry man, stumped on "I wanna get funky" . . . you definately dont mean C&C Music Factory ;-)

Hey guys,

If this isn't the most awesome Forum ever . . . found it by mistake, and love all the tunes!
Read through all the posts, sampled all suggestions.

Wierd, after finding this forum went through my favorite House (or house similar) tunes, and most of them are from around the 1995 era!!

So here is my short list (sorry if any repeats)

* Todd Terry - Something going on (loop da loop uptown mix)
* Armand van Helden - you dont know me
* Fierce Ruling Diva - Rubb it in
* Spin Spin Sugar - Sneaker Pimps (I know this is a repeat, but so whicked)
* TJR feat. Xavier - Just gets better
* Double 99 - RIP Groove
* Fat Boy Slim - Rockerfeller Skank (not that exciting maybe)
* Run DMC vs. Jason Nevins - Its like that
* Klubbheadz - Kicken Hard
* Off - Electrica Salsa (if anyone rememebrs this?)
* Leftfield - open up
* Candi Staton - You got the love (Perhaps my favorite! the scene in the movie Layer Cake makes this track even better)
* Album: Jonny Viscious - New York in the Mix (a rare album with awesome compilation)
* Album: Daniel Poole - World Sound System (more trance, but so so awesome)
* Album: Trade Volume 4 (Hands down my all time favorite club compilation)

And these tracks are to be considered wierd, but very addictive . . . from the 70's !!
* Andy Forray - Dracs Back (this is soo Disco) (Watchwww.youtube.com)
* Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London (Watchwww.youtube.com)

Keep the posts comming, love this forum!

Hi Guys,

Been searching for a electro track from the 90's for sooooo long, I don't think I will ever find it again.

My not so useful description below;

Beat had a strong but slow DUD, DUN DUN DUN DUN, DUN DUUUN UN.

Male Lyrics were kinda erotic tone along the lines of picking up a girl, (may not be correct): Ive been looking for you..... the chorus ..... Do it from the right, do it from the left, do it all night.

I found it years ago on youtube and swear it had a title of "quashi" or something like that, but obviously not because ive searched that many times with no results.

It was a similar genre and time to "Studio B - I Love Girls".

A couple of tracks that have been eluding me for a couple of decades, (ugh, I'm old). Any help is most appreciated so I can get these ear worms out of my head and onto my decks...

First is a song where a woman is yelling at a man, and then proceeds to call him a very nasty work in Spanish. It starts with an M but I won't spell it out here.

Second is a little harder to explain. I remember it starts out with a woman welcoming people on board some kind of flight and then counting down as if for a rocket launch. 5.... 4.... 3... 2... and she either says Ignition or Lift Off, can't remember which for certain. After that countdown the track goes nuts with some of the coolest beats I've ever heard and a very specific sound like a laser/horn (horrible description I know) that goes dooooooo doo doo dooooooo doo dooooooo over and over.

That second track is the one I've been wracking my brain about the most for years. I know Chris from Mechanized in SLC played it a lot in 1994, if that helps anyone narrow it down.

Hello! I need help ID'ing a track from late 90's or early 2000's. I remember it had a female vocal and I think the only lyrics were" You took your love away from me" then a hard beat dropped in and she would repeat "you took your love, you took your love, You took your love away from me" then the beat would come HARD!

The first mix I heard of it, it either preceded or ended into "You used to hold me"

Help me out, please.

Hi Everyone, I'm Molly and new to the site. I'm looking for an old soul/house track. It's sung by a female, with a good rough voice and the lyrics go ...it's time oh yea oh yea oh yea oh yea it's time I was born in a crossfire hurricane, and I howled at my ma, at the driving rain. ......... it seems to take some of it's lyrics from the Rolling Stones, but it's really nothing like it !!! Very old and original house.... Chicago maybe ..... any help would be great if anyone knows the song.
Thanks

OKAY! I'm hopeful, for the first time in forever, that maybe someone here will have an idea as to what I'm talking about.

There was an ep, back in maybe the mid to late 90's or very barely 2000's, that had about 5 tracks on it. Shiver Me - ADNY Remix was I THINK the 4th track.

But what I've really been jonesing for, for the last x number of years, is the first track.

It was a similarly dreamy deephouse track, but all i know was that there were words repeating over and over "don't worry, don't worry, don't worry, don't worry." And it goes like that, until "don't worry 'bout the (moon, morning?! hell if I know).

Does this ring any sort of bells for anyone? The only track I've been able to find from that ep is the Shiver Me remix, and that was a very fluke one-off.

Thank you for this forum, btw. Regardless of whether or not this leads me to that track, this thread has a world of good stuff on it.

Man. That was too easy, why did I make myself insane for the last 10 years. HA. Thank you SO so much. So it seems I had tracks 3, 4 and 5 from this disc and nothing else.

I'm very excited to go over this thread in more detail and see what kind of gold I can find.

Also, a side note to the person who determined that someone was trying to find The Bomb by Bucketheads - kudos. I read their post and thought "sounds like someone like me, that's gonna be impossible." Then I read the reply, re-read the post, and thought "shit, yep, that's it." Though how they couldn't actually hear the "These sounds fall into my mind" lyrics, I'll never know.

Anyway. THANK YOU!!! xo

I have a question about a 99s house track that has been stuck in my head for a while. The lyrics sang by a female I believe with a high pitch go something like “Feeling like a stranger in the strangest land.” It has lots of synth keyboard sounds that I could easily hum. I'm trying to remember this song probably from the 90's, but I first heard it in late 90's (~1998). It's like a pop/dance or maybe techno song, kinda dark/'misterious' rhythm, and sang by a woman with a mildly deep voice. I think it starts with a continuous thud bass that goes a little bit faster along with the other sound effects and maintain it throughout the music.
I don't remember much of the lyrics because I was ~8 years old when I first heard it (I heard it later, but in early 2000's and I lost the music file) and I'm not a english native speaker. I think the song is not complex and I remember that the chorus goes like
"When I feel you
In my heart
...
When I feel you
and I try to..."

I'm probably wrong about the lyrics, but it's the only thing I can remember. Someone can help me? Thanks a lot!

Hi All

Been looking for a track for ages - I heard it around '99/200 but could be older... I never really got the lyrics, but loved the track - it has a chorus line with a lady singing (blues style -almost shouting) something like:
"If not for you babe"
then a kind of backup singer goes something like:
"It's all I got" (the got is extended like goh-hot)
Repeat "If not for you babe - It's all I goh-hot"

Like I said I didn't really get the lyrics... Any help is appreciated :)!
RedHorse 5:47 PM - 10 May, 2019
Hello to all,

I have been driving myself crazy trying to find a couple of old hard house tracks from the mid to late '90's. They were songs that I heard "in the mix" live on the radio back in the Los Angeles area (like KIIS FM in L.A. or 99.1 KGGI from San Bernardo County in California) and the CDs that these songs may have appeared on are likely out of print at this point.

Both tracks feature female vocals. The first track has a mid-temple beat (with a rhythm similar to da da (pause) da (pause) da). The song had a verse and a chorus and I remember parts of the lyrics, again sung by a female, which go like this in no particular order: "I'm not gonna take it anymore", "Found another lover that's better than you" (or something along those lines), "What goes around, comes around", "So if you didn't know, well now you do(?)". The version I heard also sampled male vocals from "Work It To The Bone" repeating the "Come On Let's Work" during the chorus of the song. I tried to find this song by lyrics but none of them are from this track. I did manage to find a very small sample of the vocals in a mix on YouTube from Global House by D.J. Lil Cesar (1996) that appears in the intro mix (at the 2:27 mark) youtu.be but it does not appear on the rest of the album, much to my disappointment.

The second song had a mid-tempo as well and main rhythm went something like "daaaa, da, da, daa, da) and a female voice singing "Show me nooooooooooooow/Do you want to take me?" and then another male vocal taken from another track that sounded like he said "Countdown!" and plays on with the music with an occasional "Countdown!" thrown in. I have also tried looking this song up by lyrics as well but to no avail.

I have listened to countless house mixes on YouTube to find these songs, even going so far as to dust off the old tape player and listen to my old tapes that I recorded off the radio in hopes that I had it recorded on tape but no suck luck! Any leads or ideas would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

The second song is called the journey by DJ nick

Is anyone familiar with a sample “get on your horse & ride”? It preceded Sing It Back (to me), the Donna Summer version I’m sure. Way before Moloko. I’m thinking late 90s/very early year 2000 but idk.. I was sure it was some George Acosta house but I can’t nail it down.
My apologies for barging in. Any heads up appreciated.

Help Househeads there is an old house 90ish (i think) song that starts with a male voice acapella or very little music intro and hes sounds like he is telling a mini-story, "there is a green colored key and another color? then he says something like to unlock this world and repeats wooorld" and the word world is stretched out singing and then beat comes in...either that or it is an acapella saying that and can be mixed into to any house song. help me find this!

Wassup all, after years of research i decide to try and get help ;)

Looking for a Vocal House song for the past 24 years!! i wish i could get a time machine and go back with my ipod and shazam the damn song lol

so like i say it's a vocal house sing by a man the era should be around '93-'95 (ear it in 1995) the guy sing pretty smooth and he say what's this thing about love, calling the name... insolizing heart (not sure about the insolizing word!) i know it's not much but i search almost everywhere in my huge collection of classic house but without luck my last hope is going thru my hundred of tape that i just reacquire from my parent basement storage. the tempo is in the range of ten city that the way love is (with byron stingily mellow voice) could also be a garage or uk house anyway hope anyone could help me find this one it's a rare classic tho because i never heard it back and i've been around house since the 80's!

thanks in advance

Hello Friends.

2 Things:

My best house classics late 90's is

Fix - Flash
Mark v & Poggie Ber - This is Los Angeles

and I'm searching for 2 (90's) tracks for the last 15 years...

The first is a kind of "Dj Dero" tracks... I remember I've found this track on buried "Astalavista", and I think the name is "Asla Loucura"... and has a part that a kick starts from slow to high and also have a male vocal screaming "Asssla Loucurraaa", and a second vocal singing "waiting from the people of the planet earth"

The second one is a track that start with a brazilian instrument called Berimbau, and a vocal after that Berimbau singin "Now I've come into your heart baby"....
and repeating "Now I've come in....Now I've come in..."

=) could you help me guys?

2 songs in question....both Late 90's or maybe early 2000's

1) Music Video with Guy Break Dancing -IT IS NOT DAYS GONE BY, Dirty Vegas, but that is what my mind keeps going to.

It was a popular track back in the day, I even remember seeing the video at Cosmic Bowling night when I was MUCH younger 20 years ago. It's killing me that I can't remember the song and I have been Googling forever.

From what I can remember, there is an guy break dancing and he might be wearing a suit or slacks/dress shirt? From what I can remember, the video is just him dancing. It's a house/techno/trance type track, but I can't remember the lyrics or if it even had lyrics.

I initially thought it was a Fatboy Slim Track, but after Googling all his music videos, don't think it it. Then I thought it was Underworld/Born Slippy and nope, not it.

2) Another techno/house track featuring a train horn/sounds. For you vinyl guys from the late 90's, i remember the DJ from the bar I worked at, it was on the B-Side of another popular track. Don't believe there were lyrics, but there I remember there was a really cool part where everything stops and then it goes REALLY slow and then SPEEDS up with the a riff that goes high pitch to low pitch like: Bum-di dum-di dum-bu da duh da, Bum-di dum-di dum; Bum-di dum-di dum-bu da duh da, Bum-di dum-di dum and repeats the beat faster and faster. Def a train themed type song and it's not any of the Horn or Train songs I Googled and was able to find on Youtube. What sucks is, it might just have been a Dj's mix of someone else's song, but I can't remember the name or if there were lyrics.

Just thought I would take a shot here. Thanks,

Nope, not those either. Robejz is prob right, it was a mix from an obscure DJ. I appreciate the responses..... I'm kicking myself in the ass because I lost 2 folders of CD's from back on the day that had all mixed CD's and albums of my favorite tracks from back then. Hi all,

Amazing thread. I am really hoping someone can help me out. I had totally forgotten about this tune until I heard it a few weeks ago but didn't have Shazam or anything available.

I'd say it was early 90's no lyrics just an amazing electronic dance tune, not techno I wouldn't say. An amazing intro which just builds and builds.

It is sort of built around the theme tune to this kids TV show from the 80s or at least that's the nearest I can get to it.

www.google.com

The theme tune has similar characteristics though it's not a straight samole

It's not energy 52.

Thanks in advance.

God, someone here help me please.

Probably from the late 90s possibly mid 90s, male vocal might have been individual might have been harmony..

"And they danced to the music, and they got down to the beat."
Di-di-di-di-duh-duh (then handclaps)
Di-di-di-di-duh-duy (then more handclaps)
"And they danced to the music, and they got down to the beat."
Di-di-di-di-duh-duh (then handclaps)
Di-di-di-di-duy-duh (then more handclaps)

That's the chorus and then there's verses I do not remember the lyrics to, but then at the end just before the fade out it goes:

"And they're dancin', They're Dancin', THEY'RE DANCIN"!!"

Christ almighty this was the closing track on a mixtape or CD I (once) had might have been something a friend mixed for me personally, might have been a local dj (L.A.) mixtape, might have been a commercial mix CD, cannot remember at this point this is gonna put me in my grave soon if I cannot find out this song!

Hi all,
just found this forum and sure you can hep me!
I'm trying to find a track since very long time, last time I listen was played by Dave Morales in early 2000.
The track started with a huge voice (similar Berry white but not him) screaming something like:

Mohavieen..!! and then huge crowd screaming back

After couple of loops like that starts a loop guitar-like very hypnotic.
A friend of mine years ago told me that the name could be: Voice in LA, but never found something with this name.

Thanks in advance!

1. Red hot chilli peppers : By the way (Parkside remix)
2. It has the vocal of lumidees never leave you with Beyoncé crazy in love beat behind it. No idea what it’s called
3. Green velvets la la land back beat with a girls vocals “discotekka this beat will make you wetter” again I think
It’s called discotekka but impossible to find.

Any help in identifying these and even more so to be able to get these tracks for myself would be unreal. Thanks heaps everyone

Hey All - looks like a lot of people have been successful with finding the songs they were looking for so figured I would try my luck as well! I believes it’s the late 90s possibly 2000s and It’s a female vocal song, very lounge like in genre and extremely sexual. Basic premise of the song is her describing a sexual encounter with her man in a very detailed fashion. She has a very sexy voice and again is extremely extremely detailed about her sexual acts but I can’t remember any of the lyrics specifically. Been searching for it for hours with no luck. Hopefully someone here knows what I’m talking about and can help.

Thanks in advance everyone !!

Hell yes!! Junior Byron "Dance to the Music" - it might have been a sample cause the original is from 1983. Anyway this is definitely it! Fabulous record.

There is a lot of late 90s house out there. It is sad that most of which will never see the light of day on commercial radio.

Can anyone help with the name of a song from the mid to late 90's. It had a sample from the song you should be dancing (Bee Gees). It was a deep house song DJ's like Richard Humpty Vission, Bad Boy Bill, Tony B, DJ Enri would play at the clubs.

Greetings All: I have come to this forum hoping to discover the name of a track from way way back and the artist who created it. I recorded the track off the radio in the late 90's - early 2000's off a club music program called "Metropolis" in LA. The song is AMBIENT HOUSE with vocal dub's. Or at least that's my best guess. It's hard to classify. It's like the Orb with a gangsta attitude. I'm sure that helps. Anyway - It's about 5 minutes. The driving element on the track is the drums/percussion. Really strong percussion. The track begins with sort of ambient atmospheric sound along with a guitar lightly strumming a chord progression and the gental tapping of a cymbal...some synthesizers are in the background. Next, the drum beat begins mid tempo just snare, bass drum and hi hat, joining the same guitar progression. It repeats then the tempo increases some more. It continues until the voice of an old black man comes in.." THE WHOLE WORLD SEEMED TO CHANGE . The music stops momentarily with the the vocal then resumes for a few bars before a repeat of .."THE WHOLE WORLD SEEMED TO CHANGE"... then some melodramatic emotional strings come in and start to build and the guitar changes to like a wah wah funk... the tempo increases and the bass comes in more....then comes in another vocal dub of a younger man saying..."IT'S PSYCH OUT THERE AND....IT'S PUSHIN' ME TO THE EDGE ....AND, I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S LUCIFER HISSELF OR WHAT..BUT HE'S COLLECTING A LOT OF THEM OUT THERE ......AND HE'S DAMAGING THEIR BRAINS". The emotional strings rise and fall the tempo continues and then a woman's voice comes in with a melodic vocal section ( no words) which gets repeated then, with the tempo staying fast and with the 'high hat percussion getting more pronounced the track closes out with vocal dubs...."CHECK IT OUT"...." "YOU HAVE TO BE BAD.....JUST BE BAD"...." "JUST BE BAD".
Sorry for the length. Maybe I should of gone without the music description. Anyway if anyone can throw me a bone I would be so grateful. I know its before 2002 if that can help. Peace to you ALL.

Oh trust me I know. My main record store doesn't get any house records. So I have to check some other stores to see if I can find more.

I do use discogs, I just have to id the tracks because so many tracks I heard back then but didn't know the artists nor titles.

I was a big Hip-House fan as well, so I have to find those cuts too. I have so many videos on vhs but didn't have the vinyl at the time.

Hello! Awesome Forum! I have a song in my head from my high school years but, no clue who sang it. It's just a quick house mix with a guy rapping, funky beat, and the words were like, "deep baby, like deep sugar...put some mustard on my chest." I know! Probably NOT what he was saying but, that's what it sounded like he was saying. LOL There's a woman in background on certain parts. Anyone gets this, they're a Wizard! LOL. Thanks from Chi-Town!

You might want to add Ghetto House to the equation since its heyday was in the 90s. Some of the tracks listed are classified as such. However, you may want to add songs like "Watch It" by Robert Armani to that list.

There's a song I've been looking for that I can't seem to find. It was late 90s, early 2000s, euro trance/house. The only lyrics I can remember is some girl "i'm in love, i'm in love, i'm in love" and the music video is of the DJ going on tour playing so many shows and burning out, looks like a zombie at one point in the music video like he's done too many drugs. There's some speedup/time lapse as it shows him going through the tour, people moving really fast around him while he kind of just wanders around the scene.

If that rings a bell with anyone please let me know!

Hello I need help with two track id’s.
And I know they’re both really long shots. The first sounds a bit like Technique-this old house or ray kerbs rocket or me-his soul stew but the difference is the main melody line is hummed / sung and the whole start of the song starts Beat boxed but then builds to a normal track?

I would guess this around 2006 - 2008

Second tune is even more of a long shot because I don’t have much to go on.
I heard Crazy p play it at a festival in 2016 it’s a minimal/loft house track ( would mix really well with Pepe Bradcocks burnt deep, it has a rising choir chords and off beat wood block and high pitched repetative vocal sample saying how ho ha ho ha ?

I realise this is a lot to ask, but if you can help it would be amazing. Cheers

Hello All: Wow, just ran across this thread about 3 hours ago searching for classic house tracks, lots of classics being posted.
Wonder if anyone can help me with a song that came out around 1992-93
If anyone remembers the deep house song Taxi C.A.B- Son of a beatnik, it came out around that time. The song was mostly a house Instrumental track, it was a male in the song saying 'be free'
throughout most of the track, I'm from Detroit and most of the dj's back then played it in their mix. Haven't heard it in years, but every once in awhile It'll pop in my head.
Hope this will jog someones memory, the track was tight from what I remember.

Thanks In Advance

The intro is from Jerome Moross 'The Big Country' which is scratched in over a beat. The beat carries on for about 8 bars then the Big Country intro comes back in, then back to the beat and then a girl screams "Ibeeeeetha" then its back to the beat! Any help is appreciated. NB: it's not 808 state or KLF

I know this is a long shot but when I lived in Chicago I think it was at the Funky Buddha Lounge there was a song that repeated the phrases, “thank you thank you” and something like “you made a way true love is here to stay”. It was gospel like and sung by a girl group, does anyone know the name of the song?

Hello there, wondering if anyone would have any leads on this track I heard in a set from 2012!

Starts around 1:24:23

Searching different parts of the lyrics that I could make out has not given me any good google results as they’re largely general and explicit..... any help is appreciated!

Anyone know of an ambient house song with lyrics "Runnin for the shelter, run til you get high" and another part with "if you see the Buddha in the sky"- Really smooth and groovy.

Hi - can someone please help me out. I have been trying for a long time to find the name of a song. It's a late 90s/early 2000 house song sort of a "tribal" house beat with a girl singing "dance with me tonight with these funky drums" to the beat of bongos sorta like sume sigh say. Basically it's the girl singing on the song with the bongo beats as the main feature of the song (I could be wrong on what she's actually saying but it sounds like that).
Much appreciated if anyone can help me! Thanks!

The bongos playing are similar to this sound on this video: starting at 2:30

Hey all you 90s experts.... Please help me ID this track. I got it from a fitness tape in 1998 so it's from somewhere around 1996 -1998.

It clips a LOT of tracks but mainly 'The End- You Drive Me Wild'. However I know it's not a remix of "You Drive Me Wild" because it's not catalogued in Discogs anywhere, nor is it on WhoSampledThat.com

Experts, please... help a music lover out! Thanks in advance! :-)

Hi guys, I got this House song in my head probably from 90s or earlier, could be late, mid, or early 90s. Don't know the name of it, but I'm struggling finding it. It has like a super catchy melody and there's like some rap in it. The guy starts rapping in the mic, the song has a piano to it heavily too, it's basically the song.

The guy goes something like this "hip hop is now get out movin, are you really out there?"
Also he goes
"get a new control get a new control gotta let you know"

Idk if he says "get a new control" but these are the words I really think he said which is "get down" and "get movin" or "get out movin".. The piano is up beat & the tempo of the house song feels energetic. Hopefully that helped narrow down the search :/ if only I can remember it clearly. Pretty sure its classic tho

Who can help solve this mystery house track before I die? Probably no one with the absolutely useless description I am about to give. It was a house track that I first heard being played around 1993.

It started off with a slow wind sort of sound quickly followed but a short drum type beat and then a slow deep piano synthesiser section before a woman starts to sing. It is not a particularly fast or upbeat house track and is mainly the piano section and drum beat section.

Would that be slow "wind" as in winding a clock or rewinding a record, or "wind" as in air velocity?

This is a long shot but I’m trying to find a house/techno song from around 1998. It was on one of those mixed cassettes that I bought in the city back in the day lol. The beginning of the song has a woman going woo..woo..woo.. over and over. Then there’s beats and toward the middle of the song she’s starts singing something fast that I can’t decipher. It sounds like “I know you’re (something).” And then there’s more beats. If it helps, the song before it was “over 4 me” and the song after it was “x-cuse me (sunglasses). Sorry, I know this is very vague

Hi, I’m looking for a song out mid to late 90’s

It had a deep baseline like Sandy b and was probably out around the same time

The only recollection I have of it is what I remember as a deep female vocal which is think started as ‘dirty lies’ or similar, then a pause, duh duh duh duh duh-da, another line some words maybe ‘hurt somebody’ possibly ending with up and down, and maybe one day will come. None of this probably makes sense!

it’s driving me crackers!

It sounds like acid-house, and the lyrics are like "chords, music.....music, chords"....the song that is mixed in with this song is "Helter Skelter" 1997 by Meat Beat Manifesto, but I am looking for the song in the background with the military acid-house beat.

Hi everyone

I've been looking for this particular song for a very long long time from the late 80's early 90's it's a deep house song not sure I know that it's mixed alot by DJs with Miami 80s hip hop and with plant soul and no it's not white label
The lyrics say:
Feel my temperature rise as I look into you into your eyes
The drum beat sound like hitting metal if that helps
Please any help where to find this song would be greatly appreciated

Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to find this song/remix from around 1995-ish, although I am not sure of the time frame though. A portion of the lyrics are:
Oh, oh because,
Oh, oh because,
Oh, oh because, I will be right here.
Oh, oh because, I will be right here.
And it just repeats in the mix. There are more lyrics to this mix but I can't get beyond the hook which is listed above. Does anyone know what the name of this song might be? It used to be mixed with The Nightcrawlers' Push the Feeling On, which was played on the station WBMX (the station has changed names since then, I think it is now called WVON, maybe) and WGCI ( in Chicago) or B96 (also in Chicago). I would greatly appreciate finding this song/remix. Thanks in advance.

Ok, new to the board and have a House track I've been desperately trying to find for years. I used it in a mixtape I made somewhere around 1993, possibly late 92 or so. There's a woman singing in a language other than English, can't even begin to id the language, but it almost sounds like an African language. On the chorus, there's what sounds like a large group of children singing "Wey, wey, weywayweeey, Wey, wey, wee-eey weyweywey" a few times then she's back to singing.

I found it once completely by random maybe 10 years ago but lost the name of the song and everything when the PC I was using suffered a catastrophic drive failure and I lost everything, including the bookmark for that track.

Sounds familiar to anyone?

Hey guys been tracking this discussion and you all are Rockstars helping one another! Maybe you can help me out. I've been stuck on a song that gets played on a lot of old house mixes form the 90's but could never seem to find. I want to say this track is early to mid 90's. Its a horn track that goes over and over
Tun Tun Tun Tun Tan Tun Tun Tun Tun Tan Tun
when the horns are going and though out the song you can hear a dudes voice and it kind of sounds like he's saying the letters " L O " like the L O V E part before the song breaks on the song I'm Gonna Love U by the Summer Junkies
the main chorus is sung by a chick that sings
"Uh give it to me give it me Uh give it to me yeah yeah" ..... over and over or maybe its saying
"Love give it me give it to me Love give it to me yeah yeah"
I'm pretty sure it says love because I came across a Bust A Grove track that sampled it and in the title it had the word love.
Weird description i know but I'm sure one you OG's are going to crack this one easy. Thanks in advance.

I need to put together some cd's for some promoters that consist of some vocal commercial house classics house remixes of popular tracks from the 1996-2000 era.

Hi all. I'm new here but from what I've read in the comments, this seems like the place where house music dreams are made! I'm looking for a track that a friend gave me on a mixtape in the 90s, I think 1996/97. It's a mid-tempo remake of Honey by Mariah Carey, covered by a male vocalist. The beat and rhythm are similar. Please, please if anyone knows where I can find it, I've looking for years. I'd be eternally grateful....

I'm a few years late but...
Sounds like a remix of Africa but it was sampled from chemical bros. Old hard house I'll look through my stuff and send the mix with the kids chanting so you can check it out. Pretty sure it was mike something bass remix

I'm looking for a remix too if anyone can help. Had it once before but can't find it anywhere.

It's a remix of madison ave dont call me baby and it's mixed with another house song, probably 2001-2004 era. It doesn't have the full lyrics of the original song, but it starts off "baby, baby, baby, baby, baby....." before the rest of the lyrics come in. The other song is along the lines of 'smoke machine in beats mix' but has a much different drop

For late 90's vocal/commercial house classics, consider tracks like "Finally" by CeCe Peniston, "Show Me Love" by Robin S., and "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)" by Crystal Waters. For current disco/funky house, try artists like Purple Disco Machine or Joey Negro. Miami House with deep vocals could include tracks by Hot Since 82 or Maya Jane Coles.
