I have built a small Mac app that I think some of you might find useful. It's called CrateSync.

Basically it solves one specific annoyance: your Serato crates being out of sync with your actual folders. Most of you will know the situation... you add a bunch of new tracks, do some folder cleanup, and suddenly your crates are a mess again. I got tired of fixing that manually.

The way it works: you link a folder to a crate once, and whenever you hit sync, CrateSync updates the crate to match — adds what's new, removes what's gone. That's pretty much it. It never touches the audio files themselves, just the crate index.

There's also a thing where it can look at your whole folder structure and build the matching subcrate hierarchy in one go, which is handy if you've got a deep folder setup.

It runs in the menu bar (if you chose so in the settings) so it stays out of the way, and it keeps a log so you can see what changed after each sync.

Backing up your complete Serato folder (or just the subcrate files) is also covered with the app!

It's free, macOS only (13+), works with both Serato Pro and Lite.

I also want to give credit to DJ Wendel Lemos and his Serato Sync tool — CrateSync wouldn't exist without the groundwork he laid.
