PETITION: Scratch bank feature to be available to other DJ Controllers + Mixers

DjSyndic8 2:31 AM - 28 May, 2026
====================================

If enough DJs show interest, Serato might finally consider enabling Scratch Bank on more hardware.

Please post your country, DJ controller, mixer, or DJ hardware so Serato can see which devices the community needs supported the most.
This could help them prioritise which units get Scratch Bank access.

⚠️ Only Serato knows why Scratch Bank isn’t available on all hardware.
I have no idea whether they’ll act on this, even if the response is huge — but I hope they unlock the feature for everyone.

I personally own the DDJ‑SX2 and DDJ‑SR2, and I’d love to see Scratch Bank enabled on both. Fingers crossed.

According to A.I and it may or may not be correct information
====================================
Why Serato limits it
1. Hardware integration

Scratch Banks need:
> pad pages
> LEDs
> oading behavior
> deck focus behavior
> performance mode handling

Serato prefers:
✅ officially tested mappings
❌ random unsupported mappings

because otherwise users blame Serato when:
> pads behave incorrectly
> LEDs desync
> banks misload
> audio glitches occur

2. Manufacturer support
A lot depends on whether:

Pioneer / Numark / Denon / Roland etc.
actually update the controller firmware and mappings.

Some older controllers are basically abandoned.

Thanks and good idea @DjSyndic8. I own a Numark Scratch and DDJ XP2 which both do not have the ability to access Scratch Banks.

My mixer features a "Scratch Bank" function, but unfortunately, I can't really make use of it—I don't think I've ever actually used it. What I find annoying is that when you activate it, the Scratch Bank track loads completely, overwriting whatever track was loaded previously; that original track then has to be reloaded from scratch. That is precisely why I don't use the feature. If it worked by crossfading—allowing for a seamless transition—then I would definitely use it.

…or if your hardware has a shift button, pressing shift + one of the scratch bank pads and it’ll load the previous loaded track.

Thanks for the tip—I'll definitely give it a try.

I’d like to see the scratch banks, not only on more mixers, but sub-controllers too. Many mixers simply don’t have the pads/buttons for scratch banks, but sub-controllers do. SP-1, XP2, Reloop Neon etc etc. Carrying a controller in the record bag is relatively hassle free, and opens up whatever mixer is available. I don’t see the sense in limiting features on these devices.

I have the full SDP Suite, and a DDJ-XP2. Please enable Scratch Bank for the DDJ-XP2! I’d love to have that feature.
