Serato deserves a flagship controller that truly unlocks its full potential

Hi Serato team and fellow DJs,

Serato keeps expanding its creative universe — advanced FX, Stems, Slip Mode, Beat Jump, and many more — but there are fewer and fewer controllers that provide the physical access needed to use these functions in a live, instinctive, and expressive way.

Without dedicated knobs, buttons, and performance sections, the workflow becomes fragmented. DJs end up using only a fraction of Serato’s capabilities — not out of choice, but because the tools to reach them simply aren’t there. The result is a paradox: Serato offers the most powerful DJ platform available today, yet it’s rarely experienced at its full potential.

Older controllers like the DDJ-SX or SZ series gave us the tactile control that turned Serato into a real instrument. Newer ones, while more refined, often lose that immediacy. What’s missing is a modern flagship controller designed around Serato — not adapted to existing standards, but built to fully embody its creative vision.

Serato has the potential to lead the next evolution of DJ performance — but that evolution needs a true instrument to live through.

Serato doesn’t need to be “compatible” with controllers. It needs to be played like an instrument.
