Test with the 1.5 Beta version works! The controller is recognized by Itch. Is this the only solution?

Thanks for the reactions, Pascal.

It could be an issue with Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6).
Does 1.2 work if you plug in the controller BEFORE starting ITCH?
JNT 7:03 PM - 1 December, 2009
Dear Goran, thanks for the quick answer. Are there already test results with OS 10.6.2, the problem is that this is the standard OS with my MacBook...

When I connect the Denon without starting Itch, the message "Initialize Completed!" appeared after a few seconds. Starting Itch 1.1 give me the message "Hardware Disconnected" on the Mac, the message on the Denon stays "Initialize Completed!"

Starting Itch 1.5 works but i've already detected a bug with the Loop Display on the Itch (always "1" is displayed).

Can I change some settings in the Mac preferences or somwhere else?

Thanks for the reactions, Pascal.

Hi,

We can not reproduce the Loop Display bug, on either Leopard or Snow Leopard. The loop correctly changes the number in our tests. Can you still confirm the bug?

I'm not sure what you mean by changing preferences? Is this regarding the reconnection issue? You shouldn't have to change any preferences.

Dear Goran

The problem has been solved! At first I installed the 1.1 version from your website. By checking the enclosed CD I found that this contained a 1.2 version. When I install this 1.2 version everything seems to work normally. It would be better to post this 1.2 version on your website as people expect to find the latest information on this.

The bug in version 1.5 consists of the fact that in Itch the loop remains at “1” and when you activate it an “A” appears in Itch. The loop is actually working out of Denon (you’re able to shorten and prolong it) but nothing changes in Itch except “1” or “A”.

Thank you very much in advance for your feedback on this.

That's good to hear. So you're still on Snow Leopard?

Maybe you're not aware that ITCH has 2 loop styles: manual loops and auto loops.
Manual loops are set by IN1/OUT1, IN2/OUT2. IN3/OUT3. Using those will change the visual slots as "1", "2" or "3"
Auto loop (there's only one slot) is set by pressing AUTOLOOP button. The display will show "A"

I noticed this the other night. I was running 1.5 with the HC5000 out in wild. It worked perfectly BTW. Maybe I'm missing it but how do we know what the beat count is before we start an autoloop, 1/4, 1/2, 1 ,2 ,4, etc. ? Thanks

The auto-loop division will show in the ITCH software.
Use the 1/2 or x2 buttons to halve or double this value :D

Good to hear.
We've seen device reconnection problems on Snow Leopard. If you get those try 1.5.
Cheers.

Goran,

I've installed 1.5. R3 It works fine but... still the same issue with the loop function. You can't see the beat count before starting the Loop. Or maybe i do a wrong manipulation... Like I see it,

In version 1.2, you can select and see in the corner of the Itch-screen the loop time predefined , 1/4, 1/2, 1 ,2 ,4, etc. before starting the Loop function

Version 1.5, it stays on 1 and when you activate it... than you can see in the green area the lenght of the loop but you don't see it in advance.

Thanks!

Ditto on that, same problem with 1.5R2, XP and HC5000.

Oh OK..I see the problem. Yes the autoloop division number is currently broken in 1.5.
We'll try to fix it before the release.
Thanks for the feedback!

Dear,

Itch Version 2.1 had still the same problem with the loop function. Loading a new track lockes the Loop functionality. How do we know what the beat count is before we start an autoloop? This was also with all the other versions after 1.5 R3.

Thanks for the follow up.

Hi JNT,

Have you analyzed all of your files with Set Auto BPM selected?

Sam.

Hi Samuel,

All my files are indeed analyzed with "Set Auto BPM" (range 78-155) but I don’t think this has something to do with it?

The problem is that every time a track is loaded, the Loop function is blocked (locked icon). So you cannot change the loop count before activation. Once activated, you can change it. This is, from my point of view, a bug I've reported since version 1.5. Only version 1.2 worked as it should.

Attached two screenshots. Loop Locked (before activation) & Auto Loop
Thanks.

I can't seem to reproduce this sorry. Can you please let me know the exact build number of the version you are using? You can find this in the bottom left hand corner of the setup screen.

Sam.
JNT 8:54 PM - 31 January, 2012
Hi Samuel,

I've this issue with almost all the versions. Actual version is 2.0.1 Build 20102 Previous test with V2.1 give me the same result (Because of a crash, i'm downgrade back to 2.01)

See also the answer in this discussion from "Goran 6:53 AM 18 December 2009". The same problem was there in version 1.5

Are you doing the test in combination with Denon HC5000?

Just load a track and try to change the Loop Count keys (x1/5 - x2) without first touch the Autoloop button. It's not possible. Once activated the Autoloop (orange color), it's possible to change the Loop count but it's to late. You can't preset a loop from 8 for example! If it's on 8, you can quick deactivate it again. But, somtimes, he's on 1/2 or 1/4.... in fact it's the loop count from the previous activated Loop Count (from an previous played track).

If you load a track, could you change the loop count in advance?

Thanks.

Thanks for the video, I was able to reproduce this. I'll check at where this is at currently, it looks like it has been forgotten about for a while!

I'll also bump the developers on this and try get a fix prioritized a bit higher for an upcoming release. I couldn't say when this will be available currently though.

Sam.

The correct cycle change in the number of tests. You can also Kodak 10 confirm that wrong?
