Serato Software Feature Suggestions

What features would you like to see in Serato software?

Add Spotify Streaming for Legacy DJ Pro clients

Hi Team,

I’d like to request that Spotify streaming support be added to the older DJ Pro clients.

I’m currently using Numark V7s, and since Numark no longer provides updated drivers for the V7, I’m limited to running version 2.3.x (sadly) . While 2.3 does support Tidal streaming, it would be a huge improvement if Spotify could be added as well.

I believe this could still be feasible and would benefit users in similar situations, especially if there’s enough support from the community.

Thanks for considering!

I hate saying this but it might be time to upgrade to something like a rane one maybe.

Old versions will not the updated, I don't think there's a chance.

How about we do this the other way around, get someone to write drivers for our legacy hardware / V7 so we can have support on serato 4.0?

Also bring back all the Rane boxes while we're at it, but this will probably never happen because $

Thanks for the reply!

I already have a ticket open with Numark regarding drivers for the V7s.

The V7s don’t rely on a Serato-enabled mixer — the Serato functionality is built directly into the decks themselves (RCA outputs and USB ports on the back). I just use a standard mixer for blending.

Because of that, the only real upgrade path would be replacing both the decks and the mixer with a new setup. Seems like a waste to get rid of hardware that does the job sans spotify streaming.

Hopefully adding Spotify support to DJ Pro 2.3 (which already works great with SoundCloud and Tidal, both of which I use) could be possible. 🙂

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Despo. I don't see Serato going back to an old build to add a new feature that has already been released in a newer build, especially that far back.

If the hardware has been discontinued/become legacy, it's hard for me to think that either company would invest in the software development of older backwards compatibility for discontinued hardware.

Hardware/software companies want you to pay and upgrade these days. Old days of hardware lasting 10+ years is a just a bittersweet memory for me now.
