they have all the 90s armand mixes (spin spin sugar, sugar is sweeter, professional widow)
stuff you can probably find on older ETV or Promo only...with some digging...
but stuff i dont ever see on CC, Strictly, yourremix, smash

and for Halloween, I always wish I had...

DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - Nightmare on My Street :)

** Apparently there was a video at one time...to quote Wikipedia**

The song's release coincided with the fourth Nightmare on Elm Street film A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, but producers at New Line Cinema were not pleased. A video allegedly shot for the single was buried, and a disclaimer was hastily included on each pressing indicating that the record and the single was not officially affiliated with the "Nightmare" property. However, Jive Records ended up releasing the soundtrack to the next film, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.

SNOOPDOGG VS C - MURDER

A-swift i know U say that U were in the studio when this song was made & I am not disputing that but the fact is the first person who posted on this thread about this song was correct.

The song was initially release on Snoop Dogg's album on No Limit (I think it was "Top Dogg" or something like that). It was NOT released as one of the main songs they were promoting. It got MASSIVE play down here in the south WITHOUT the benefit of a video & no clean version at the time. It featured Snoop, C-Murder & Mr Magic.

About 1 year later it was re-released....the exact same version, not a remix/noty remade or anything, basically unchanged, but now obn C-Murder's album. Unlike on Snoop's album from a year earlier where it WAS NOT one of the featured singles (although it was an Underground hit), on C-Murders album it was in my opinion the only good track & was the featured & promoted single that included a video.

People therefore know it as C-Murder's song but 1 year earlier was a song on Snoop's album.

This is true but the credits on the Snoop Album say C-murder Feat. Snoop and Mr. Magic while the other songs all say Snoop Featuring whoever. This might have been thrown onto snoops album to boost sales but it could have still been C-murder's song.

It's like the Jeezy and Jay-Z song on Jay's recent album. That was originally intended for Jeezy's album but Jay said he was taking it.

I say again MY12inch has the video Down for my N's with an intro that sounds like it aint my fault by Silk the Shocker it's hot. It is called DOWN FOR MY Hitters you can change the audio if you like. I will post the vidoe so you can see not download if you like... But can't do until after work. Video quailty and sound are not so hot on MY12inch but if they were they would give a lot of pools a run for their money. I can play one bad audio/video every now and then..... Old hip-hip they have a good selection some I didn't have. You can sign up for a 3 day trail for like 5 dollars and it is worth it. If you do it by pay pal be sure to cancel the one that say after 3 days $50 or you will be chagred..Be sure to look into VDJ tools they really do have some nice intros for most of the hits..... If they ever redo the vids I would for sure be a member just for the oldschool. Best part no rinigtone crap on the vids although there text stay on there longer and are on the front and the back of the vids.....

Ok, this time I'm not kidding. I really did chill with Egyptian Lover on a video shoot a few years ago. His homie Snake Puppy from LA Dream Team was chillin too but I didn't know him so I didn't speak to him. The video was for one of his newer songs not the old stuff everybody knows.

He came out and checked out a Laker game with me last year, I should have tried to convince him to produce a video for some of the old jams. I bet even the youngsters would notice that. That's how they do.

For Me 90s in SoCal was my favorite time for music.

I know people always seems to jump on the "music sucks now compared to the 90s," but it's so true.

I'd kill to have all my 90s tracks on video. I'd love to have a spot that only wanted the old school joints.

Dub and I been spinning at that 90's spot in Huntington Beach. ONLY 90's music all night long. Man, I gotta tell you that I look forward to it. I look forward to taking a break from all the Lil Weezy, Stanky Legg requests. We play more than just hip hop though. We play all the joints from the 90s.

I shot a quick promo down there last time Dub was on. Checkit:

fcprod1 8:03 PM - 14 December, 2009
yeah but that vid is from another one of baby bash's video. I think they just cut /chopped up the Cyclone vid and made it seemed like it was that outta control vid. Thats weak.

why would you play a video from another song for the sake of playing a video. Sorry but I consider that weak. I know you disagree but hey its all good.
If i dont have a vid then i will play an ambient or shadow dancer not another video from a different song.
a-swift 9:15 PM - 15 December, 2009
I make videos from other footage all the time. Obviously you edit out any lip flap but how would you know the footage is from another video without the lip flap. Especially if it's from another song that is not well known.

A LOT of vjs do exactly this. I know Kris and Roonie G do it. He's my favorite.
fcprod1 10:52 PM - 15 December, 2009
I understand what u r saying but to me just doesnt make sense. i'd rather just play a visual. To each his own.
djbigboy 12:40 AM - 16 December, 2009
when i don't have the actual video for a particular song, I have made video loops that have my logo and the clubs logo, maybe some pics or whatever, and I use that as a default for the night...when i do a different club, I update the file with whatever I made for that clubs...it kinda works nice, because when you are mixing in and out of songs, you are marketing youself...er, myself... I don't like to do it a lot, I may play 1 - 2 songs a night w/o video if even that many

itunes has Brick videos, but the dudes are all old performing live at a concert

I keep seeing infomercials for those Midnight Special music performances on DVD. Might be worth getting for some of you video editors.
Rick Hodgkins 10:27 PM - 18 January, 2010
I would love to see a series like that also.

I bought that Midnight Special edition 3 years ago.
There are quite a few Soul Train clips as well as American Bandstand.
Its quite a series although some of the audio is a little ratty, having the coverage is awesome.
I would have to guess they added a disc or two since then, I don't have any footage.

Never forget the night I first saw it on the tube.
I was up all night and had just donated a kidney and was immobilized physically and pretty loopy on drugs watching the infomercial trying to remember the phone number because I couldn't find or reach a pen to write it down. Thank God for the internet...

There are some great tracks that are just not available anywhere else.

Netsearch is another priceless resource for tracks some of you are asking for.

Magic Mike - Drop the Bass

DJ Magic Mike is now an active club VJ (living in Florida). Makes some of the sickest video edits I've seen, he plays out House of Blues over here fairly regularly. He's one of those guys that makes a custom video to every track he plays and they're all exclusive, non shared edits. Hell of a turntablist too, and he's a SSL + VSL brother as well. I have a lot of respect for the work he puts into it.

I don't think he even made a video to his own songs. And if he did, I seriously doubt anyone would have a copy but himself, just like the rest of his video edits.

There are two videos. One with Steve Perry singing it and one with the new guy. Both are live. Haven't seen any others.
FunkyRob 1:36 AM - 14 May, 2011
For Journey I use an old edit that I got from 8thwonder a long time ago, after they "re did" their site, they don't seem to have it anymore. Bunch of odd remix/mashup versions now.

The one I have uses the standard Steve Perry live video and the audio appears to be a Classic Party Rockers edit.

Xtendamix has 2 versions. One where they used the studio audio, and the other has kind of a house beat.
Millz 2:07 AM - 14 May, 2011
the house beat one is most likely a Select Mix
DJMark 1:50 PM - 15 May, 2011
I think the Journey was the first video edit I did where I synced a "studio" recording to a live clip (from their greatest hits DVD). Besides that, all I did was quantize the first 32 beats of the piano so it could be transitioned into reasonably cleanly, and made a cold ending.

Back to "wish there was a video"...Beastie Boys "Girls". No doubt they could have come up with something amusing for that...

True. Haven't seen all of either movie in a LONG time, but I just think there are more scenes in Young Guns that would fit the lyrics of the song. Will have to watch it again. Plus it's hard to see the guys in Three Amigos as "bad ass" lol.

I saw those guys live on thursday night. they sold a lot more tickets than i would have ever imagined. and they had a really good stage show. But they smoked like 12 joints on stage and i kept having to pump out the fog machine so the cops couldnt tell it was them smoking the joint.
Millz 9:16 PM - 31 January, 2012
Whats wrong with that? :D
FunkyRob 11:45 PM - 31 January, 2012
whoever edits some bone thugs videos needs to put translation text at the bottom so we can understand what the hell they are saying

I talked to Treasure Fingers a couple years ago about that song and he said he was working on a concept for the video but I guess it didn't get finished.
djpuma_gemini 8:26 PM - 2 February, 2012
well someone needs to take it from him
DJ Soup 8:30 PM - 2 February, 2012
I'll have to bug him again about it and let him know he's got a bunch of videos DJs waiting for it. I'm sure he's probably sick of that song by now haha
Steve Dub. 8:43 PM - 2 February, 2012
I still play that song a lot. Love the vibe.

We just posted Treasure Fingers - Crusaders @ Smashvidz
djpuma_gemini 4:37 PM - 3 February, 2012
We're looking for cross the dancefloor. I did dl that crusaders though.
tomatoslice 4:50 PM - 3 February, 2012
yea, that crusaders vid is what made me remember the other one.

for that chromeo remix...
i could easily take that Anzaldo dance version and set it to my edit.
but i don't like repeating video too much. some loops i see, especially when there is a time line to a video, out of place really bug me. i know it's a necessary evil but until i am better at what i do i won't do it, unless it's a personal edit.
i am sure someone esle can make a good version.

To this day one the most requested songs for me. I guess this would be called a timeless song.
tomatoslice 8:06 PM - 13 February, 2012
i hadn't heard it until a few weeks ago. a few places play it here a lot but so far i have not had even one request.
i just like the song, so i will play it.
DJMark 8:27 PM - 13 February, 2012
I guess Whitney Houston "Love Will Save The Day" deserves a mention in this thread...

Down it Texas its a popular line dance, line dancing is really big down here,,,,so it goes like this. I play all the good stuff then someone will ask for the cupid, the wobble, then electric slide, they don't care about us by MJ, the K-Wang and many more. I use to get upset about playing all these line songs but one day I realized that I get an hour break more or less and for sure people stay on the dance floor and by that I mean all ages young and old.
