SERATO VIDEO UNABLE TO RECORD FULL HOUR VIDEO

Edward Kere 9:11 PM - 22 August, 2024
I need some pointers on why when recording videos using Serato video, the recording is stopped without me knowing and the recording timer is still continuing. I am now forced to record two parts of a whole recording. For example if I want to record a 1hr video mixtape I have to record in two bits of 30min each. I am using a Mac Book Air M1 2020, iOS is Sonoma. And my Serato Dj is version 3.2.0. where do I need to tweak for optimum performance? I really appreciate any kind of assistance.

Hello,
It sounds like you're encountering issues with Serato Video on your MacBook Air M1 (2020) running macOS Sonoma, where the video recording is unexpectedly stopping but the timer continues. Here are a few things to check and possible solutions to improve performance:
1. Serato Video Compatibility with macOS Sonoma
Check for Updates: Ensure that both Serato DJ Pro (version 3.2.0) and Serato Video are fully compatible with macOS Sonoma. Sometimes, updates to macOS can introduce compatibility issues, so check if there are any available updates or patches for Serato Video to improve its performance with the new OS.
macOS Rollback (if necessary): If you updated to Sonoma recently, consider rolling back to macOS Ventura or Monterey if the issue started after the upgrade.
2. Resource Management
The MacBook Air M1 has great performance for general use, but video recording with Serato Video can be resource-intensive, especially when combined with other tasks. Here are a few things to optimize resource usage:
Reduce Background Processes: Close unnecessary applications or background services that might be using up system resources.
Activity Monitor: Open Activity Monitor to check for any processes consuming excessive CPU or memory resources while recording. If Serato is consuming a large percentage of your CPU or memory, it may cause performance drops, including the recording issue.
Disable Other Video Apps: Ensure that no other video apps are running that could conflict with Serato Video (e.g., OBS, QuickTime).
3. Optimize Recording Settings
Lower Video Resolution or Frame Rate: If you're recording at a high resolution (e.g., 1080p or 4K), try lowering the resolution or frame rate to reduce the processing load.
Use External Storage: Recording directly to your internal SSD might be too demanding, especially if your disk space is low. Try recording to an external SSD to free up internal resources.
4. Check Disk Space
Ensure that you have ample free disk space. Video recording takes up significant space, and if your MacBook is running low on storage, the recording could be interrupted.
Free Up Space: Use built-in macOS tools to clear out any temporary files, cache, or unnecessary apps to ensure that your system has enough free storage space during recording sessions. www.yourtexas-benefits.com
5. Check Energy Settings
Prevent Sleep Mode: Make sure your MacBook isn't set to sleep or reduce performance during longer recordings. You can adjust these settings in System Settings > Displays > Energy Saver and set it to prevent your laptop from sleeping or switching off the display during recordings.
Use Power Adapter: Make sure your MacBook is plugged into power during recording sessions, as performance may throttle if you're running on battery power.

If you're experiencing issues with Serato Video being unable to record a full hour of video, it could be related to several factors, such as system performance, storage space, or settings within the software. First, ensure that your computer meets the required specifications and that you have enough available disk space for the recording. You may also want to check the video recording settings in Serato to ensure they're configured correctly. If the issue persists, updating your software or reinstalling it may help resolve any bugs. For additional support, you can check resources or forums. Not sure if it explains your issue but I noticed Serato trucates and starts recording a 2nd new file after a certain amount of time (around 1 hr at full 1080p HQ output)

Check for recently saved video files under _serato_/Recordings or _serato_/Recording Temp - it might have saved the first hour correct and now writing a second file too that just need joining when you've finished the mix.

Serato Video may be unable to record a full hour of video due to system resource limitations, insufficient disk space, or performance issues with the computer. Check available storage, ensure optimal settings for video recording, and close unnecessary applications to improve performance for longer recordings. idmcrack.cloud

Use OBS w/ syphon client. Problem solved.
