the suggestions that have been posted for different of "dance" music have been more than helpful and have given me so many artists to research and hear different music......my problem is that as a mobile dj (not a club or bar dj)....most of the people I play for won't really dance unless they know the song (a bad move on their parts 'cause a great song is a great song)....& there seems to be a finite number of "recognizable" songs to dj a 5-6 hr party & keep the floor packed......I've been doing this since 2000, but obviously tastes change....any help my brother (& sister) dj's can throw my way would be a great asset......keep 'em on the dance floor.....

Julls thank you very much for your list. I remember i really liked a dance music group with a blonde singer but I could remember the name. Initially I thought the group's name was Silver but I remembered the actual name when I saw Lasgo in your list. So the group is Lasgo.

Thanks a lot for your list.

Hey guys,

Back in the London and Dublin clubs around
2000-2001 there was a song always played that I think was in Italian. It was kind of anthem like. May have been based on an opera anthem?

Any clues?

Haven't been on this form in a while, but I'm definitely subbing to this.

I still give Amerie ft Ludacris "why don't we fall in love (remix)" spins. I'll contribute my list soonly

Hey guys.

Im looking for the name of a really great trance track, it was in the out around 2000 or 2001.

It starts of with a deep, slow drum loop with one high pitch "ping" note at the end of the drum loop... like this: boooooom....boom..boom....ping...booooooom....boom..boom...ping.... etc....

After a few loops of those drums and pings a man starts speaking in like a "documentary" lingo about the mountain village people blaah blaah. and then the song starts.

I really need the name of that track so I can hear it again. Its been on my mind for ages and I cant seem get to the exact wording of the man in the beginning and what he actually says...

Otherwise Im sure if I Google these words the name of the song will come up.

Hello,

I'm looking for a song I last heard in 1998 at little club in Detroit area. Some of the lyrics are something like "hurling their bodies into the void" or into space. Heavy beat and a little dark I think.

Not sounding familiar
Bloodhog 6:10 AM - 31 March, 2016
Techno. Not dance, electronic or industrial. Kinda between Halloween by Ministry and O'Fortuna. Last place I heard it was a nightclub that I think was called Crash. North end of Royal Oak (I think). Had a little car on the roof or on a sign outside.

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to find a song I heard from the mid 90's for a long time and it's driving me nuts that I cannot find this song. It's a Eurodance song, and was found on one of the many Eurodance compilation CD's of that time.

The only lyrics I can remember is "She couldn't miss the call, she couldn't wait, and now she"...or "She didn't miss the call, she couldn't wait, and now she"....and there is the use of the word "Someday" or something similar featured very heavily on this song.

The song was sung by a woman, and featured a lot of piano, and was a Eurodance track.

Is anyone able to find the name of this song, and artist?

OK. my head is literally done in.

On Facebook Paul Taylor ( UK DJ, Angels and Retro + more) posted a video last year on october 11 2015.

It was a guy playing a piano in a club and he was absolutely killing it. Anyway at 2mins 3 secs he played a riff of a tune I've not heard since the 90s and I've always loved it. I cannot find it god damn thing anywhere on my hard drives or online and I've been trawling all evening. ugh.

anyway found this forum and just read this whole thread, you guys certainly feel the same passion here for this stuff!

So by some miracle I'm trying to figure out a way to find out that damn song. Short of adding me on Facebook as the video is on my page to listen to.. (is that against the rules ?)

thanks !

Really hoping for some help. Been reading playlists for a good couple of hours trying to find the name of 2 songs as well as their artist.

First one was released around 96/7 and had a female artist how basically just kept repeating 'Touch me' and was techno

Second one released around the same time and remember dancing (once again techno) and them saying 'ice beer' but it wasn't actually ice beer but were words spoken from a nordic country.

Any help at all? A couple of times a year I get the songs stuck in my head and I waste so much time trying to find them.

Hey all,

Like the rest of you I'm pulling my hair out trying to think of a song I heard back in the day.

This is the best recollection I have of it.

OK it starts off with a male voice speaking and describing what you need to make a dance track.
It goes something like this....
"We need to start off with a beat" (A beat starts)
"Then we add a hi-hat" (Now a hi-hat is added to the beat)
"Now we can add some base" (base is added)
And so on.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys,

good lists :) Can anyone help? There's a house tune from about 94/95 that is driving me nuts cos I can't find it. It's pretty mainstream- not my normal kind of stuff - but good. It was on a compilation (again, can't for the life of me remember who by Cream, Renaissance???) one disc was blue and one was pink. It was on the same disc as Energy Flash -Joey Beltram and French Kiss - Lil Louis I think.
To make things easier, it's a fairly repetitive vocal track with words that sound (to me) like
'I lied to you, I lied through and through, I lied to you, I lied through and through'
or alive with you, alive through and through..

I know I've probably got the words really wrong. It was back in the day and because it's not something I would have played myself, I didn't buy it so don't recall the title. Think it was by David someone? Again, I may be wrong.

hope you can help, this short bit of it is stuck in my head

cheers

Lucky Guess. Based on the other tracks she listed, it seemed a compilation of fairly mainstream House from that era and that track is right up there with them. These threads must be hitting pretty high with Google because most of the people asking lately are not DJs, just people searching for long lost memories.
I've ordered a half dozen singles off of Discogs in the last month, trying to recreate a mix I did back in 92 with some borrowed records. Most of them have only been available in Europe. It's nice getting records in the mail postmarked from all over the world again!

Hey there,

Looking for a song from probably the early 2000's. The song wasn't in english. my guess an European language. Female vocals. The only bits I remember is that about a minute into the song she goes into a long note for 30ish seconds and then the song continues. Something along the lines of "aya yaaaaaaa(cue long note).....". Starts off slow and then picks up after the note. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello guys,

I've been trying to find an early 2000's dance track and I hope you will be able to help.
Clues:
- English lyrics, towards the end of the chorus it goes like "I'm happy just to be..." (or maybe was it "happy just to feel...");
- Female vocals which sounds like Madonna; the beat of the track very much reminds me of her "What it feels like for a girl";
- the track is back from 2001/2002; not a chart topper, but popular on local dance radio stations.

Thanks!

Hi! My friend and I have been on the hunt for a song with very few lyrics. It's an upbeat dance song. We think early 2000's with a trumpet throughout i think the entire song. Hi everyone! I hope ya'll are doing well. I'm writing from Madrid, and I need some information that I have been trying to collect for a while, but it's a real titanic task... I am looking for Electronic, Dance, Trance, Techno and Eurodance music from the middle 80's up to 2010 ish. All the cool music from those glorious years. If any of you has a directory or list of these music I'd appreciate so much! I have been seeking for this for weeks, and although I already have some of them (200 aprox) I need many more. I have taken some of this from Julls (thanks man!) but, as I said, I need a lot more.

Thanks so much for your help fellas.

Please please someone help me.

I am DESPERATELY trying to find a song I believe to be from the 90's. It has a steady beat and a slow echo-y piano section in the middle.

It features a woman singing, but she only says la/da/na over and over in the following rhythm

Naaaaa na - nanana na naaaa naa

I believe she might talk at the beginning of the song, but other than that there are no words.

It is not ATC around the world or Kylie Minogue (the common suggestions I keep getting). I thought it might be Robert Miles because of the piano section but I can't seem to find anything. It sounds a bit dance like or something you would possibly hear in a 90s club.

Please someone help me it's driving me insane!

@Pesho1 - is your song "Saturday Night" by Whigfield?

Hey everyone, I desperately need help.

I am looking for a dance song sung by a woman from the year 2000. Maybe from between 1999-2001, but I strongly feel like it was the year 2000.

I barely remember anything, but if it helps, I live in Toronto, Canada and the song would have been on the charts around that time.

It's a woman singing only. The problem is I've Googled so many lists, billboard charts, youtube lists, etc. and I really can't find it. I need help! So it's probably NOT a popular song and was NEVER #1 but enough to be on the Canadian charts at that time that I knew it.

Thank yoU!

I'm absolutely adamant that there was a much earlier not dissimilar song.

Anyone aware of a dance mix of en Vogue's - don't let go circa 96-02 (my clubbing and dj years)

Tried whosampled, discogs, Google and I'm now absolutely stumped. I swear it existed but the internet seems to think otherwise.

Hello, I have been searching for some music I heard in California I know most of the songs because they were single hits but the mashup I heard was blended so awesome the remembered songs:

01.French Affair-Heart goes boom
02.ATC-Around the world lalalalala
03.Gigi`D`Agostino-I'll fly with you
04.Darude-feel the beat
05.Darude-Sandstorm
06.?
07.?
08.?

Those without a doubt were the first tracks of the mix I can also remember hearing Daft Punk-one more time,Gillette-Short D**k Man,Stardust, mylo, modjo, captain hollywood project the mix was definitely disco themed but the beat was surly up like a hard house it still to date is the best continuous smasher Ive moved to. If anyone out there can help it would be fantastic.

Hi there wondering if you could assist me in identifying a club dance song. It came out early 2000s around the time of "Where's your head at Bassment Jaxx". The lyrics I thought I heard was "Gotta see the sign" the only line in the entire track, everything else consisted of beats.

I'm looking for a song I last heard in 1998 at little club in Detroit area. Some of the lyrics are something like "hurling their bodies into the void" or into space. Heavy beat and a little dark I think.

I think I found it. It's been a while but fairly certain that it's Evolution by Nostromo Dept.

Thank yoU!

I'm also from Toronto, I think the song you are looking for is the same I've been looking for for some time. Used to hear it at club energy in the mid 90s.
It was a dance/euro song with a female vocalist or a group of kids almost chanting na na na nee yay... Pretty sure it was in a foreign language.... anyone else Remeber this?

Help! I'm looking for a song thats probably 2000-2008ish, its driving me insane, I can't remember what it's called, nor can I remember any of the lyrics... but it was two black djs, the music video starts out with this bleach blonde girl talking to one of the djs, and then she walks away and starts talking to the other one, causing a conflict, and the whole song is them having a dj battle on stage at this club trying to win the affection of this girl, and then at the end she leaves with a white dude... does this sound familiar to anyone? google has not been my friend in this endeavor

I know it exists I’ve heard it many times, female voice. Probably techno mid to late. Most sly mid 90’s. I had the bloody vinyl but ex took it.
I just stayed up all night on utube trying to find it? It was usually mixed in.

Around 2000 a new radio station started in Melbourne Australia called Nova, it was mainly hits but they played one track all the time, it was electronic, no singing, and had a break in it where a tune was played note by note - it’s doing my head in that I can’t remember the name or the artist, might have had the word ‘star’ in the title?
It came out the same time as Sandstorm, clubs were playing them both
hope you can help before my brain explodes!!!

Any clues?

I am trying to find a song. It is driving me crazy, I can see literally parts of the music video in my head. The song lyrics were similar to Duran Duran Come Undone (especially with the female background vocals) but the music style was more like I Want You by Savage Garden. The male singer had longer blond curly hair (looked like a younger version of Simply Red). In the video he is has flashes sitting in a warehouse at a stainless steel table watching a wall of screens. Would have been dance/pop song from 1997-2002. I can see it , I can almost place it but it is just not popping up for me.

Hi I just created an account as I came across this thread and it's the first time ever of me using the internet it's been one that's active and like the best quiz ever guessing some of these house tunes....
One lady above asked for the tune "da da da da... Dee da" pronounced "la da dee" I think the song you are looking for is Shena- let the beat hit em original remix :)
Hope someone can helo with mine.... an old boyfriend circa 2002 use to have a vinyl with the best track I've ever heard... it was like church organs in the beginning and built up until the beat dropped. It was black vinyl with like a dim yellow light colour with a picture on in the middle. It was something that never was famous or played in a club that I heard and it was just incredible. It was really long too.. I doubt if anyone would get it though x
Lilly86 12:45 AM - 12 April, 2019
Also to add.. the track may of been from a little earlier x it was like a house/classic dance type. No words either unfortunately.

Hi Everyone~ Sorry to interrupt, but I have been looking for 2 songs that were not Top Hits, but were really special and good songs, back in the late 90s and early 2000s. It was almost a one hit and they just disappeared, that is why it is so hard to track them because I don't remember their name or title of song.

If anyone is able to remember, it would be grately appreciated :)

1st artist - I just remember her music video, she was wearing orange tank, she has dimples, I think she is latino, it was a pop song about having a crush on a guy, the music video was her trying to dance and get his attention, but it was very sweet video. I think there were some roller skating involved? I think her last name was Enriquez, her first name....I can't recall but she made this 1 song, and it was all over CMC (california music channel) and she maybe had 2nd song after ..then after that she faded from public.

2nd artist - I think they had only 1 or 2 hits, it was 2 guys and 1 girl, I believe all african american, the music video was a little bit in black and white, and it showed them getting ready for dancing, and the song was like pop, groove, r & b ish, and she was singing like, something about love dancing and the lyrics had a lot of "tonight" and maybe "groove"

God they were both really good dancing songs and feel good songs, but they were in the media and then gone, so I didn't remember their names and song titles. They were in media for short time, so it's even harder to find them online without knowing their full name.

If anyone has some inkling to what I'm describing, any info is helpful :)

Thank you for reading :)

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a electronical/dance song from around ~2000-2006 I think.
If I remember correctly, the music video shows a young female getting dressed in a room as she seems to get ready to go to a club, but at the end as the camera zooms out you see that she is actually the DJ (with her suitcase?) going to perform.

The song I would describe as house/dance maybe comparable to Roger Sanchez - Another Chance.

Many thanks if anyone knows more about this song/artist/music video :).

Hi

Been searching for this song for ages. Think it was around 2000. Kind of dance music. It had a young boy with headphones walking through a train station then getting on a tube. Think the kid had attitude. It had a couple of black guys (I think) who may have been french , not sure but I think they were the artists. It had a keyboard intro to the song quite 'pingy'. I remember the song about the time of fragma miracle... not much detail I know but help appreciated.....

Please help! I first heard the song in 2010 but could be much older.

I have been searching for a song for years now and it’s so hard to find because it’s a trancelike song with only a few lyrics. It has deep bass and a sensual feel to the song with chime or bell sounds, rain sounds, and wind sounds. And yes I have googled this repeatedly over the years, I’m really hoping it sounds familiar to someone.

It starts by saying “mix 27” or just “27”
Then followed by a women’s voice singing “ohhhh ohhhh”
And deep bass for a moment
Then singing “flies away, flies away” “Ohhh ohhh”
More deep bass, rain sounds and bells
Then pauses and the woman says “Rain” and pauses again and just says the word “no”

Hi guys

What an absolute pleasure it is to have found this thread.

With this music knowledge level I have seen in the posts, I really hope someone can assist me with this song.

I have been searching for it 15 years+.

I can hear the tune playing in my mind but, I just cant articulate the words.

One scene I remember from this video is a guy with short spiky blonde hair, dressed in jeans and a black shirt. He sits on a couch facing a television that’s playing. He sings towards the television but, we are watching him from behind the television set. I think it’s a British dj or duo? Lol, I don’t know who told me that detail.

So if there is anyone who can assist, I will be eternally grateful

Thank you

I think it is in direction of dance/trance house music, was popular in 90’s or early 00’s. Female singing, starts with hmmmmm, hmmmmm hmmmmm... at some point during the song, she sings something like” if you can give, give, give me what-I-want it-is better that leaaaveee..” something along those lines, maybe she was singing can’t i stead of can, and sve is repeating “give” part with rhythm of the song.

I can’t remember more but I have this part in my head spinning for last years, going nuts trying to figure out the song or to find it somewhere online.

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks!

Hello everybody! I'm looking for a dance song of 2001 or 2002 that was played in Maxima FM Radio (Spain). When it started, a distorted man voice said something like:

Do you belieeeeeeve
in a ... (can`t remember)
in a ....(can't remember)
oh yeah
Do you belieeeeeeve
in a ... (can`t remember)
in a ....(can't remember)
my baby!

And then the songs continues with some beats. Then the chorus are always the same two sentences in the beginning:

Do you belieeeeeeve
in a ... (can`t remember)
in a ....(can't remember)
oh yeah
Do you belieeeeeeve

I hope you can help me. Thanks!

I'm looking for a song, maybe from late 90's early 2000's. It's really fast paced once it gets going. But it's a guy laughing throug out the whole song, saying what sounds like "he's coming to get you, look out! It's got chimes/bells in it as well. Wish I could remember more.

Hello! I am looking for a song/video from the early 2000s. The video was of a female DJ getting dressed. You only realised that she was a DJ at the end when you saw her record bags. I don't think it was a really famous song but it was played on the music channels in the UK. I can hum part of it (not that that is of much help!). I have seen someone else looking for the same song/video on another website so I definitely haven't imagined it. I would be so happy if I could find it!

Hi, I am searching for years now techno/dance song from 90s which had lyrics something about sex, revolution, extravaganza (in Spanish and/or English) or something like that... Probably (if I remember well) in that video were men in women's clothes and they sung aggressively "revolution, extravaganza etc." Anybody?

Hey u all!!! For 15 years I've been searching for the title of a funky house tune that I received on an old mixtape from a friend of mine back in 2003. The only info I've got is that it was probably released between 2002-2003 and it samples You make me feel (mighty real)" by Sylvester. A female is singing with a little bit crappy, broken English accent:

Would you like to come with me baby
take my hand let me take you inside of me
....every time were making love, I see your face lighting up, baby
every time you whisper words, I loose my self control...

Chorus:
When you say that I don't want you tonight
don't be afraid to love me agaaa-a-a-ain
When you say that I'm not right
you got me want to open the way
yeah you will be lost I will be your light, you'll never be lonely aga-a-ain
when I say you are the only one, my love is a game you play

listen to it here: soundcloud.com

I've posted it on my Soundcloud profile page, but so far nobody has given me any clues of what the song is called.

PLEASE HELP ME!

Hey all =] I’m hoping someone can help find this song that I came across btwn 2003-2006. It may have been made before then. It’s a dance/club mix song and it sounded either Arabic or Indian. There’s a female vocalist and the chorus ends with something that sounds like anji or hanji. It has a bit of a belly dancing vibe and is upbeat. I’ve searched around to no avail and can’t get it out of my head. Thanks in advance!

Hi. Ok, obligatory "this song has been stuck in my head for XX years" intro.
Now, all I know about the song I'm trying to find is that the DJ could possibly 45% sure have a latin name? The song also was >1999ish <2005ish. It was a club song, very popular, dance/trance and in clubs in Miami, but I'm sure in many other states with similar nightlife.
No words at all, I believe. I know that makes it hard, but I know the melody of the kicks and beat and how it sounds perfectly. The main instrument is some synth/lead buzz/trumpetlike keys, that fire repeatedly until the last one in the loop that that does a sharp pitch raise bend upward, like . If I can describe it in words, or here, using "tah" as sound for the notes, here goes nothing....(and the only reason I dare to imitate a "noise/sound" in writing it is because one other mofo like me did this also, and they actually guessed the friggin' song LOL!
--Each "tah" is like a press of a pad length, way below a second of duration each....
/ Tah-ta-ta Tah-ta-ta-ta-ta, Tah-ta-ta Tah-ta-ta-ta-booweeep!- - - Booweeep...
/ Tah-ta-ta Tah-ta-ta-ta-ta, Tah-ta-ta Tah-ta-ta-ta-booweeep!- - - Booweeep...
It might be 4 bars, 120ishBPM but doubled up to produce the stereotypical house beat thump/kick, parallel to the metronome.

Then repeats over and over but obviously with a house beat thumping and progressing with a drop and intermission "a-la 90s/2000s" style with the snare starting off slow building up until it drops the beat again and the snare at that point is basically like a machine gun rapid fire.

Very partyish song- was mainstream definitely, and it was a single. Since I don't remember the artist, I can't tell you if he was popular and had other songs to reference, or an album, but that song when it dropped was top of the charts on radio stations also that played alot of the club and party songs.
I've tried my "tah tah tah" thing on Shazaam and googled this using a lot of other elements, but the best way to describe it is this way or where I can actually record the sound.
Any one know if i can do that here or where I can attach a sound clip? That will definitely help, as stupid as I'll sound making the sound- it's very distinguishable though. Anyone who knows will immediately know exactly which song it is!!

Hello everyone,

I've been looking for these two songs from the late 90s-early 00s for years:

- I believe the song says 'let me be free like we want to be'. It's a dance-house song, and the best lead so far was Ziggy Marley but couldn't find any remix that could be the song

- I remember the song only saying 'Saturday' by a female electronic voice and it was getting distortionate throught the song. It's a house song and the DJ used to mix it with Meet her at the love parade.

Anyone? Thanks in advance

Hello all,

I'm hoping someone knows the name of this song:
youtu.be

It was part of a live DJ set by Australian DJ Andy Van in 2003 (or around that time) on Fox FM. I recorded a few of these sets on cassette tape at the time and now I'd like to recreate them but this song has me stumped. Shazaam and SoundHound don't recognise it either (they didn't recognise half of the tracks). The songs in the set were all from 2002-2003 so it would've been released around that time.

Any ideas?

Hi everyone,

I have been looking for a dance song that was a hit in French discos back in 2001-2002. I lived there at the time (I´m Spanish) but couldn´t get grab of the name of the song at the time, and I have been trying to find it out ever since.

I have created this audio singing it (or trying to, haha) in case someone knows the name of the song: sndup.net

You would make my day (my decade, I would say!) if any of you is able to help me. I start off with the entry rhythm and then I sing the very few lyrics that the song had.

Thanks y´all!

Looking for the title and artist of the track that starts at 42:02. It was part of a mix I recorded back in April 1997 from WNYU 89.1 FM - Club 89 in NYC. It sounds like acid-house, and the lyrics are like "chords, music.....music, chords"....the song that is mixed in with this song is "Helter Skelter" 1997 by Meat Beat Manifesto, but I am looking for the song in the background with the military acid-house beat. Hey everyone,

Came across this thread and thought someone might be able to help me remember the name of a club/dance/electronic song from either the mid to late 90s or year 2000. I first heard it in 1999 or 2000 but not sure it was new at the time.

For some reason, I could swear the songs name was "everybody" but can't find a match anywhere. It's also mostly instrumental other than the word "everybody" (can't be sure that's the word though).

It has what I think is short violin strokes near the intro (maybe even right at the start of the song) that goes something like...

Da tata ta ta - da tata ta ta - da tata ta - ta ta ta ta (first line)
and restarts with
Da tata ta ta - da tata ta ta - da ta ta ta ta ta ta ta (second line)

I believe it repeats the above twice and then a deep male voice says a word (I think the word is "everybody")... after which a single fairly deep single beat just repeats for a while.

I've included a clip here that repeats the first line twice. It's not great, nor the exact notes, but hopefully triggers someone's memory.

Thanks!!

Hoping someone can save my sanity; name of a late 90s early 00s dance/house/pop song with racing cartoon vehicles in the video. I always think of the song together with Ann Lee two times, so it may (or may not) sound like that. Not venga, crazy frog, atb…

Sure it’s not Blackbox Everybody? Which has been in various commercials and was a popular 90’s dance track? No make vocals it’s a woman…”everybody, everybody, set it freeeeee, set it freeeeee.. classic tune

Any luck finding this track? Anyone on here now know what this might be? Has been haunting me for years trying to find it!
