Issues with the software

Im having an issue that im hoping I can get some help with cause its driving me crazy.

Im trying to create intros with the tracks. Ill drag it into song view, clip a piece I want to use for the first 8 bars and move it to the beginning of the song on a new channel. However, if I remove vocals from that piece, it removes the vocals from the song on the first channel too. Why doesnt the software treat each clip as its own piece of audio and force me to drag another instance of the song into the software just so i can remove the vocals? Ableton does it without any issues.

Also, why doesnt pinching on my mbp's touchpad not zoom in or out on the song view? I shouldnt have to click the + or - buttons in the software to do that. Every daw for audio and video editing does it. If this software is meant to compete with them, it should function similarly.

Lastly, beatgrid feels messy. I have a song in songview but its not synced correctly so I tried to change the beatgrid similarly to how I would in Serato DJ Pro but its frustrating. You cant press space bar to start/stop the track for u to set the marker, you cant press w or s without it setting a point for the slicer, you can't just press x as it plays either cause its going to set it wherever your marker is.

Thank you for the response Gonz. I figured this workaround out too but there really shouldnt be so many steps to do something that could be done simply if a duplicate track was treated as its own audio file. Its apparently an issue many people have with the software if you felt you had to make a video for it. Respecfully.

Hey Jean Sean,

Sorry for the slow response. Just wanted to let you know that in our last Serato Studio update, we made a change which means that when you duplicate an Audio Track, you can apply different stem settings to each sample independently. So in your example, you can load your audio file, apply a stem setting, then duplicate the whole audio track, and then apply a different stem setting to the separate track.

This is something we're looking to add in a future update :)

Hope that helps,
Logan.
