New Style

The new style has a red label on one side and a black label on the other.

I much prefer the original style. I think the red side on the new labels clashes with most of the colors.

I vote to, at least, no longer use the red design.
CMOS 9:26 PM - 30 September, 2009
Old one looked like an actual vinyl label. This one looks too produced and clean.
Culprit 9:28 PM - 30 September, 2009
i dont mind the black, but I am not feeling the red on the other side, as i stated in the previous thread.
CMOS 9:29 PM - 30 September, 2009
Post a pic of the red side if you have one handy. Might help people who havent seen em yet.

We really appreciate your opinions, but we are not going to change the labels.
DJ Dub Cowboy 9:47 PM - 30 September, 2009

I think we found the designer. lol
adhdj 9:50 PM - 30 September, 2009
I don't like the red side either. Apparently they are stuck on it, though! Looks wack on pretty much any color except red or black. :(
DJ Dub Cowboy 9:50 PM - 30 September, 2009
haha

no offense to whoever designed.

I was pretty excited when I first saw it, but after using them I have come to this conclusion.

we CV collectors are a vain bunch as it is....
Culprit 9:51 PM - 30 September, 2009
red = that girl at the club no one ever notices

Warik 9:54 PM - 30 September, 2009
Art Director, but yeah, anyway....

I agree that the red doesn't look that flash on the coloured vinyl, it wasn't designed to be on anything but the black vinyl, but it's something i have live with as well..
CMOS 9:55 PM - 30 September, 2009
<----takes tittsworths off ebay to put up the OG blacks, after this thread the price gonna go up. lol

OG BLACK SERATO VINYLS, NEVER GOING TO BE MADE AGAIN, VINTAGE SERATO LABEL, GET EM NOW WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.

I don't have any new ones
tehBEN 11:10 PM - 30 September, 2009
i don't really care what labels are on it, I take them off and replace them with my own logo.
Jesus Christ 11:12 PM - 30 September, 2009
I put my own 4" stickers printed and affix them over all my CV anyways. It doesn't matter to me at all.

been looking for stickers of that size everywhere but can't get sh**...any online stores that have em + do the printing?
Strom Carlson 2:55 AM - 1 October, 2009
I can just imagine half of you if this were 1985:

"Oh god, I refuse to play anything on MCA records. It has a RAINBOW on the label! I don't want people thinking i'm gay!"

Billy18bm 4:22 AM - 1 October, 2009
can't we just get the old design back...or at least no red..
Proto J 4:43 AM - 1 October, 2009
the red side really is just terrible...

and of course it's on the 15 minute side, the only side i use...

i suppose if i ever buy any with those ugly labels i will definitely be putting my own labels on 'em...

Man, go away. $20 for 4 stickers!!!
Jesus Christ 6:44 PM - 1 October, 2009
I can't win. OK... go to the office supply store, buy some uncut 8.5" x 11" label sheets and print your own. That'll look very professional.

/sarcasm
sacrilicious 6:51 PM - 1 October, 2009
JC, how resilient are the labels? I tend to touch them a lot in pinching the spindle/etc and would be quite bummed if they smeared/faded
Jesus Christ 7:02 PM - 1 October, 2009
The labels from bandmonster are paper with no UV coating. They will smear if you get cleaning fluid on them (sweat, grooveglide, etc). The djlabels.com labels are just like bumper stickers. Vinyl and UV protected. No smearing, no scratching. I have 300 paper labels so I can always throw a new label over a worn label and look brand new. I've only smeared one label so far and that was when I was using grooveglide.

Funny dude :-P
FYC / CYFA 7:53 PM - 1 October, 2009
i kinda like the laptop skins...... but as far as 20 buck for 4 of em... i guess its worth it considering they wont smear or fade.... i would put those on the cv's i use the most... :-)

thanks jc
Jesus Christ 9:15 PM - 1 October, 2009
You'll only need 1 for each CV. I don't label up both sides, just the 15 minute side. So, you can put labels on your 4 most used CV's. I think it's worth it for the promotional factor. And they are pretty resilient.
R-Tistic 5:26 AM - 2 October, 2009
Y'all are trippin.....you can create your own label on a milli different sites anyway.

I'm yet to actually get a new labeled control cinyl, I think i'd prefer the new label but both sides being black, not a fan of the red label.
FYC / CYFA 2:19 PM - 6 October, 2009
i havent used regular cv in a while... all i use are serato pressings anyways so it doesnt matter to me...

seeing as everyone nowadays is getting their own custom labels printed, how about designing something that looks similar to the original label and getting 200 of those printed to cover the new CV labels...problem solved!
Billy18bm 4:42 PM - 2 February, 2010
how much you think 200 run?
