I had the same problem until I switched the encoder to Quicktime instead of Directshow.

Similar issue I had on my 3060 just the other day while setting this up.

It was on my rtx 3060 too. had a typo.

I have not found a solution yet.

What version driver do you have installed.

Also sidenote, I have the drivers from Nvidia installed not from the vendor who makes the card.

I have the latest drivers installed from Nvidia as well. I have tried many things and nothing has seemed to work. I sent an email to Serato support, they were useless.

Also what platform are you on, Intel or AMD?

I have tried Quicktime and Lav Filters. It works fine on the internal intel video card. but a black screen on rtx 3060. You should contact Serato support too so that they know more people are seeing this.

I was able to resolve it too just now. Not sure why I didn't work with QuickTime earlier.

I'm on Windows 10

I had to switch to the Quicktime encoder and then it worked for me.

There might be some more involved with Win11.

I also noticed that Serato Video is still a 32-bit app which I'm wondering about.

Ther performance, however, is so bad on QuickTime.

The performance using LAV filters on internal video card is much better than using QuickTime on RTX 3060.

So, I need to figure out how to make LAV filters work with RTX 3060.

I don't know if that will work.

DirectShow performance failed horribly on my system.

Quicktime is the only way it would work.

I had the same problem, it would only display a black screen.

It actually still doesn't work for all the videos.

It probably wants me to re-encode the videos,. I'll just stick to lav filters on the internal card. I get consistent 60 fps.

It could be, because I did have to use handbrake and manually create the preset with the Serato Video settings for the videos I was testing with.

I still have some further testing to do as well.

I'll dig into the Windows 11 issue.

It sounds like it's going to be a combination of things causing issues.

I think I have made LAV filters work with RTX 3060.

In NVIDIA settings, I set the GPU to integrated.

Then in LAV filter, I set hardware decoding to RTX 3060. It works. I checked that Serato video is using RTX 3060. I think it's the main application which is not able to run on the GPU. So, I am sure if NVIDIA settings, we only run Serato video, it'll run fine. The main application seems to conflict with it.

The performance is double now.

I flipped the encoder back to Directshow, grabbed the LAV filters from here...

Installed the filters then grabbed this tool,

The above tool allows you to switch the video codecs to the LAV filters.

Once I did this I had very smooth playback in Serato Video.

Now I just have to get the aspect ratio issue fixed in the output window.

Have you tried using the hap codec with SV?

I have not. Is it better ?

I'm not sure, but going to give it a try to see if it works.

I put in a help request after the video SL window was just showing black instead of the video.
This was after i moved all my videos to an external SSD and upgraded to ventura.
It was working fine until i moved everything.

Its an accessibility thing apparently. I didn't give serato full access i guess again.
