Anyone using an Rane SL3 on MacOS Monterey? I finally got a new MBP and i'd like to keep this one up to date, but i also want it working with the SL3 until i get a replacement. Anyone running that setup?

Stay on Catalina and older and I'm sure a quick search will tell you which 2.5.x version is the last one you can use.

Intel MBP?
Technically, the SL3 will operate (so will the SL4) in Monterey, I’ve done it myself. It’s just not officially supported.

Oooh so was it the M1 that kinda left it in the dirt?

Yeah its all good until you need to re-install the driver, then you are screwed. For example I used a friends DDJ-1000 with RB at a gig, RB de-activated my Serato driver and I couldn't reinstall it... so I had to clean down my laptop and backwards install Catalina then reload all my music and playlist data back onto the machine.
You cant even use Time Capsule to sort it out, it has to be a clean install from a bootable USB.
So my advice is, go ahead and use the SL3 with Monteray, but do so at your own risk, also with the knowledge that you will need to put aside several hours and lots of knowledge to backwards install your computer if the driver needs updating or re-installing.

As a test, I downloaded both the SL3 and SL4 drivers from Rane, installed both without an issue, then downloaded SDJ 2.5.7 from Serato, also installed without an issue. Serato opened up and recognized both soundcards just fine. I also tested this against macOS Monterey 12.4 and on two different Intel MacBook Pros. Same results.
Seems fishy that RB would permanently disable any bit of software without warning you first? But what does Rekordbox and the DDJ driver have to do with Monterey?

I can only tell you what happened to me, I have a 2015 MacBook Pro and I upgraded my OS to newer than Catalina (it might have been big sur tbh I can’t remember), I then installed the DDJ-1000 driver so I could use it with Rekordbox in performance mode.
When I went back to use the SL3 at home it wouldn’t recognise the soundcard, with the only solution being to re-activate the SL3 driver, which led to me getting a security error that couldn’t be worked around. So my only option was to clean install Catalina which allowed me to load the driver and get my SL3 connected again.
It was last summer when it happened so I can’t recall all the steps that caused the issue but I think it was down to the audio routing and the DDJ driver messing with that.

Can’t believe I didn’t mention I intentionally bought an intel Mac (2020) so my sl3 would work. Lol sorry about that fuzziness. I had known about the m1 incompatibility and debated just getting one and saving up or whatever for a supported mixer.
Wasn’t aware of this. Agreed

This was basically what I was wondering. I’m not gigging or anything so there’s no “danger” exactly. Just didn’t want to upgrade and it not work at all.
I appreciate all your guys input. I was afraid I’d only get the company line if I reached out to the official accounts and I wanted to just know if I it would be recognized, not if it was supported. None of my hardware is supported at this point so I’m used to having to mess with it.
