Working with 32 pads and Maschine

GoodVibeMusic 9:12 PM - 23 February, 2020
It's really great with 32 pads now but how do you get the upper pads when working with Maschine? Is there a simple way to do that?

Hmm, seems that I have to go back to 1.1 2 cause the new version isn't working good with Maschine. Really can't understand why Serato didn't made the ability to have 16 pads in the new version cause the poor ability to work with 32 pads in Maschine.

Thank you for your feedback.

32 pads have been requested by many users, mostly with keyboards and controllers having 32 and more pads. We didn't consider the impact on existing users with 16 pad controllers, since similar situation affected users with 8 pad controllers already.

After beta and release version 1.2.0 we have received similar feedback and we are actively looking into improving the workflow for users with various controllers.

To answer you original question, in Maschine you can access bottom 16 pads with root note set to C1 and top 16 pads with root note set to E2.

Hope this helps,
Pavol

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out by myself :).
Should though be great to just have a shortcut button so you could switch to E2 in just one push.

I agree, it would be great to have an easy toggle button/switch to change to E2 for Maschine users. It took quite a bit to figure this out!!

Yeah, think it's strange that they haven't think about that when they updated it.

Instead of a toggle button they should just do what a lot of other samplers let you do and have 1) multiple midi mapping presets for the most common controllers and/or 2) ability to do custom mapping- like slicex where you can say "assign all" and just manually hit the pads/keys you want and it will cycle through the chops assigning to what you pressed until it's done.

I wouldn't mind having options for how many pads there are to make it easy for people that don't want so many pads though. Cuz I'm on the other end of the spectrum- I want it increased to 64 so I can finally map all banks on mpd/mpd. Having the option while not ruining it for people that want the simpler looking UI with less pads would be great.

With MK3 it's really easy to change to the upper 16 pads... When I started this thread I used the MK1 :-)...
