Hottest Rap/R&B Club Tracks: 2020 Edition!

R-Tistic 11:06 PM - 3 January, 2020
We made it! A full decade of doing this.

We will use this post to list all of the biggest club tracks in your area, along with those that are brand new and starting to make some noise.

Keep all the negative, "this new music is all trash, it sounds the same" type comments from out of this thread.

Here's some of the current bangers from the last 1-2 months that I've seen work at the club, along with some that are on the bubble and might get big.....

Roddy Rich - The box

Lil Baby - Woah

Meg The Stallion - Ride or die

Fivio Foreign - Big drip

Young Thug ft. Gunna - Hot

DaBaby - Bop

Quality Control ft. Lil Baby & DaBaby - Baby

YoungBoy Never Broke Again - Make no sense

Pop Smoke - Dior

JACKBOYS ft. Pop Smoke & Travis Scott - Gatti

Roddy Rich - High fashion

Tory Lanez ft. T-Pain - Jerry Sprungher

Russ - Best on Earth

JAH JAH ft. 1Playy - Get wit it

Tyga - Macarena

YNW Melly - 223's

Tokyo Jetz ft. Plies - Six flags

On the bubble/gaining buzz

Usher feat. Ella Mai - Don't Waste My Time

Fetty Wap - Fresh N Clean

City Girls - You tried it

Roddy Ricch ft. Meek Mill - Peta

Yella Beezy ft. Ty Dolla Sign - Ay Ya Ya Ya

Mulatto, Saweetie & Trina - Bitch from da souf (Remix)

HitMaka - Thot Box (Remix) feat. Young MA, Dreezy, Mulatto, DreamDoll, & Chinese Kitty

Steven G - Handcuffs (Big in L.A., and actually worked when I dropped it in Florida)

DMB Gotti - Peter Piper (SUPER L.A. only track that works with certain crowds)

H.E.R. ft. YG - Slide (works on the early/late vibe tip)
jmlbrns45 3:55 AM - 4 January, 2020
Megan Thee Stallion ft DaBaby - Cash Shit

That "Big drip" is still the hardest record in NY right now. The Midwest is vibing hard to "The box"
Joaquin 3:27 AM - 19 January, 2020
Crunk Aint Dead - Duke Deuce is blowing up right now
Dj Joze 1:14 AM - 24 January, 2020
Smoove L- New Apollos
R-Tistic 8:44 PM - 25 January, 2020
Pop Smoke "Christopher Walking" is another song with that UK NY sound to it.

Brand new Meg The Stallion "B.I.T.C.H." which flips the classic 2Pac album cut.

Fetty Wap "Fresh and clean" probably won't take off, but it's a smooth track for sure.

Baby Keem "Orange soda" is kinda dope to me.

Future ft. Drake "Life is good" is huge with some crowds. It's not a "banger" to me but it's typical enough to get big.

L.A. has some up and coming tracks that get love with certain crowds. Bino Rideaux "Savage" is smooth AF. Same as Airplane James "Impress me."

OH! And this year's lesser version of "My boo" is Lil Elk "Get the gat" from New Orleans, which is from 1992, but is getting major love because of a typical social media challenge gone viral. It's worked with all my L.A. crowds, too.

I would go more like the next A Boogie. He has a smooth voice (hence the name) can rap and harmonize. With that being said, "New Apolos" is a banger.

Pretty much anything she puts out right now is hot.

It's a SUPER good idea to skim through TikTok these days since more than a few tracks over the past year have gone viral on there..

Just wait for the kids to start requesting that "Get the Gat" song from 30 years ago thinkin' it's brand new.

VERY.

I'm pretty much playing almost all stuff from 2018-2019 at this point in peak hour. Dorrough's joint is catching on, but it ain't there enough to play in that time frame. Ice Cream Paint Job still gets a bigger reaction.

Combine that as well with crowds slowing down all around the area because people are getting scared to travel and go out with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) out there. Hell, industry conferences are canceling events left and right.

I'm wondering if that's having an effect on the creative efforts right now as well.

Helluva amount of new songs dropping lately yet the thread stopped why? haha

anyways,

Lil Uzi Vert - POP hitting right. "balenci balenci" started annoying me but somehow hard at the same time lol
Papa Midnight 6:05 AM - 16 March, 2020

That is because these threads have never been about "What's new and just came out" so much as they have been about what is hot and in rotation at a given time. A song might release today and not necessarily be hot till this summer.

For that matter, they might not get hot until two years from now if certain trends from last year are any indication.

There are plenty of tracks dropping, but - straight up - a lot of them are garbage, and the others aren't catching on yet.

Likewise, with what's going on right now, a lot of people aren't going to be exactly going out, a lot of places are going to be closed, and a lot of DJs aren't going to be spinning at their usual spots (or even doing weddings / mobile gigs) for a while.

Think of it like this: if these school closures extend - and they most certainly will (www.cdc.gov), then Proms are dead in the water. College events? Done. Fraternity and Sorority events? Done.

Corporate Events? Done.

Festivals? Done.

Concerts? Done.

Sporting Events? Done.

The list goes on and is getting longer literally by the day.

The thread is not getting much activity because these are just the facts on the ground right now, and they will likely be for the foreseeable future.
Mr. Goodkat 3:33 AM - 17 March, 2020
hip hop hit its saturation point.

i used to never play old songs and now ive gone back to playing old shit all the time. stuff i havent played in 10-12 years. and it works.

i think with under 25-28 club crowds(not bar, small lounge) crowds you could do new hip hop but it would have to have the right gm/owner/crowd.
R-Tistic 7:06 AM - 17 March, 2020
This song is huge on TikTok...it might get some love with younger crowds:

"Hit yo groove" - Watchwww.youtube.com
Mr. Goodkat 7:45 PM - 17 March, 2020
looked at that channel and if you need a house remix of a hip hop song, Saint jhn - Roses - imanbek remix has been working for me.
DJ JulioYEG 9:40 PM - 18 March, 2020
im still playin new shit that drops and honestly tiktok is helping break tracks. curretnly onhold though covid-19 took away all my residencies rip lol
Mr. Goodkat 11:40 PM - 18 March, 2020
yeah seems like tiktok is key, which is hard because im old and refuse to join. i dont even snapchat. other than twitter i hate social media.

i think ill probably get into some of the new pop smoke, dior is already working well, megan ts - savage, and doja cat boss bitch (nice uptempo track)

nah, dl'ed but haven't played, havent seen anyone really playing it and i have at least 1 guest dj at my 4 residencies a week. im sure its getting a little run, but it sounds pretty east coast. texas isnt overly isnt to that style tbh. west coast stuff is still bigger than east coast down here. but by east coast i mean more north east, obviously Atlanta to Florida is still pretty southern by production sound. i could play it some mainly black clubs but i dont play much in those. its pretty even white, latino, black at most of my gigs, not much asian

Weird that I haven’t seen much British hip hop and grime. I’m guessing most are American?

If so, have you ever used British hip hop / rnb / grime / drill over there?
Mr. Goodkat 6:49 PM - 20 March, 2020
i play a bit of it, i had a uk bass/hip hop/grime nite for about a year, but for the most part most americans still dont get it.

ill play some wiley, dizzie rascal classics and the newer stuff like j hus, stormzy, skepta, giggs, jme, done'o.

lot of american djs pretty much stick to american artist, whether its house/electronic or hip hop, which is weird and lazy to me but it is what it is

ah, i see. You gotta remember a lot of southern club owners and managers are racist as f.

as the ownership and mgmt has become more brown-black/young owners are def cooler with urban music.

literally about 4 years ago, mgmt at my long term residency told ' young girls dont like slow heavy rap' at the time i was dating a rich, pretty goddamn perfect looking girl and thought, is this guy really living in the world? i countered with 'are you sure about that?" WHich he didnt take well. Dallas has long history of dance music clubs (before they called it EDM), so there are pockets of clubs dedicated entirely to EDM and actual HOuse & techno.

i wonder if you just never go to those places, and i know articles can def be misleading but i did find this just to see whats going on in TOR and found this.
djmag.com

also i know jacques greene is based out toronto, he's def one of my favorite electronic music djs/producers. I didnt really get much into house/techno/electro til i was 25 or so, so you can def get into styles later in life. Kinda like different kinds a foods.

technically rap has become pop music, now more than ever, and i just never dug when Hip hop gets that way. Currently its just so fake and negative, with all this posturing over killing a drug dealing. the older you get the more ridiculous it gets.

My homie used to call it comedy rap in the early 00s when he was selling actual kilos and dealing with extreme violence issues. 'Paid in Full' the movie addressed it as well.

its even worse now although i'm not saying everyone is 'fake', most is. If it is real, and you are bragging about it, its just dumb i.e. bobby shmurda

I still dig the beats and i feel like thats all that matters for most club goers. im just old and practical, it happens to the best or worst of them unless they are dumb.

No offense meant, (I’m sure you’ll take it the wrong way anyway) but whenever I see you post stuff like this, I think you’re either too young or don’t stray too much from your own circle.

It’s cool, though, because if you’re just into Hip-Hop, that’s all you see, but we’re the 4th largest city in North America with millions of people, there’s an everything “scene” in Toronto.

It has been since the mid-late 2000s, not that there wasn't commercial Hip-Hop before, but now it doesn't really matter the theme or the content (doesn't matter how much hood or drug talk there is) it's all Top 40 now.

no offence taken. everyone is entitiled to there own opinion but being from toronto you should know better then anyone else that hiphop is flurishing. Why? because of artists like drake tory lanez, the weeknd and the list goes on.. I never denied that there werent any other club but im talking downtown kingstreet. Its not about starying from my circle because I got people all over the world that dj all kinds of genres. My residencies just happen to be urban. The point is the urban genre runs shit down there period. Hence why youre a toronto djing tracking a hiphop/rnb discussion no? All the popular known clubs will lean to a urban msuic format because the hiphop scene is huuuuuge in toronto. Obviosul there will be a club that caters to everyones needs but its more niche.

Such a weird time. Who's been DJing virtually, and does it seem like folks even want to hear new music?

The biggest new songs for me have basically been:

AD - Ungrateful (my L.A. crowd's favorite song by faaaar)

Megan Thee Stallion - Girls in the hood

Meg & Beyonce - Savage (remix)

Saweetie - Tap in

Rossi Rock ft Rucci - Chingy

Chris Brown & Young Thug - Go crazy

Boosie Badazz - On the dick

Yella Beezy ft Young Thug - Headlock

Yo Gotti - H.O.E. (Heaven on earth)

Six 3 (Dorrough) - Brand new

Baby Keem - Orange soda

City Girls - Jobs

Jack Harlow - What's poppin (Remix)

Lil Mosey - Blueberry Faygo

Jack Harlow - Warsaw

The best Ratchet club song to me right now is...

Beatking - "Then leave"

It's over the top, but fiiiire.

Of course "WAP" is still the overall biggest song out. That Jersey Club song "Vibe" from Cookiee Kawaii now has a Tyga remix, so it might blow. It's dope to me.

The body of the professional essay writers ( sites.simbla.com ) online is considered as its main part and here the writer has to explain his or her viewpoints about the subject and the pieces of evidence to support those opinions. The concluding part should contain all the major points. The writer has the right to put some suggestions or warnings in this paragraph.
rebeccaparks 8:42 PM - 24 January, 2022
The structure of essay writing is complicated for me, and so are the rules. I did poorly in school and now at university it is difficult for me. So I use essay writing professionals www.professionalessaywriters.com not to waste time studying this now. They are real professionals because they work 24 on 7. I recommend!

I will listen to these tracks because I am a fan of club rap. I'm pretty often out at nightclubs, so I know a lot of popular club tracks. Apart from that, I also listen to other genres of music. Usually, it's pop music. I've been to concerts by pop artists like Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Robbie Williams. I like their creativity and approach to their work. Their tracks play in my headphones all the time. I often look for the newest albums (show4me.com) for inspiration and a good mood. I use tracks from the new albums in my Tik-Tok videos. I like to add something new and exciting to my playlist.

Although Hip Hop has introduced many wonderful aspects to American culture and way of life, it has also been instrumental in increasing social and political awareness among today's youth. Rap music teaches people from a variety of perspectives and addresses a variety of societal concerns. Rap has had a good impact on society, according to many people. It is an artistic form that allows individuals to positively express themselves. Rap, according to Forman, helps young artists get out of poverty. The young artists also assist their family, friends, and neighbors in overcoming economic hardship.
