What if we could click on crates (with different modifiers) to combine them in different ways?

1. Shows combining crates in an inclusive way where all songs from both crates show up.

2. Shows combining crates in an exclusive way where only the songs that are in both crates show up.

3. Shows subtracting one crate from the other so only the songs from the first crate shows up if they are not in the second.


This would be something you do on the fly, as you spin, to navigate through your crates. But would also be good organization.

You would set this up with crates that have ALL songs from your library with a certain characteristic. For example you would put all dirty versions in one crate. You could then click on that crate at any time and only dirty versions would show up, whatever crates you are in. Or you could click on it and all dirty versions would go away, whatever crates you are in.

This would be an extremely powerful and dynamic way of navigating through the library without being confined by pre-made crates. It would be like making smart crates on the fly as you spin but with only a couple clicks.

You could navigate like this - "I want all Hip-Hop and R&B, but only from the year 89, now remove all dirty songs, but now switch to only instrumentals, okay take out all R&B leaving just Hip-Hop... and so on".

This would change nothing about how SSL looks (except maybe a clear button so you wouldnt have to unclick each crate).

This would not change anything about how SSL operates now (except maybe crates would light up if they are 'on' or dim if they are 'off'.
