Yeah Last year he sang Queens Park Savannah. He was brought back into the fold by Fay-Ann, his daughter, some years ago and since then he has been doing stuff.

The usuals for me:

Popcaan - Family, Steamy, Inviolable, Body So Good (just started playing this)
Busy Signal - Stay So (my fav currently)
Aidonia & Govana - Breeze
Vegas - Wakanda Jam/Fresh (good for transitioning to classics)

TBH, I'm still playing a lot of stuff from last year.

Does anybody really care about riddims lately? I don't know, I feel like there'll be one or two hits on a riddim, but nobody really cares in my crowds lately about riddim serials. Was putting together some stuff for a summer mix but feeling riddims will get overlooked vs. the singles.

Masicka is also having a wicked year so far with tunes like Changes Ride and Greatness.

In terms of riddims, these days most people just play the best cuts instead of jugglin the whole riddim. Genna Boune for example the Aidonia and Govana 100% get played and sometimes the Ding Dong gets Played. Same for 1Guh, Popcaan, Donia & Govana.

Yeah, I pretty much have all the chunes mentioned (save for the 2 UK, I'll check those out) and a few others. So it's good to see that I'm up to speed there.



But the riddims thing, definitely I've only been playing one or two cuts these days, it's not like we would play everything on a riddim back in the days either, but the riddim serial was clearly a much bigger part of a set back then.

See like how you mentioned Bulletproof and Last Night, I was just telling a friend about the Breakthrough riddim and how some of the other chunes connect for a nice serial, but people don't even care nowadays.

Same with Global Warming, some good chunes on there, but I recorded a quick set last night while feeling out the music for a new mix, and it was just over 10 minutes for 8 chunes. 10 minutes with today's crowd? LOL

I guess while we are the topic where do you guys go for your reggae/soca stuff? looking for a good pool or even better a video pool for reggae and soca.

Yea the days of 10 ppl on a rididm are over I think. Aidonia has figured this out which is why he had the year he did. He's been pretty careful about who he voices for which to me has raised the quality of his output.
