I am a guitar player. I use Serato Sample for playing backing chords when I play lead (using a pedal board). I have some suggestions that would could make Serato Sample more suitable for such applications (for soloists or singers).
- It would be nice if I could assign a label to each button. Example, Am , Gmaj7, etc. That way I would know which button each chord is assigned to.
- It would be nice if I could assign a midi message trigger to each button. Right now it's set to a midi note that cannot be changed.
-To assign backing chords to individual buttons in Serato Sample, I record several chords in a sequence (a single wave file) and then break them up in serato sample and assign each chord to a different button. To find the beginning/end of each audio segment (in that wave file), I start playing the wave file and stop right before the chord changes and then assign that segment to the button. However, the issue is that when I press the stop button exactly where the segment ends the pointer rolls back to the beginning and I lose my place. It would be nice if there was a mode in which start/stop would not roll back to the beginning. That is, you could start/stop without a rollback.
-A loop mode is needed. Right now when the segment finishes playing it 1) either stops or 2) moves to the next segment in the wave file.
