i did all of that exept from the fan stuff.
will try it now and let u know how it goes.

If i set my fan at 5000rpm, will it short my fan life?

It shouldn't do, but if you want to be sure, I'd suggest you speak to the manufacturer (Apple) regarding that, they should be able to let you know :-)

tried with the fan working (even though my mac isn't running hot) and still every 2 hours when the file is being saved i get dropouts that affect the sound!.
very annoying that i moved to mac for everything to "just work" and i get dropouts.

So you've gone though ALL the optimization steps in both links I posted, and those dropouts are still occurring? The dropouts occur only when saving your recording?

yep. when it's saving tags.

any ideas ? news ? after two monts without drops, last night had one during Recording :
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011) , 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 , 8 GB , 512 SSD
OS X Yosemite 10.10.1
Serato 1.7.5 .
