When I try to fade from the left track to the right (only want to hear the right) the crossfader isn't working, and still plays the track from the left even when the fader is all the way to the right. The only way I can fade from the left to the right is pressing the headphone button and this allows me just to hear the right side. I need the fader because I do a lot of blending! I had intro and the fader was working fun but now that I have serato DJ the fader isn't working. Help please

Hi lydthekid,

Can I get you to click on the 'Setup' icon in Serato DJ then navigate to the 'Mixer' tab.

Please take and post a screenshot of your current 'Mixer' settings in Serato DJ.

Let me know.

Hi lydthekid,

Try this:

Connect controller with Serato DJ closed. Next launch Serato DJ. Click on the 'Setup' icon in Serato DJ then navigate to the 'Mixer' tab. The 'Mixer' tabs only appears if a compatible controller is connected.

Try this and see how you get on.

Hi lydthekid,

Can I get you to set your CROSSFADER type int he 'Mixer' window to 'Linear' rather than 'Power'. Also please adjust the CROSSFADER CURVE to halfway.

Similar to the scroll knob problem !.
I have had this problem but a squirt of electronic switch gear cleaner solved it.

OK what system are u using? I have the vci 300, and also what is esg cleaner? And where can i get it from

i'm using serato Dj 1.7.1 on a vci 400. there have been various issues reported on another thread about the selection knob jumping around and how contact cleaner can help solve this.
Electrical contact cleaner is readily available from electrical stores and if you have difficulty finding it then WD40 could be used as it is a penetrant and will remove some dirt. However as wd40 also contains some mineral oil for lubricant it may in the long run attract more dust so should probably be used sparingly.
However WD40 do also make a specialist contact cleaner which would be good
Google `WD 40 Specialist Contact Cleaner 400ml`
I find with my vci400 that i quite regularly have to spray the selction knob, crossfaders & upfaders to keep them working.
I used normal wd40 sparingly at first as it was an emergency at a gig but now carry a can of proper contact cleaner at all times.
