1.6.2 Pioneer CDJ-2000Nexus HID mode delay

SSL Experimentalist 7:55 AM - 25 April, 2014
I got SDJ 1.6.2 and just ike 1.6.1, there is major delay with HID mode, even at minimum buffer.
raequan 10:32 AM - 26 April, 2014
increase buffer.
SOUNDWAVES DJ 3:33 PM - 26 April, 2014
+1 I'm also having the same issue, I surprised this hasn't been addressed it is a major problem IMO.
deejdave 4:42 PM - 26 April, 2014
It HAS been addressed though. Logged and is being worked on. Furthermore is this the issue any of you are facing or different? serato.com as this affects all devices running HID in SDJ along with a large library. There is another issue with JUST the lag so just curious which one you guys are facing.

Other than this (as in if I don't have "All" selected SDJ runs perfect (no lag) with my HID whether it be the SZ, SL4, Rane 64, or 900SRT. Obviously my non HID setups (SX & NS7II) have no issues whatsoever.
SOUNDWAVES DJ 3:55 PM - 27 April, 2014
My main setup (SL3 with CDJ2000's & DJM850) I'm noticing lag, I have roughly 50Gigs of music on my laptop so I wouldn't say extremely large but enough. I had the buffer set at 2ms but recently changed it to 5ms and things got smoother and surprisingly lag improved a bit but there still is noticeable lag compared to SL set at 2ms.

On my Little DDJ-Wego there is no lag at all even if buffer is set to 5ms.....odd.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the feedback,

As Deejdave has said, we are aware of some users having lag issues when connected in HID mode. These issues have been logged and we hope to address them soon.

Thanks,
Jamie.

its a month later........any news on the latency issue ?
SSL Experimentalist 8:23 AM - 8 July, 2014
Every new update seems to slowly improve the lag. My money is on that hopefully we can get this worked out by version 2.0

I'm running the CDJ-900 Nexus and HID is not usable for me right now either.

Most Importantly:
Fast, sharp platter movements are too laggy for accurate scratching and there are glitches in the playhead indicator on the CDJ's center marker display.

If I could mix a set without touching the platter and it would be OK... but in the middle of a session the latency jumps ship completely and actions are nearly a full second out of sync. (Adjusting the USB buffer slider a notch and hitting apply is the workaround for this issue.)

Less Important:
Fix the lag in the on-player track list while scrolling library tracks. I have to pause a 1/2 second between tracks otherwise the scroll jump is not predictable and matched to the hardware knob "clicks" felt while scrolling.

Overall, I really hope they get the latency issues fixed soon & maybe surprise us with on-deck waveforms to make up for the pain! ;)

Are you using SDJ 1.7 which was released yesterday? It got rid of this issue for me.

Yeah I agree with this and we do plan on optimising HID mode. We haven't stopped yet ;)

Does this happen to you without HID mode?
It would be awesome if you could find some time to test with CD timecode and see if the problem comes up as well :)

We have improved the scrolling feature in Serato DJ 1.7 which improves the waveform lag / glitching in SDJ when you scroll the library via the CDJ. Is this what you mean?

Thanks,
Jamie

Time code works great. Working with time code from USB or cd is the same and what I've reverted to until HID is optimized. Eager to use all of the cdj buttons to interface w the software.

The display lag I'm referring to here is the time it takes for the cdj screen to refresh. If I click the scroll knob 3 quick clicks to scroll the library, the highlighted track on cdj display can't keep up. No lag experienced on the computer screen, just lagging back to the cdj display.

Thanks for the quick reply Jamie!
