PROBLEM WITH SERATO DJ 1.5.2 AND WINDOWS 8.1

Serato DJ 1.5.2 is close when I open the program, I have Windows 8.1

Hi DJ AFRA,

Serato DJ is not currently supported with Windows 8.

Can you please try connecting your DDJ-SX to a Windows 7 machine?

Are you able to use the program at all, or does it shut down before it even opens?

The problem I think is the driver, I research on the net and found this link from Pioneer : pioneerdj.com

Thanks DJ AFRIA,

As stated in that Pionner link: Current software (Firmware and Driver software) may not work with Windows 8.1 properly at this moment.
* Verification in progress with Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro.
* Full functionality is not guaranteed with Windows 8.1.

Both Serato and Pioneer are testing with Windows 8 computers and hopefully should have completed testing soon. However until testing is completed we are unable to provide official support as there could be many things interfering with your connection.

If you wait until december, this doesnt mean that the software will work right away, but we may release a version of the software that is more compatible with the drivers for Windows 8.

Have you tried all the normal steps to get Serato DJ to work?

• Try removing any USB hard drives from your computer, as well as any USB keyboards or USB mice.
• Try updating the firmware as mentioned on the Pioneer website
• Make sure you have the correct account permissions on your computer before reinstalling the Serato DJ application
• Reinstall Serato DJ

Does the software work even when you dont have the DDJ-SX plugged in? If you disconnect the DDJ-SX and start Serato DJ, does it still crash?

I resolved the error I returned to windows 8 and now I can create my sets... perfect !!!!
Before I was VirtualDj user, but now I changed to Serato because for me is much better, for example the filter, the effects and the sound are the best !!
I would like send my opinion about improve Serato Dj, wich is the best way for send my comments, here in the support or there is some link for improves.

Hi DJ AFRA,

Are you still experiencing this issue with a Windows 7 PC? As I mentioned earlier we do not officially support Windows 8 just yet.

Hi Scott,
I installed the Public Beta version 1.6.0 (1602946) and the all problems were resolved in windows 8.1
My test was for 2 hours

Glad to hear DJ AFRA!

I will close this thread for now as you seem to have found a solution for now. Please keep in mind that it is only the beta and there are things that may go wrong.

But i'm glad it is working for you now.
