cant get the ipad appear in the plugins remote list when connected via usb

its detected fine with wifi

the prob occurs with 2 different ipads and 2 different win 8 laptops

With this information above, are you using the same USB cable with those 2 different iPads?

- Have you tried using another USB cable?

In addition, have you got the latest update of iTunes installed on your computer?

yes the cable is fine. and yes the latest itunes is installed.

I tried the same using serato dj on a 3rd machine, win 7 machine last night. same problem.

Hey Mr.G,

Thanks for your patience.

Can you also please check the following settings,

1. Please following instructions at this link --> support.apple.com (click link)
2. The section you need to read first is "Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS)"
-- It refers to "Apple Mobile Device" but in the same list you will see BONJOUR.
-- Make sure BONJOUR is set to AUTOMATIC.

3. To change BONJOURS settings to AUTOMATIC follow the instructions under the title "Set The Apple Mobile Device Service Startup type to Automatic"

no I've tried the following:

4 X Laptops ( 1 X Vista / 1 X Windows 7 / 2 X Windows 8 )
2 X IPads (normal and Retina ( both latest firmware )

I've got it working via wifi on 3 of them

and none via USB.

you finally admitted it... amazing.

It would be nice if you put that on the itunes remote page to warn windows users before they part with their well earned sum of £13.99

you released an untested product... you have lost -1 health points and will be grounded for at least a month.
