The IDA World DJ Championships just wrapped up in Poland this year with special performances on the night from DJ Qbert, Ritchie Ruftone, DJ Irie, Rasmentalism, Kali, Sinfonietta Cracovia and Serato Video wiz DJ Woody.
DJ Woody recorded his 65 minute video set from the night which takes you on an audio-visual trip through the history of hip-hop. DJ Woody always puts a lot of time and effort into his video performances and edits, animates and builds everything by himself, as Woody puts it, this is a real "Labour of love". Check out his impressive performance below.

For those that don't know, the IDA World DJ Championship is a competition formed by the International DJ Association with its main goal to promote turntablism worldwide. (We think they did a pretty good job this year with the class of DJs performing). The IDA World DJ Championship consists of two categories - Technical and Show. Check the rules and Regulations below:
Rules and regulations:
Each IDA chapter organizes IDA National Championships. Winners represent their countries and the World Final. They compete in two categories:
The Technical Category
It is an ordinary adaptation to the Advancement Class. Both, Juggling and Scratching must have been presented by the DJ in their sets. All qualified Dj’s present their 3 minutes sets. Only 4 goes to the semifinals. They battle each other with 2 x 2 minutes sets. The winners go to the strict final or batlle for a 3rd place (another 2 x 2 min set).
The Show Category
Contains Teams, DJs using effect tools and DJs using Finals Scratch etc. The important thing in the Show Category is, that the competitors have to present a set, which is close to a song. The main criterion in this Category is musicality and creativity. All Dj’s / Teams present 6 minutes show. There is no battle mode in this category.
